Chapter 681: As Long As They’re Not Damn Invincible
Chapter 681: 681: As Long As They’re Not Damn Invincible
“We’re going in!!”
Bradley charged forward like an unsheathed sword, plunging straight into the Abyss.
Velorith let out a high-pitched dragon’s roar, instantly activating its exclusive Lightning Dragon King skill: Life and Death as One!
“Roar!!”
Bradley bellowed, arcs of lightning crackling across his body as his battle armor shifted forms. With a ferocious shout to the heavens, he locked eyes on the Flesh Devourer commander and raised his Elemental Sword in a fierce slash.
Boom!
The man hadn’t arrived yet, but the lightning-coated blade reached first. Charged with dragon breath, the strike spread instantly across the demon’s body.
The surprise attack stunned the Flesh Devourer, freezing it in place. The Elemental Sword cleaved straight into its neck, spraying black demon blood.
Critical Strike -17,000,000!
“Hell yeah!! Money Traveler is a beast!!”
The members of Godslayer were stunned by the sheer force of the strike, but Bradley’s expression twisted in shock.
“That thick skull… it didn’t kill him?”
He and Velorith had unleashed a full-power combo, forgoing skill buffs to maximize attack speed. Against any normal Saint Lord-class boss, that would’ve been a clean decapitation and a first-kill trophy.
But instead of splattering to the ground, the demon’s blood floated mid-air, forming a humanoid shape that lunged straight at him.
“Light-Dark Arcanum—Z Slash!”
Bradley frowned and whipped around, slicing the blood clone to pieces. He followed up by flipping his sword and sending the lurking Devourer flying.
“V Slash!”
Another roar. Elemental shockwaves erupted as the Devourer’s limbs were severed.
Before he could celebrate, the demon let out an enraged shriek. The severed limbs and scattered blood returned to its body, and in a cloud of mist, it regenerated instantly.
Blood Feast +5,000,000 HP!
Blood Feast +5,000,000 HP!
…
“Son of a… this thing won’t die.”
Bradley cursed under his breath, dodging a Planet Destroyer’s massive swipe with a flap of his lightning wings. He twisted mid-air and slashed back hard, forcing the monster to retreat.
“What the hell… that regen is insane!”
Iron Cavalry’s scalp tingled. This was basically an unkillable beast.
“You can’t kill a Devourer without a way to reduce its healing. Either you cut off the healing or you outdamage the regen.”
Endless Rift, now in his black-robed elder form, sneered while standing beside Orson.
He was impressed that Orgod had someone this powerful by his side, but still looked down on these ignorant Earthlings.
“Brute force will never beat a high-tier Heaven Demon.” Endless Rift sneered sarcastically.
“You sure about that?”
Orson’s calm voice cut in.
Endless Rift gritted his teeth, wanting to retort but hesitated, hoping these overconfident Earth adventurers would embarrass themselves.
“Dark-type healing debuff. Kill it.” Orson said flatly.
“Just watch me.”
Bradley let out a wicked grin, raising his left palm. A dark beam of light flickered to life.
“Awakening: Vile Python Calamity.”
A giant serpent made of pure dark energy surged from his palm, coiling tightly around the Devourer.
It was only a B-rank dark spell, with modest damage, but extremely effective against targets that relied on healing. The demon’s healing instantly dropped to less than 20 percent.
“You’re dead!”
Bradley’s eyes were sharp. With nimble flight, he weaved between the claw strikes of dozens of Planet Destroyers, closing the distance on the Devourer.
Their blades clashed furiously, sparks flying in every direction.
But Bradley wasn’t just a dual-element fighter—he was fused with a Dragon King, and his unpredictable combat style caught the demon off guard.
Feigning an opening, he baited the Devourer into lunging, only for it to strike his holy shield.
Too late.
Bradley’s grin turned feral. He grabbed the Devourer by the head and rammed his sword deep into its throat.
With a powerful twist, he ripped the demon’s head clean off.
Like a true War God, he lifted the severed head high and roared to his allies.
“Slay the demons! For Godslayer!!”
Madman: “Holy crap, this guy’s a total maniac.”
Divine Slash: “Boss, you’re a goddamn legend!!”
Everyone’s morale exploded like wildfire.
With Godslayer’s strongest solo warrior leading the charge, their fear vanished.
