Chapter 1113: The Final Race (Part 10)
Chapter 1113: The Final Race (Part 10)
His teeth clattered under his desperate urge to keep them shut silent. His body was forcefully kept still, like a statue, his best attempt to avoid drawing any attention towards himself. That was KalTara, having just endured a Transcendent’s influence upon entering the Transcended Plane a second time.
His initial plan was to resume his fight against Walwal Walwal, take advantage of the swarming natives to sneak attack his way to victory. However, Leukeu had the same thoughts and ended up taking action first.
Ideally, KalTara wanted to regain his advantage before it was too late. However, it was indeed too late now, as he felt his Reactive Jade Human Avatar gargle in strain as it rotted, healed, experienced wear and tear, and gradually began to erode over time.
A few kilometres from his position was the entity he dreaded, the wafting presence of whom caused his Reactive Jade Human Avatar’s complete wreckage.
’T-That…monster…’ Thoughts failed to form coherently in his mind as KalTara was unable to gather his bearings. Soon, his Human Avatar form collapsed completely, forcing him to eject it promptly to avoid sustaining damage to his Spirit Container.
But then, his right arm began to morph, gradually attempting to turn into something resembling a centipede. His eyes flickered erratically as the eyelids flapped nonstop. For a second, his eyeball seemed to have transformed into a worm. However, a second later, it reverted into the eyeball.
“Haaah…gaaah…bwaah…!” KalTara took deep, raspy gasps, each more strained than the previous as he stared at the entity that had appeared out of the closest portal.
She was a girl reaching exactly a metre in height. Donning a gown seemingly stitched out of strings of Prana too fine and intricately woven to be produced by Zinger Aristocrats, her limbs casually flailed about her torso.
Her face, half masked by the trapezoidal hat on her forehead, was blank. There was a nose, yes, but was shaped like the letter ’W’, with the pointed ends being nostrils. They curved to the side and faced away from each other.
In the place of an ear was a tendril that extended a metre behind her, in an effort to have an ear canal opening as large as possible, with the entire structure riddled with tiny, mosquito-feather like appendages to detect the faintest vibration.
Pulsating across her face was a train of eyes, constantly appearing and disappearing. For a fraction of a second since an eye forms, it retains light, and then is unable to see anymore. Once it loses its function, it vanishes.
There was no mouth, with its respective spot covered by skin resembling her cheeks. The girl appeared slightly bizarre, but nothing intimidating, at first glance. However, those that stared upon her felt the Prana in their bodies working overtime to cure the mutations that were springing upon their eyes.
And anyone that used a Prana detection means straight up exploded into blood mist. Only one existence lived on Sumatra that was so…casually dangerous.
Second Calamity—Brood Mother!
Instinctively, she perceived the pillar of light released by the Seat of Transcendence. And by instinct, she knew that the moment she grabs hold of this Mystic Major Treasure, she would be fully cured of her plight.
Her thighs grew thicker as the Brood Mother craned strength into them. And then, she burst forth with an explosive, horizontal jump.
Four hundred metres before her, barely managing to survive the influence of an Iron Transcendent Free Human was a Millinger. Stretching for a few dozen metres before it was a path free from Transcendent influence.
It was a safe path, which would last for a while before vanishing. Only then would the Millinger worry about having to endure another Transcendent’s influence. At present, it was rapidly thumping its heart to circulate blood faster across its body and allow its Prana to cleanse it of all external influences.
But then, whether it be its body or the path it stood upon, both crumbled to dust as the Brood Mother rushed past without a drop in momentum. Her every step thundered the floor, causing faint cracks.
The eye of a Gold Grade Free Human appeared beneath her foot and drowned her with Transcendent influence. The influence seemed to affect her, for a few seconds. And then, there was a mild change in her body, after which she could treat the influence as food.
The Brood Mother looked down at the eye that seemed to tremble for an instant. Lines of blood appeared across the eye, with faint traces of rot spreading across its sides.
The eye vanished deep below, having managed to stop the Brood Mother for exactly three seconds. And then, she resumed her sprint.
The eyes of Transcendents swarmed around her, targeting her one after another, with each managing to stop her anywhere between half a second and a few seconds.
Mahira Tusk’s eye too attempted the same, managing to stop the Brood Mother for around ten seconds. And in that duration, her cultivator projection arrived within attack range.
Weaponisation—Dance of Annihilation!
Mahira Tusk began to dance, sweating nonstop as even without using a Prana detection means, her skin was still peeling off nonstop. She was on the offensive and was still sustaining damage. ’What is with this monster?’
The Brood Mother stopped and fell to her knees, feeling her body shiver for some reason. Slowly, a mysterious ability was taking root in her, intending to transform her being.
