I Really Am A Villain

Ch. 1651 - Oblivion Edict Forgotten, Primordial Chaos Bead

Qiangliang seemed to notice Xu Zimo’s hesitation. With a wave of his hand, an arc of lightning condensed in his palm. The spark appeared alive, flickering and leaping between his fingers.

“This is my primordial thunder,” Thunder God Qiangliang said. “When you encounter my descendants, it will respond on its own.”

“And if I never meet them?” Xu Zimo asked.

“Then it means they share no fate with you, and you need not concern yourself,” Qiangliang replied, shaking his head.

“Alright. I agree,” Xu Zimo said with a nod. With this, his final concern vanished. As for whether he truly could protect the descendants for ten thousand years, he already had his own plans.

“Good. Then receive my legacy.”

From the center of Qiangliang’s brow, a seed of thunder drifted outward. It twisted in the air as though conscious, carrying with it a newly awakened surge of thunderous might.

“Plant this thunder seed within your heart,” Qiangliang said. “When it sprouts and takes root, the legacy will awaken.”

Xu Zimo did not resist. The seed entered between his brows. A tingling sensation washed through him, as though arcs of lightning coiled around his entire body. Especially within his spirit sea, thunder gathered densely, waves of lightning forming countless thunder seas, surging violently within him.

This alone proved how powerful the thunder truly was.

The thunder seas roared. Thunder ripped through the surrounding darkness, linking Xu Zimo and Qiangliang together.

“My ultimate technique, the Life-Death Void-Destruction Lightning, is the essence of my legacy. Watch closely.”

Qiangliang’s voice echoed. At that moment, Xu Zimo’s sight and inner world were completely engulfed in a waterfall of lightning. The crackling detonations echoed unceasingly.

He slowly opened his eyes, a streak of lightning flashing across them. Within his spirit sea, thunder had already gathered into clusters of storm clouds, roaring endlessly.

These were no ordinary lightning bolts, but the profound thunder of the Ninth Heaven. The Life-Death Void-Destruction Lightning drew upon heavenly lightning to annihilate all before it.

Though Xu Zimo had opened his eyes, his mind remained deeply immersed in the legacy. The Dao of Thunder flowed through his heart as he continued to comprehend them. The thunder seed within him had already sprouted; it was growing rapidly, like the root of all his thunder comprehension. The legacies of the other Ancient Gods became like branches and leaves, merging naturally into the thunder.

“You’re impressive. You comprehend quickly,” Qiangliang said. He could clearly sense the surging thunder within Xu Zimo. Xu Zimo had essentially grasped the foundation.

“I’m still far inferior to you, senior,” Xu Zimo replied.

“You should be thinking about how to leave this place now,” Qiangliang said.

“You mean there’s no way through the end behind you?” Xu Zimo asked.

“Not even with all my strength could I move it an inch,” Qiangliang answered with a bitter smile. “Otherwise I would never have been forced to separate my soul and abandon my body. If you wish to leave, I cannot help you.”

“Then I’ll walk around and take a look,” Xu Zimo said.

He knew brute force was pointless. If even the Thunder God could not destroy this place, how could he? His only choice was to search for some hidden path or opening. He refused to believe this place was a dead end. When he first entered, the Oblivion Edict itself had stated that this was a place of trial, those who passed would inherit the legacy.

So Xu Zimo wandered through the abyss, exploring as he went. Meanwhile, he reviewed his strength. As his cultivation increased, many of his old moves had become obsolete. Only the Ten Primordial God-Scriptures, the Ten Forms of Demon, the Ancient God legacies, and his Sky-Split blade intent remained effective.

In truth, his arsenal was incredibly strong and diverse, covering nearly every type of attack. But the stronger he became, approaching the realm of Infinite Dao, the more he realized that although his techniques were powerful, he could not yet draw out their full potential.

The Ten Forms of Demon were created by the previous Infernal Lord. With such a being’s strength, they should rank among the most supreme techniques in existence. Yet Xu Zimo always felt something was missing. Even the Ten Primordial God-Scriptures, famed across the Nine Heavens, were beginning to lose effectiveness against higher-realm cultivators.

Deep in thought, he continued walking.

The abyss was vast. At first he tracked time, seven days, one month, two months… but eventually his sense of time faded. He walked endlessly and still had not circled the entire abyss.

Anyone watching closely would have noticed his figure growing increasingly faint, as though being swallowed by the darkness.

Within the abyss, the red-robed woman and the white-robed youth sat nearby.

“That guy has been walking for almost half a year now,” the red-robed woman said idly.

“Half a year… he should have been consumed by the abyss by now,” the white-robed youth replied.

“A pity. He wasn’t an exception after all,” the red-robed woman sighed. “I thought he had some potential.”

Before their eyes, Xu Zimo’s form was finally swallowed completely by the darkness. They both understood what awaited him.

As the darkness engulfed him, Xu Zimo’s expression remained solemn. Unseen to others, the Primordial Chaos Bead was rotating slowly within him.

“Since I cannot defeat you… then I shall join you,” Xu Zimo said calmly.

The Oblivion Edict surged through his body. For the past half year, besides organizing his own abilities, he had been constantly studying the Oblivion Edict.

He could grasp any Dao in existence, including this one.

And so he used the Oblivion Edict to begin merging himself with the abyss. He sought to become one with it. This might be the only path to escape.

After a year of effort, he finally succeeded.

The darkness did not harm him. Instead, it felt warm, comforting, even. As though he truly was becoming part of the abyss.

Suddenly, a powerful force of the Oblivion Edict erupted from his body, soaring upward like an eagle taking flight, like a great whale breaking through the sea, piercing through all resistance and rushing toward the end of the abyss, striking the darkness again and again.

Then something astonishing happened.

For the first time ever, the Oblivion Edict, which forgets all things, shuddered.

“Oblivion Edict… have you forgotten yourself?”
