Chapter 1250: Snowflake dead?

Chapter 1250: Snowflake dead?

BOOM!!

The deafening blast tore through the camp as the white-beamed bullet screamed toward Lia.

With a swift, graceful motion, she slashed it apart with her thin red sword, the blade gleaming with a streak of crimson light.

Sparks scattered in the air as the energy dissolved, and before the glow could fade, she had already swung again, cutting down the next round of bullets that raced toward her.

Around them, metallic figures closed in, guns glowing, their fire pouring endlessly.

Snowflake, on the other hand, her body slithering faster than the beams themselves.

She shifted size at will, shrinking to slip between streams of fire, then expanding in a sudden burst as she snapped her fangs wide. Green poison sprayed forth in a torrent, hissing in the air before splattering across metal.

The acid rained down on their enemies, melting through steel as if it were paper, creating holes in their armoured bodies… and one by one, they toppled to the ground like statues eroded by centuries of decay, dissolving into steaming puddles.

The remaining figures hesitated, more fearful of Snowflake’s monstrous acid than Lia’s blazing sword.

“They were… easy?” Lia muttered, her voice carrying genuine disbelief, almost mocking.

Her brows knitted as she slashed down another target. “I didn’t think they would be this weak. If they dared to kidnap me from my palace, I expected power… Surely they had something stronger waiting, right?”

But… it seemed completely wrong.

Snowflake paused only long enough to glance at her and nod.

After all, both of them feared the other party might be the strongest one, that was why they even held hostage to escape.

In sheer numbers, they were overwhelming, but in terms of power, in terms of quality?

They were weak as fuck.

“If we knew it would be like this,” Lia added, “we could have stormed them from the start. Saved everyone.”

Snowflake hissed in agreement, a sly grin curling across her scaled face as she twisted her body and sent another stream of acid hissing through the air.

Lia and Snowflake pressed forward, cutting their way steadily toward the cages where rows of prisoners cowered in fear.

Their plan was simple—free the people, let them fight alongside them.

The metallic figure with a tail had not joined the fray. Instead, it stood still, its face locked on Lia and Snowflake as though memorising every move.

A faint hum rippled through its body. It nodded—once, twice, three times—then turned away. Its tail snapped like a whip, and in a flash, it leapt high into the air.

Lia stabbed through armoured chests one after another, her movements so precise they looked more like a deadly dance than a battle.

She spun, twirled, her red dress fluttering like blood-soaked petals as her blade glittered. Snowflake slithered beside her, giggling darkly as she spat another shot of acid, her laughter rising higher each time a soldier melted into sludge.

When they finally reached one of the massive cages.

Inside, a dragon lay bound, scales dulled but eyes still burning with fury.

If she released this beast, the battlefield would shift in an instant. The dragon would tear through the army and free the rest.

She stepped closer, while Snowflake twisted back protectively. Acid streamed from her mouth in sharp beams, burning down enemies that crept too near.

Lia raised her sword high and brought it down against the cage.

Tang!

Her brow furrowed. She dragged her blade back, inspecting the mark. “Damn it… sturdier than I thought.”

Of course, this was a cage strong enough to hold a dragon. It wouldn’t fall as easily as the others.

“What are you doing?” Snowflake snapped with worry. More metallic figures kept appearing in.

She spat another spray of acid, but she knew her strength wasn’t infinite. “The numbers keep rising. I can burn them, yes, but my venom isn’t endless. I need time to recover—I can’t spit forever.”

“No… it’s just that this cage is stronger than I expected,” Lia muttered through clenched teeth.

Snowflake’s eyes narrowed as she glared at the bars. “Then let me handle it,” she hissed. Acid gathered in her throat, glowing faintly, before she let out a violent spray. The liquid struck the steel with a sharp hiss, steam rising as the metal sizzled and warped.

Splasshh!

For a second, nothing happened. The bars hissed, steam rising… Then, suddenly, cracks spread across the iron like spiderwebs.

Metal groaned and sagged as the bars began to melt down.

Lia smirked, glancing at Snowflake. Snowflake only nodded and spat again, spraying acid across the bars in a perfect square pattern.

The bars quivered. Then—

Tang!

The whole section gave way and fell.

The metallic figures that had been charging toward them froze mid-step, their eyes flashing as they halted.

All of them stared in eerie silence when the dragon slowly stepped forward, its enormous frame squeezing through the broken bars. Its mouth was sealed shut, its wings chained, heavy locks biting into its scales.

But the moment its claws touched the ground outside, its form rippled. The beast’s body twisted, shrank, and in an instant, it stood tall in human shape. Chains shattered and fell away like brittle glass. The metallic seals crumbled uselessly at his feet.

He cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders, his gaze shifting between Lia and Snowflake. “Thank you,” he said.

Then his eyes fixed on Snowflake, “His Majesty’s right hand… it figures. Even here, your name echoes. Snowflake, feared serpent of the Pyra Empire.”

Snowflake bared her fangs in a grin. “Kill them all.”