Thump!
The Brood Mother’s figure shrunk by a tad, getting influenced by Weaponisation. Her sprint had stopped, as she was crawling on her knees now.
In this time, rushing out of the portal she had arrived from were two figures: Zhya, and Wally. They were bruised and battered, however were raging with fighting spirit.
The moment they set foot in the Transcended Plane, Wally covered his surroundings with his Prana and directly lured in all Transcendent influence towards himself. Thanks to his Minor Treasure of Buoyant Disease and his training in the Sandy-Grey Void, he was able to endure the Transcendent influence easily.
This opened up a clear window for Zhya to take aim and unleash her attack, which she launched promptly.
State of Harmony—Zinger Roar!
Mystic Royal Art—Piezo Resonance!
Mystic Royal Art—Tangible Piezo Slip!
[Sleep!]
The shockwave, travelling at a speed twelve times the speed of sound, slammed into the Brood Mother, pushing her a few hundred metres forward. Majority of its power was contained within the Tangible Piezo Slip, which knocked the Brood Mother unconscious for a few seconds.
This allowed Mahira Tusk to influence the Brood Mother’s body better, shrinking her size significantly more than before.
After the first attack, Zhya promptly charged up and unleashed a second Zinger Roar.
[Sleep More!]
Wally remained protective of her, using Subtle Terrain Domination to mildly control the terrain of the Transcended Plane, using which he tanked all the Transcendent influences aimed at Zhya.
’They…are holding back that monster!’ The moment the thought popped into his head, KalTara hurriedly assumed his human form, digested pieces of his tusks within his stomach, and changed the Natures stored in his Astral Chart.
Astral Chart—Shredded Lunge x10!
He moved forward by two hundred metres using the lunging part of Shredded Lunge. And then, the wind blades generated at the end of the lunge somehow stacked upon each other with mild misalignment, until the bladed part blunted and acted as a cushion of air that launched KalTara even further.
This pushed him forward by another two hundred metres, during which time he gathered enough Prana to activate the ten Natures once again. He quickly fired it off moments before a Transcendent’s eye appeared beneath him.
As its influence surged through his body, he still moved forward by four hundred metres, a significant distance on the Transcended Plane.
KalTara then remained stuck for the remainder of a minute, enduring the Transcendent’s influence. At that moment, his skin prickled intensely, even when he didn’t use a Prana detection means.
Thump!
His eyes gradually darted to the side noticing a tiny spike getting lodged into the floor nearby. A glance at it and he recognised the mineral, ’Rire…!’
Before his thoughts could finish iterating the word, a shimmering existence sauntered into the Transcended Plane.
Unlike everyone else, he hovered in the air, high above all. The moment he appeared, a specific Transcendent’s eye appeared underneath him and poured its influence into him, which he broke free from in a matter of seconds.
“Thank you,” The individual said and nodded towards the eye that sank deeper into the floor below. And then, the individual released a grunt.
“Stop!”
Kaboom!
“Gah!” KalTara felt a powerful presence slam down upon him. It buckled his knees until the bones within got cracked. As he struggled to regain control over his body, the individual in the sky spoke.
“This place isn’t safe for the time being.” As he uttered, a golden flash formed around the necks of the natives in the region, “All you’ll do is to empower her growth. So,”
[Get out!]
There were a series of golden flashes in order, fired over a hundred times every second, as quickly, the natives in the Transcended Plane were pushed into the portals, and out of the Influenced Region.
in the case of swarms, they were all constricted by the individual’s presence. So, a piece of Rirenal expanded to form a cage that grabbed them all and pushed them out in one swing. In this way, the entity in the sky took less than a couple minutes to clear out the crowd.
“Argh!” KalTara bellowed as he found himself getting flung into the dirt, a few kilometres away from the portal. Just as he got up, he was surprised to see Yoribu buried under a mound of dirt a fair distance away. “You were flung out too?”
“Seems everyone got thrown out.” Yoribu commented with a foul expression, as she watched a large mountain manifest before the portal to serve as a blockade, “Even I would need some time to bore a hole through it and reach the portal.”
“DAMMIT!” KalTara sprinted at top speed and punched the mountain, shattering his hands in the process as he formed a large crater. However, the mountain was many kilometres thick. It had a porous structure to save upon the energy required to create it, while at the same time, employed an material efficient enough to hold back the top experts of the place who would attempt to break trough the barrier.
As long as the mountain withstood for the required duration, it would have served its purpose.
“Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT!” KalTara rained down punches upon the mountain in desperation, having lost his chance to claim the Seat of Transcendence. He wasn’t alone, as the entity in the sky, Orakha, had thrown out everyone.
