Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4835: What Is Known And Unknown II

Chapter 4835: What Is Known And Unknown II

Noah heard the voice of Ruination echoing in his mind with such words as he quickly focused, his Absolute Seals of Fortune and Potential buzzing as if they sensed a grand possibility.

He quickly took control of his body that Ruination had been piloting in Muspelheim.

The transition was seamless, his consciousness settling into flesh and bone and authority that had been moving through the remnants of a Primordial Realm.

And he saw what surrounded him.

His massive blue-gold pillar, the monolith that had been devouring everything, stood grandly and tyrannically alone in the void. Fiery crimson-gold light of the Primordial Realm continued to sink into it from afar like rivers delving into an endless drain. The authority of Muspelheim, the accumulated weight of eons, all of it flowing into THE Infiniverse through this point of consumption.

And all around the monolith was blank collapsed space where the Primordial Realm used to sit.

Empty.

Dark.

The absence of something that had existed for longer than most beings could comprehend.

And yet, at this moment, this region did not have the calmness it should have held.

Because of their actions, they had actually uncovered a form of life that literally seemed like it had been slumbering in the region of space beneath Muspelheim. Waiting in the void between realms as if the Primordial Realm itself had been a blanket covering something ancient beyond measure.

With him taking hold of his body, Noah moved toward this unique finding.

He felt a sense of apprehension that he couldn’t explain.

HUUM!

And as he approached, whatever that slumbering lifeform was began to rouse.

Heavy Depths of Immensity began to radiate all around, pressing against Noah’s existence with weight that made him pause and truly assess what he was perceiving.

He was astonished.

The Depth didn’t fit into Surface or Intermediate or Fundamental. And yet he also couldn’t say that it fit in the Absolute, as he had now met multiple Absolutes and they didn’t feel this way.

It wasn’t that the aura he currently felt was grander or heavier than someone like THE Primordial Chaos. It simply felt different. Ancient in ways that transcended the normal understanding of age!

But the heaviness and Immensity no doubt made him feel as if the lifeform was an equivalent of an Absolute.

In the region of space where a Primordial Realm used to sit, darkness and white light intertwined and clashed. Short bursts of authority made it feel like sparks of black and white were meeting all around, illuminating the surroundings in flashes that stretched out for many miles.

Reality itself seemed uncertain about how to process what was waking up.

And the slumbering thing that Noah had woken up due to his devouring of a Primordial Realm opened its eyes at this moment.

...!

What Noah saw defied easy description.

The creature’s form was that of an ancient aquatic being, something that looked like it had swum through the primordial waters of Existence itself before concepts like water or swimming had meaning. Its body stretched for miles, yet the concept of size for it wasn’t really warranted. It could just as well be gigaparsecs large. Scale seemed to be a suggestion rather than a rule for this entity.

It shone with a hazy stellar crimson-pink light that made its entire body look ethereal and almost see-through. Not ghostly, but existing in a state between physical and conceptual that normal perception couldn’t properly categorize.

Crimson-pink wings spread above it, vast membranes of light that pulsed with inner luminescence. They weren’t wings for flying. They were likely extensions of its existence that served purposes Noah couldn’t begin to guess.

And across its entire form, shimmering pages floated and drifted. Countless pages filled with words of The First Tongue, sentences and paragraphs and entire treatises written in the linguistic foundation of reality itself. They moved around the creature like schools of fish, like leaves in an eternal wind, like thoughts given physical form.

...!

Noah was astounded to look upon such a creature.

The calm and ancient eyes of this being opened and stared back at him, pupils that held depths beyond normal comprehension. And within them, Noah could feel and see...boundless Everythings.

Not power in the conventional sense.

Information.

Pure, crystallized information accumulated across time spans that made eons seem like moments.

As he was staring at it, a booming ancient feminine voice echoed out across the void between realms.

"You have disturbed my slumber."

The words weren’t accusatory, they were simply factual.

"But you are also the first to do so since The Earliest Folds."

A pause that seemed to stretch across centuries.

"For this, I shall grant you the chance to ask a single question."

...!

Noah’s eyes opened wide at this moment as prompts bloomed with information that made his foundations pulse with recognition.

Information obtained through connection with The First Tongue

You have been granted a question by THE Mnemonic Leviathan, Pebanista Yacuruna

THE Mnemonic Leviathan dwells in the spaces between Primordial Realms

Its body is composed entirely of accumulated information

Every secret whispered across eons, every truth discovered and forgotten, every piece of knowledge that ever existed flows through its endless form

It knows almost everything

And it has never done anything

The Mnemonic Leviathan drifts through Existence, bloated with understanding it cannot apply

It is a docile creature of Existence, unbothered by the endless Weavings playing out across it

...!

Noah looked at the massive entity that stared at him with ancient eyes.

One question.

A single question to a being that knew almost everything that had ever been known.

His mind raced through possibilities, weighing the value of each potential question against the others. What did he need most? What would give him the greatest advantage? What knowledge would transform him most completely?

The Mnemonic Leviathan waited with patience born of existing between realms since before The Infinite Unfurling.

It was an ancient thing few knew of, and it had all the time in Observable Existence.

It always had.
