Chapter 481

Author’s Note
Hello, this is Jang Tan! (bowing)
Are you having a meat-filled day? Well, for now, yes. “I Was Mistaken as a Monstrous Genius Actor” has come to an end. I think it started around the end of 2022, and now it’s already March 2024.
A year and several months.
Perhaps because I spent so much time with Kang Woojin, it’s bittersweet to let him go. With 480 chapters, this was the longest series among my works. Honestly, I didn’t plan to serialize it for this long, but once I started writing, I grew more and more ambitious, and here we are.
I’d like to thank all the readers who followed along with Kang Woojin’s life of misunderstandings with me.
Th-This work received a tremendous amount of love right from the beginning, and to me, it’s unforgettable, a work I’ll probably remember for the rest of my writing career. A lot happened, and there were frequent mistakes. Compared to my previous works, my health suffered quite a bit (fingers, wrists, etc.), which I painfully realized again.
I still have a long way to go, whether in terms of skill or effort.
Anyway, “I Was Mistaken as a Monstrous Genius Actor” borrowed ideas from one of my practice drafts.
There were already stories based on misunderstandings, but I wondered, why aren’t there any that combine that with the actor genre? That was the beginning. It was the first story I wrote based on misunderstandings, so I remember how difficult it was. Still, I’m grateful that you enjoyed it despite its shortcomings.
I’ve grown a lot, and I’ve learned many things.
And about Kang Woojin.
Unlike the protagonists of my previous works, I wanted to portray someone truly ordinary, someone you could easily see around you. Thanks to that, I think the various misunderstandings and misinterpretations were conveyed well. Even so, the flaws I need to fix in myself also became glaringly apparent. (tears)
In my next work, I’ll return with a more developed version of myself.
Until then, I hope your days are filled with meat and joy!
Oh, and there’s news about the webtoon adaptation of “I Was Mistaken as a Monstrous Genius Actor”. It seems like it’ll start soon, so I’ll let you know again in a separate announcement then. (TL Note: Webtoon started already)
This got a bit long as I was writing.
Uh- I’d like to thank you again to everyone who helped with this work and to the colleagues around me. And to the readers who supported Kang Woojin and his life until now, I send my endless gratitude once more.
Please accept my deep bow.
Bows.
Then, I’ll see you in the next work. Please.

Hello, this is Dreamscribe!
Thank you to everyone who has stayed with me on this journey of Woojin conquering the acting world. I began translating this novel around the end of May 2023. Having read many Chinese and Japanese novels translated by others on NovelUpdates, I wanted to give back to the community and decided to try translating for fun during some free time. This is the very first novel I’ve translated.
To be honest, I initially thought it would be easy and fun and for a while, it was. Translating the first 70-80 chapters and reading your comments and reviews on NovelUpdates brought me a lot of joy. However, over time, it started to feel more like a chore. That’s when I decided to launch the Patreon. At first, I hadn’t planned on doing that since translating felt enjoyable and casual, but I eventually realized I needed a source of motivation and accountability to keep going. Thanks to everyone who supported me through Patreon- I’m sincerely grateful to each and every one of you.
As for the story itself, I found it intriguing from the start, which is why I picked it up. As author Jang Tan mentioned, the novel was warmly received. Of course, there were mistakes along the way both in the original Korean and in my translations. For instance, due to an error in the raw text, I translated the movie title as ‘Exorcism’ and ended up sticking with it because it became difficult to revise later. Still, I’m incredibly happy that so many of you continued to support the novel and showed love for both the story and my translation.
I could go on and on, but I’ll wrap it up here. Thank you all again for your support and encouragement. Please don’t forget to check out the other novels I’m translating by Author Jang Tan and Author Credo.
P.S. – Please consider leaving a review for this novel and the others I’m working on at NovelUpdates. It really helps. Thank you!
