I Really Am A Villain

Ch. 1471 - The Red Enemy Slain, Clues About Ancient Poison God

This was a very practical problem.

Even if the Water God Gongtu could control the giant, if Xu Zimo’s power wasn’t strong enough, he still wouldn’t be able to kill it.

If it were just an ordinary red man, he could destroy it easily with the Myriad Streams.

But now, the red man’s scale was enormous. Xu Zimo estimated that even the Myriad Streams might not be enough to deal with it.

“Use Deluge of Desolation, separate them, then defeat them one by one,” Water God Gongtu shouted.

“Their Pseudo-Infinite Dao power was not earned through their own cultivation. I believe that method must come with severe side effects.”

“For now, that’s our only option,” Xu Zimo nodded.

To be honest, he had no other way to deal with the massive creature in front of him.

The red man roared, releasing faint currents of the power of Primordial Edicts beneath his Pseudo-Infinite Dao level.

The power of Primordial Edicts, something beyond the power of Primal Daos, was one of the core forces that made up the very fabric of the world.

The red man roared again, stepping toward Xu Zimo.

Strangely, though his steps weren’t fast, each movement gave Xu Zimo a suffocating sense that there was nowhere to escape.

Beneath his feet, the power of Primordial Edicts surged and rolled, as though he was measuring the heavens and earth themselves with every stride.

Xu Zimo gripped Shadow Tyrant. His powerful blade intent surged violently as he launched a probing strike.

But his attacks were like stones sinking into the ocean, utterly ineffective.

He couldn’t harm the red giant at all, not even stir up the faintest ripple.

Xu Zimo frowned.

An Infinite Dao being’s power was overwhelming, just a half–step to Infinite Dao was already enough to make him feel suffocated.

When the red man attacked again, Xu Zimo retreated rapidly.

That was when Water God Gongtu made his move.

The azure dragon rose and coiled through the air, its divine might sealing and suppressing the entire void.

The dragon roared as currents of rule power spread out from its vast body.

A thunderous explosion echoed through the void as Gongtu’s power of Primordial Edicts clashed with that of the red man, two ultimate forces detonating in collision.

Xu Zimo looked up.

The dragon’s body had stretched to a length of millions of meters, its vast form wrapping around the red man entirely.

The red giant struggled frantically, but the dragon’s grip was unyielding, leaving no chance to break free.

At that moment, Gongtu’s strained voice rang out.

“Hurry up! I can’t hold him for long.”

Xu Zimo nodded. He raised both hands, summoning the Myriad Streams, which coiled around him like an endless river.

The immense current surged outward, engulfing the red giant from all sides.

“Deluge of Desolation!” Xu Zimo shouted, sweeping his right hand.

The powerful torrent collided head-on with the red man.

He could feel it clearly, the red man was fused from many beings, while the Myriad Streams was pervasive, seeping into every gap, trying to tear the fusion apart.

But even as the two forces wrestled, Xu Zimo realized that with his current strength, breaking the red man apart was still difficult.

Even with his divine technique, Deluge of Desolation, it wasn’t enough.

He frowned again.

He knew they couldn’t drag this out, Water God Gongtu wouldn’t be able to hold much longer.

Xu Zimo waved his hand, summoning all the Infernal Archons from within the God World.

“All of you, lend me your strength. Let’s destroy this red man!” Xu Zimo commanded.

“Yes, my lord!” the Infernal Archons replied in unison.

Their demonic energy erupted, surging into the sky before flowing directly into Xu Zimo’s body.

In that moment, Xu Zimo felt as if he had become just like the red man, drawing in endless power, growing stronger by the second.

His eyes blazed as his cultivation rose rapidly.

He knew it was because he and the Infernal Archons shared the same demonic essence, their powers could merge seamlessly.

If it had been any other kind of energy, such fusion would have been impossible.

With eyes like burning torches, Xu Zimo suddenly heard a deafening “boom” from within his body.

He lifted his head, his aura surging even more violently.

Stepping through the air, Xu Zimo charged toward the red man.

Under his command, the Myriad Streams expanded from a vast lake into a boundless ocean, roaring forward with unstoppable might.

The red giant bellowed in fury, struggling desperately as it sensed Xu Zimo’s sudden increase in power.

“Just a little more!” Xu Zimo shouted.

His momentum continued to climb.

With each step forward, his expression twisted with strain.

Behind him, Paimon and the others poured out their infernal energy to the limit.

Xu Zimo’s mind went blank, he no longer knew how long it had lasted.

Then suddenly, a massive explosion snapped him back to awareness.

The sound was so loud it shook him to his core, the shockwave flinging him backward through the air.

The void rippled violently.

As Xu Zimo fell, he looked up to see the area where the red man had been exploding continuously.

The giant’s massive body was rapidly breaking apart.

“Did we do it?” he shouted in delight.

“You did,” came the weak voice of Water God Gongtu.

“Are you all right?” Xu Zimo asked urgently.

“I was already doomed to die. Whether I’m fine or not doesn’t matter,” Gongtu replied faintly.

“But before I go, I’ll tell you the information I know about the Poison God, Shebishi.”

“Quick, tell me,” Xu Zimo urged anxiously.

He was truly afraid Gongtu might die before speaking, after all that effort defeating the red man, it would be a huge loss to gain nothing.

“The Poison God Shebishi was unlike the other Ancient Gods,” Gongtu said with a weak laugh.

“His inheritance was never hidden. In fact, he made it known to the world. He left behind eleven hundred inheritances across the Nine Heavens, but it’s said that only one is genuine. For millions of years, many of these supposed inheritances have appeared, one after another, but all turned out to be fake. However, I know that his true inheritance lies in the hands of his mount, the Undying Poison Beast.”

“The Undying Poison Beast?” Xu Zimo frowned slightly.

“That’s right. In a sense, it is immortal, because it cannot be considered a true living creature. It was a being born from the fusion of spirit energy,” Gongtu explained. “Its body is formed entirely of spirit energy. As long as there is spirit energy in heaven and earth, it can never die. Its consciousness was something Shebishi bestowed upon it, a consciousness of a dead thing. That means its mind will never change, and so, it cannot truly die. Its sole purpose for existing is to resurrect Shebishi.”

“Can a person really be brought back to life in this world?” Xu Zimo asked, curiosity flickering in his eyes.

He had always wondered, if a soul in the Mirage Tides Heaven hadn’t been collected, could a person be revived?

“In this world, nothing is ever absolute,” Gongtu said with a faint smile. “Perhaps there is a way. But I don’t know it. If I did, I wouldn’t have ended up like this.”
