Chapter 2738: War Goddess
Chapter 2738: War Goddess
Taken aback, the cowboy hurriedly turned around.
The dragon who had plummeted into the ocean not long ago had at some point already risen back up. Flesh had fallen off its massive head, revealing the white bones inside.
“How’s that possible?!”
It shouldn’t have been possible for anything to survive after sustaining such injuries, so why was this dragon unfazed?
Unfortunately, the cowboy would never get his answer, as the dragon unleashed a breath that swiftly enveloped him.
A miserable scream could be heard from within the grayish-white breath before abruptly being cut off. When the breath finally dissipated, a white skeleton wearing a cowboy hat and holding onto a gun fell from the sky.
A commotion broke out on the frigate.
Even though those three had been buffoons trying to impress Isabella, they weren’t weak. And yet, they were all killed in a single blow. The dragon was truly dangerous.
Isabella’s eyes reddened. “It’s because of me that they...”
The butler quickly consoled her. “Big miss, this has nothing to do with you.”
The other guests consoled her as well, thinking that her heart was as beautiful as her face. However, after witnessing the trio’s fate, none of them dared to confront the dragon anymore.
Yani shouted from a higher vantage, “Be careful, everyone. That dragon boasts exceptional defensive prowess.”
The crowd could tell as much without her pointing that out. The trio’s attacks were formidable, but they'd failed to deal any concrete damage to the dragon.
The dragon’s head had begun regenerating, and it didn’t take long for it to revert to its original appearance. It was as if the earlier attack had never happened.
“Be careful! It has incredible regeneration, too!”
“Holy shit! Is that dragon a Longevity worshiper?”
...
Upon hearing the discussions on the deck, Zu An frowned.
Isabella walked over and asked, “Mister Zu, are you sure it's death energy?”
“You can’t tell?” Zu An was perplexed. Surely these experts from the Myriad Worlds can recognize death energy, right?
Isabella replied, “Ever since the Deity of Death’s demise, it has been a long time since anyone last saw death energy.”
Zu An was speechless. But the Netherworld is filled with it. As the master of the Netherworld, maybe I have a higher affinity with death energy.
The frigate suddenly shook violently. Isabella screamed as she fell to the side. Due to her walking toward Zu An earlier, the white-haired butler was some distance away and couldn’t reach her in time.
Fortunately, Zu An instinctively reached out to grab her hand with one hand and her waist with the other to stop her from falling. “Are you all right?”
Isabella shook her head. Her cheeks were slightly reddened. “Thank you.”
The white-haired butler was taken aback.
The other guests were anguished. We've been fawning on Miss Isabella, but we never got within a meter of her. But that fellow went ahead to grab her hand and waist! Goddamnit!
Zu An didn’t have time to check on the influx of Rage points in his system, as an enormous tsunami over three hundred meters tall was about to crash into the frigate.
The dragon, enraged by the earlier attack, had begun its counterattack.
The frigate fired its cannons at the tsunami. Amazingly, they managed to blast it away.
The crew members and guests cheered, but that only lasted a second. To their horror, when they spread their divine sense outward, they discovered more tsunamis awaiting them—several hundred, in fact.
The frigate’s weapons were powerful enough to disperse a couple of tsunamis, but the remaining ones would still crash into them nonetheless.
Being struck by a tsunami of such a size would be equivalent to having an entire sea crushing them in an instant. No matter how sturdy the frigate was, it wouldn’t be able to take it.
Yani narrowed her eyes. Her fingers cracked as she clenched her fist. She was about to hurl out a punch when Zu An, standing at the bow of the frigate, suddenly raised his hand.
The raging tsunamis suddenly stopped.
The crowd was stunned.
There were many experts on the frigate, and some wielded the strength to disperse the tsunamis, though they couldn’t ensure that others wouldn’t be hurt by the ocean waves in the wake of their attack.
And if one thing was for certain, none of them had the power to stop all the tsunamis in place the way Zu An had.
Zu An was one of the weaker ones on the frigate. Many of those onboard believed that they could defeat him in a fight. However, they didn’t think they could perform the same feat he had just pulled off, even if they were ten times stronger.
Isabella’s eyes lit up. She couldn’t help but stare at Zu An.
Her suitors clenched their teeth in anger. Damn it! He stole the limelight!
Zu An pressed his palm downward, and the tsunamis returned to the ocean. Such huge movements should have raised gigantic waves and terrifying winds, but that didn’t happen.
The swimming dragon suddenly realized it couldn’t stir the surrounding water anymore, so it raised its head in bewilderment. When it realized the culprit was Zu An, it opened its mouth and roared.
A figure flew out of its mouth, while two other figures rose from the ocean.
It was the trio who had confronted the dragon earlier. Even the cowboy, who'd been reduced to a skeleton earlier, had regrown his flesh, though his skin was eerily pale.
The dragon uttered a bizarre note, and the deceased trio suddenly opened their eyes. Then, their silhouettes flickered as they flashed toward Zu An.
One brandished his spear and morphed into a sharp tornado. Another manifested a massive avatar and hurled a gigantic fist down on the frigate. The third transformed his gun into a cannon and fired it.
The crowd on the frigate was horrified. Death was frightening, but something even more frightening than that was being controlled like a puppet after dying.
Zu An was about to dodge the attacks when Yani suddenly flashed to his side. With a cold harrumph, she first raised her palm and grabbed the incoming cannonball, extinguishing it. Then, she tossed it back at the cowboy with even greater speed.
Kaboom!
The cowboy was blown to bits.
At the same time, Yani used her other hand to grab the incoming speartip between her fingers. With a twist, it broke off. She flicked her fingers, sending the speartip flying into its owner’s forehead.
The spearman burst apart at the same time as the cowboy.
Following that, the massive avatar’s punch arrived, but Yani casually hurled a punch of her own in response. The thick black clouds in the sky dispersed, revealing the blue sky. As for the unlucky man behind the avatar, he had long disintegrated under the sheer force of Yani’s punch.
Even the dragon’s lower jaw nearly dropped to the ocean floor, let alone those on the frigate.