The man dipped his head in silent obedience. His jaw tightened, his fists clenched, and his gaze swept across the metallic army.

The humiliation of his capture burned in his eyes. If other dragons knew he had been chained like this, they would laugh their scales off. His growl rumbled low in his throat before exploding outward.

In a flash, his body expanded again, flesh and bone tearing into vast wings and claws. He roared—

“AARRRRRRRRHHHH!!”

A torrent of flame burst from his maw, a white-hot inferno that scorched the air itself. Everything before him turned to ash. Metal soldiers melted, running in terror as fire devoured them whole.

Meanwhile, Lia and Snowflake wasted no time. Together they struck at the cages. Lia’s sword slashed clean through the smaller ones as if slicing butter, while Snowflake’s venom melted the larger locks.

One by one, captives staggered free.

“Everyone, get out and fight together!!” Lia shouted with command.

Snowflake smirked when her eyes fell upon a familiar face—the hawk that had aided her last night.

She melted his cage with extra venom, slow and deliberate. The hawk’s eyes widened, his feathers bristling, his face paling as though he regretted every choice that had led him here.

Everyone seemed to reaching the victory as the metallic figure run away however,

THUD!!

The mighty dragon that had risen so high crashed down, his massive body slamming into the ground with a crushing force.

The ground quaked violently, dust and shards of stone exploding outward.

Lia froze mid-swing, her sword nearly slipping from her hand. Snowflake, in the middle of slapping the hawk, stopped as she turned….

Even the freed captives stood in horrified silence.

“What…?” Lia whispered.

Another figure stepped forward behind the dragon.

It looked nothing like the others.

Yes, its body was black, but this was no ordinary black—it was so dark it swallowed light itself. Compared to this, the other metallic soldiers seemed grey.

Its form was larger, more muscular, thick cords of wires coiled around its limbs and chest, pulsing faintly with a strange white glow. The wires moved as though alive, throbbing with energy like veins of lightning.

Lia frowned. There was no suffocating aura, no obvious threat radiating from this figure. Yet her instincts screamed at her—run.

Something about this thing was wrong… Deadly wrong.

The deep black figure raised its hand.

The wires along its body twitched, then writhed violently. They slithered upward, converging, and in seconds, they formed into a massive, thick staff gripped tight in its hand.

White light pulsed along its length.

The figure stared across the battlefield.

The white staff in its grip glowed brighter, blinding, and then, calmly, it tapped the dragon’s head.

And that was all.

PUFFFF!!!

The dragon, in a matter of seconds, burst into pieces.

Flesh and blood exploded outward, spraying across the tents and cages.

Splattered over the faces of metallic figures and prisoners alike.

Everyone froze…. None of them had ever witnessed something like this.

Even the Dragon Emperor himself would have needed strong power to obliterate a dragon. But this… this was absurd.

Just a tap?

That’s all it took?

The land became a slaughterhouse, painted red with flesh and blood.

Faces turned pale, eyes wide, mouths unable to form a single word. No one moved, not even an inch. The figure simply lifted its staff, the white light pulsing along its surface, and made a small motion toward the cages.

The captives obeyed instantly. A single swirl of the glowing staff, and their freedom disappeared. Tʜe sourc of ths content s N0veI.Fiɾe.net

They didn’t resist, didn’t question… they turned and began walking back into the cages, step by step.

Lia blinked hard, unable to process what she was seeing. “W-Wait, what are you doing?” she cried, horrified to watch freed people walking back into their cages like beaten slaves.

One of them, an elf woman with silver hair matted by blood, turned to her with a trembling voice. “What else do you want us to do? That thing just pulverised a dragon with a tap. A dragon! And you expect us to fight it? Are you insane?” Her face twisted in terror.

In their minds, the choice was simple. Survival… that’s all.

Lia clicked her tongue sharply. Her grip tightened on her red sword, “Then I’ll take care of this thing myself.” She raised her blade, its crimson glow reflecting off her face. “I don’t know who you are, but remember this—I am strong enough to take down dragons myself!”

Snowflake hissed furiously but inwardly, ’We should have just run. This… this is a mistake.’ She shook her head.

Lia lunged, her sword poised to strike—

But the figure was already gone.

In the blink of an eye, it vanished and reappeared behind her. Lia’s instincts flared, but before she could move, the glowing white staff was already brushing the edge of her back.

Snowflake reacted instantly. Her mouth opened wide, and she fired.

Splash—!

Acid sprayed, striking both Lia and the figure. Lia winced as it splattered across her arm, but her body healed instantly, her flesh knitting back together in seconds.

The metallic surface sizzled, skin bubbling and melting.

Snowflake smirked, her tongue flicking with satisfaction. Her mouth opened wider, ready to unleash another wave and drown the figure in burning acid—

But it vanished again.

Snowflake froze, her slit-pupil eyes darting wildly around.

“ON YOUR BACK!!” Lia shouted.

Snowflake whipped around—just in time to see the figure appear beside her tail. The white staff arced down, glowing furiously, and tapped against her scales.

“Oh… shit—”