As long as the enemy wasn’t completely invincible, they could chop those demon heads off and kick them like soccer balls just like Bradley!
Skyslasher: “He’s… already grown this strong?”
EclipseRider: “Like it or not, this guy deserves a seat at the table in the ’strongest warrior’ debate.”
Members of Dragon’s Kiss Guild were left speechless. Bradley’s rampage shook them deeply. But no matter how terrifying the Heaven Demons were, could they really be more terrifying than these lunatics from Godslayer?
Endless Rift stared in disbelief. He’d just gotten repeatedly slapped in the face by Bradley’s performance, but still muttered in frustration, “It’s not over yet.”
“You mean the Devourer’s parasite skill? Easy.” Orson smiled calmly.
While Bradley was hyping up the team, he had no idea that a blood-red mark had appeared on his back—sign of the Devourer’s most disgusting ability: Parasite.
“The Flame Dragon.”
Orson casually waved his staff. A massive dragon infused with chaotic energy crashed down.
The mark let out a shrill, inhuman screech before burning to ash.
Bradley spun around, startled. Only after seeing the system alert did he realize how close he’d come to disaster. He gave Orson a silent nod of thanks.
“You… how do you know so much about Devourers?” Endless Rift stared at Orson in shock.
Orson shot him a cold glance. “I never go to war unprepared.”
Just as he spoke, something shifted.
From deep inside the Abyss, a massive swarm of tiny, moth-like entities began pouring out in all directions.
[Heaven Demon Star Core]
Level: 1
Type: Low-tier Heaven Demon
HP: 100
Attack: 1
Skill: Heaven Demon Star Ring
“They’re spilling out now?”
Everyone was baffled. These things were no bigger than a fingernail, moved insanely fast, and were nearly impossible to target. Their stats were even worse than starter zone mobs.
“Do we shoot or what?” Old Yin adjusted the angle of his holy artillery.
“No need. They’re not a threat to us.” Orson shook his head.
Heaven Demon Star Cores weren’t really living creatures, but more like mobile devices. They created Star Rings on planetary surfaces, making the environment more suitable for demon breeding and survival.
They also disrupted orbital satellite systems, cutting Blue Star off from the rest of the galaxy.
These were the very things that shattered humanity’s dream of escaping Earth via spacecraft.
The Abyss seethed with demonic waves. Thousands of Planet Destroyers began releasing spores, which burst forth as egg-like pods.
Before long, they hatched into all kinds of grotesque low-tier Heaven Demons, clogging the entrance to the Abyss.
“Old Yin, blast them. I don’t want those disgusting things blocking our way.”
Orson gave the command, then looked to Blank. “Full firepower, into the Abyss.”
“Got it.”
Blank responded immediately, contacting the ground command center.
Moments later, deep beneath the Earth, the ocean, and hidden in forest bunkers, mechanical rumbling echoed. One by one, hidden silos opened.
Whoosh. Whoosh. Whoosh.
The night sky lit up with streaks brighter than stars.
Across the globe, civilians and adventurers rushed outside to witness the moment.
“Is this the end of the world? That’s… that’s a lot of nukes!”
“Don’t stare at my big rocket! I’ve been smoking for 20 years just to see this moment!”
“God bless our Orgod. God bless the Godslayer Guild!”
Nuclear weapons—the so-called “civilization erasers” that had always hung over humanity’s head—were now Earth’s gift to the Heaven Demons.
US Army Channel:
Raven: “All warships, shields up. I repeat—ALL of them!”
The three nation-level weapons of war pulled in close. Around them, dragons and magic ships descended to the ground for safety.
Usher’s face turned pale. As the only man who had ever taken a nuke head-on, he knew what was coming.
Just a few had nearly wiped out Dragon’s Kiss Guild.
Now nearly 200 intercontinental warheads were incoming.
Each one could rival a max-level Forbidden Curse. At worst, they were equivalent to a basic Forbidden Curse-level spell.
One black, one white, one gold—three massive barrier shields shot into the sky, covering the allied forces.
Orson, using the Celestial Fortress’s vision system, timed the incoming missile barrage. His gaze turned deadly.
For once, his eyes burned with raw killing intent.
He raised his Supreme Arcane Blade and shouted with all his might:
“All warships—FIRE!!”
