Chapter 2725: More Terrifying Than the Deity of Death

Chapter 2725: More Terrifying Than the Deity of Death

It was as if the woman had just walked out of a painting. Her robes were as white as snow, and her hair fluttered gracefully. She commanded an ethereal air.

Firework’s eyes lit up. “She was practically born to be a Love and Beauty worshiper!”

The woman was so beautiful that even other women were drawn to her.

Upon hearing Zu An’s voice, the white-robed woman looked over with impassive eyes devoid of the slightest emotion.

Xuehen was as cold as frost, but the time she had spent with Zu An breathed some life into her. In contrast, this woman felt empty like the void. Even a glance at her induced nihilism. It felt as if there were no meaning to life, death, and conflict.

“Who are you?” Fire Knight asked grimly. He couldn’t read the woman who had just appeared, and that placed great pressure on him.

The woman stretched her hand out. “Hand over Dreamland’s invitation letter.”

Her words came out awkwardly, as if it had been a long time since she last spoke, but her voice was still very pleasant-sounding.

Fire Knight sneered. They had come here to steal the other passengers’ invitation letters, yet someone else dared to rob him? This was ridiculous.

“What if I refuse?” Fire Knight snorted. If not for him struggling to get a read on the woman’s strength, he would have already made a move.

“Then I’ll have to make a move.” The white-robed woman sighed. She took a step forward, and her aura abruptly surged.

Fire Knight was taken aback. The woman was stronger than he had expected. His eyes flickered as he said, “Hold on. Those two have invitation letters too, and they’re powerless to resist now. You can have their invitation letters.”

With his second sister dead, the old woman’s and Fluttering Baldie’s invitation letters were enough for his other two brothers to use. It didn’t matter whether he had Zu An’s and Firework’s invitation letters or not.

He had a fearsome reputation as an Annihilation worshiper, but that didn’t mean he sought to resolve everything through violence. He saw no point in confronting a powerful expert over a matter that was easily resolved.

The white-robed woman glanced at Zu An and Firework.

Zu An felt a little awkward as he was still carrying Firework. Despite knowing the other party wasn’t Yan Xuehen, he couldn’t help but feel that he was caught in the act of adultery.

Firework felt nervous as well. Even Fire Knight was too much for them to deal with, and this mysterious woman just had to appear out of nowhere. It was like the saying ‘trouble comes in pairs’.

The white-robed woman eyed them impassively before turning back to Fire Knight. “I don’t want theirs.”

“...So you’re just after me!” Fire Knight roared in anger.

He was reluctant to pick meaningless fights with experts, but that didn’t mean he was afraid of trouble. Dozens of fire chains shot forth from his wheelchair, sealing off all of the white-robed woman’s escape paths.

“Be careful!” Zu An exclaimed. Despite knowing the woman wasn’t Yan Xuehen, he was still concerned because of their resemblance.

Firework grumbled coyly, “Big brother, you can’t just fall for her just because she’s gorgeous. Have you forgotten you’re still holding me?”

Zu An was speechless.

The white-haired woman stood still as if she couldn’t see the fire chains flying toward her. Soon, the chains shackled her body.

Fire Knight smiled triumphantly. I thought she was some powerful expert, but that’s all she amounts to...

Yet his smile quickly faded. After shackling the woman’s body, his fire chains didn’t stop; they passed right through her! It was as if her body was incorporeal.

Unwilling to accept the result, Fire Knight shot out more chains, but the other party stood still and allowed the chains to pass through her. She wasn’t hurt whatsoever.

“How is this possible?!” Fire Knight was flabbergasted, as if he had witnessed the inconceivable.

The white-robed woman took a step forward and the surrounding fire chains all shattered, including the ones shackling Zu An and Firework. She lifted her sheathed sword, and an incomparably sharp wave of sword ki surged toward Fire Knight.

Fire Knight was horrified. Not daring to hold back, he unleashed all his flames to manifest a humongous fire skeleton head to rip the sword ki apart.

Faced with the fire skeleton head, the sword ki resembled an ant confronting a whale. It felt as if even a blow from the whale could cause the ant to disintegrate. And yet, when both sides clashed, the more intimidating fire skeleton head was sliced in half like butter coming into contact with a red-hot knife.

The sword ki surged forth with unstoppable momentum, slicing Fire Knight and his wheelchair in half. The corpse swiftly disintegrated into flames.

The white-haired woman frowned. She sensed that Fire Knight wasn’t dead yet. Thus, she turned around and walked away.

Zu An hurriedly shouted, “Miss, what’s your name?”

His encounters with the Goddess of Wu Mountain and the Mermaid Queen made him wonder if there was any connection between Yan Xuehen and the woman before him. Not only did they look identical, but they had strikingly similar dispositions, too. On top of that, they wielded the same void divine power.

The white-robed woman glanced at him with a frown before walking away to pursue Fire Knight.

Noticing Zu An’s daze, Firework remarked, “Hey! She might be beautiful, but you don’t have to fawn on her that much. I’m not bad myself, but I don’t see you being that proactive!”

There was no reason for Zu An to tell her about Yan Xuehen. Now that he was freed from the fire chains, he took a brief moment to recuperate before chasing after the white-robed woman with Firework in his arm.

Firework was taken aback. “Wait wait wait! This is our chance to escape! Are you squandering this opportunity to head back and look for her?”

Zu An hurriedly replied, “She resembles a friend of mine. I have questions to ask her.”

“Tsk!” Firework rolled her eyes. “That’s what all men claim when they see a beautiful woman. Can’t you come up with a better excuse?”

Zu An ignored her. “I shouldn’t implicate you in this. Do you want to stay here?”

“I’m coming with you.” Firework hurriedly explained herself. “I’m still under the effects of the octopus demoness’ poison. I’d be dead meat if even a small fry stumbled in here.”

Zu An thought her answer made sense, so he continued giving chase while carrying her.

When they arrived at the warehouse, they were shocked by what they saw. The noisy warehouse had turned eerily quiet, and the army of monsters had collapsed in puddles of blood.

Employee 9527 and a few other Conglomerate’s staff members were still alive, but they were frozen stiff in shock, as if they had just witnessed something unbelievable.

Fire Knight and the birdman were standing in two corners of the warehouse. Fire Knight, having lost his wheelchair, was now using two spears as crutches for support. The birdman was backed against the warehouse wall while holding his silver claws tightly.

They were covered in so many wounds that fresh blood flowed profusely from them, but they didn’t have the energy to tend to their injuries. They stared nervously at the white-robed woman standing at the center of the warehouse.

As beautiful as the woman was, to them, she was even more terrifying than the Deity of Death.
