As that person was being chased, sharp, piercing cries rang out one after another.

With a thunderous rumble, an Ice Phoenix wrapped in raging storms burst out of a nearby demon shrine and swept across the sky.

“Interesting,” Xu Zimo narrowed his eyes slightly.

The Ice Phoenix was incredibly fast. It froze the heavens and earth, seized the fleeing man, tore through the void, and returned to the demon shrine.

Ouyang Xiu and Ji Zhan were badly shaken by the sight.

“These great beasts are at least at the Infinite Dao realm, right?” Ji Zhan asked.

“They are at the Infinite Dao realm. Every single great beast here,” Xu Zimo nodded in confirmation.

No wonder the Malefic Shrine was so famous.

Even Saint Sovereign–level beasts were not qualified to enter this place. Only Infinite Dao ones were allowed.

“Infinite Dao cultivators are really everywhere here in the Upper Heavens, like cabbages,” Ouyang Xiu muttered.

“It looks like we can’t go in.”

“You two wait outside,” Xu Zimo waved his hand.

He never expected the two of them to do much anyway.

Letting them broaden their horizons was enough.

Besides, he had no intention of slowly searching for treasure boxes like everyone else.

Xu Zimo glanced around.

Then he calmly walked into the first demon shrine.

The massive shrine contained its own world within. Inside was a pocket dimension, while white mist billowed endlessly around the perimeter.

A sign hung beside it.

“Residence of the Earthcore Ancient Dragon.”

As Xu Zimo stepped inside, it felt as if he had entered another dimension.

When the white mist dispersed, what appeared before him was a vast desert.

Endless sandstorms swept across the land.

A colossal ancient dragon lay on the ground, seemingly asleep.

On the dragon’s horns atop its head rested a glowing treasure chest.

Xu Zimo walked up and kicked the Earthcore Ancient Dragon on the head.

“Hey, wake up. The sun’s already shining on your ass!”

The Earthcore Ancient Dragon seemed to be sleeping deeply. Xu Zimo applied a bit more strength.

With a loud boom, he actually kicked the Earthcore Ancient Dragon flying.

“Who dares disturb this king’s slumber?!” an angry voice roared.

In the next instant, the world shook. The desert trembled as sandstorms engulfed everything.

Boom, boom, boom.

The Earthcore Ancient Dragon’s massive body slowly rose to its feet.

Its gaze swept across the surroundings before its enormous pupils finally locked onto Xu Zimo.

“Human, do you know what you’re doing?”

“Yes. Help me pass a message to the other great beasts,” Xu Zimo said with a light smile.

“Starting now, all great beasts line up and hand their treasure chests over to me.”

“Are you insane?” the Earthcore Ancient Dragon roared.

It lunged straight at Xu Zimo.

Dragon roars echoed as its massive head opened its bloody maw, biting down.

Xu Zimo drew Shadow Tyrant.

The huge blade jammed directly into the dragon’s open mouth.

Under the force of its bite, the blade pierced straight through its jaws.

A painful howl rang out.

“Human, you’re courting death!”

The Earthcore Ancient Dragon roared in fury.

Its massive tail whipped up a sandstorm and swept toward Xu Zimo.

Xu Zimo’s expression was indifferent.

He activated the Heaven-Shattering Force, the God-Demon Diagram, and the Heaven-Earth Dharma Codex all at once.

In that instant, boundless power surged through him.

Xu Zimo charged forward, grabbed the Earthcore Ancient Dragon by the tail, and slammed it violently into the ground.

Left, right, left, right…

He smashed it dozens of times before finally letting go.

The Earthcore Ancient Dragon was sent flying and crashed to the ground.

At this point, its scales were shattered, flesh mangled, and even one of its dragon horns had broken off halfway.

“You… you…” the Earthcore Ancient Dragon stammered, unable to finish a sentence.

“Didn’t you hear what I said just now?” Xu Zimo asked.

“I… I can’t command the other great beasts,” the Earthcore Ancient Dragon replied weakly.

“It’s fine. Call them all over. I don’t feel like visiting them one by one,” Xu Zimo said calmly.

“If they don’t listen, I’ll just beat them into submission one by one.”

“I’ll go right now,” the Earthcore Ancient Dragon said hastily.

Its body vanished into the mist, clearly eager to leave.

It was obvious the Earthcore Ancient Dragon had its own calculations.

Either it would get to watch the other great beasts suffer the same beating and feel some consolation, or Xu Zimo would be defeated by their combined strength, allowing it to take revenge.

Either outcome pleased it, so it hurried off to summon the others.

Xu Zimo had nothing else to do for the moment.

He opened the Earthcore Ancient Dragon’s treasure chest.

Inside was a dagger.

“Heavenly Antiquity.”

The dagger radiated an intense, razor-sharp aura.

On its surface were two small characters carved in what looked like ancient seal script: Heavenly Antiquity.

The dagger was extremely powerful. When Xu Zimo picked it up, he even felt as though his skin might be sliced open.

“Very good, but not what I’m looking for,” Xu Zimo shook his head.

At that moment, he sensed something and looked toward the north of the Malefic Shrine.

He casually put the dagger away.

Though it was strong, to Xu Zimo it was nothing special.

That day, the Malefic Shrine erupted into chaos.

More than a dozen great beasts flew into the sky.

These dozen or so were all the great beasts of the Malefic Shrine.

Spurred on by the Earthcore Ancient Dragon’s instigation, they came roaring over one by one, brimming with hostility.

“Someone dares cause trouble in our Malefic Shrine?”

“Too arrogant. Do they not know this is our territory?”

“Kill him, kill him!”

Shouts rang out one after another.

Rift-Splitting Hou, divine eagles, ghost beasts, great beasts of every kind stepped through the air.

Finally, more than a dozen gazes locked onto Xu Zimo.

“Kid, it’s you?” one great beast asked impatiently.

“Right now, all of you are surrounded by me alone.”

Xu Zimo raised Shadow Tyrant and smiled.

“Hand over all your treasure chests.”

“Overestimating yourself.”

“Utter nonsense.”

Some of the great beasts erupted in rage and rushed toward Xu Zimo without hesitation.

“Get lost,” Xu Zimo shouted coldly.

With a single kick, the heavens and earth shook as one of the great beasts was sent flying.

“All of you, come at once,” Xu Zimo said calmly, pointing at them one by one.

Without waiting for their response, he drew Shadow Tyrant and charged in.

There was no need for words.

Beat them first.

If one beating wasn’t enough, then beat them again, or kill them.

That was Xu Zimo’s way of doing things.

Shadow Tyrant’s blade intent spread like purgatory, enveloping the sky.

The blade flashed across the heavens, severing the divine eagle’s wings.

Next, Xu Zimo tore the ghost beast apart with his bare hands.

He was ruthless.

If these great beasts were savage, he would be even more savage.

Explosions thundered across the sky.

The entire Malefic Shrine seemed on the verge of being torn apart.

In the end, after a brutal battle, the ground was left in ruins, and the great beasts lay fallen all around.
