I Really Am A Villain

Ch. 1415 - Fire Ancestor, Ghost-Devouring Death Insect

New Novel🪶

The undead corpses howled as they charged forth, pouring out from the spreading tide of blood like an endless wave.

Spectral Prince snorted coldly and commanded, “Tear him to pieces!”

Seeing this, Xu Zimo only shook his head slightly. These blood-colored corpses were not illusions or condensed from energy, they were real bodies.

Every time Spectral Prince killed someone, he refined their remains into his personal army of walking corpses. Among the ghost clan, this cultivation method was vicious beyond measure, one that defied the natural order and denied its victims any peace even in death.

“Don’t worry,” Spectral Prince sneered. “You’ll join them soon enough. With your strength, being refined into one of my servants wouldn’t be a bad outcome.”

Xu Zimo didn’t answer. Instead, he waved his right hand. Instantly, the ocean of bloody energy surged toward him.

To Spectral Prince’s shock, Xu Zimo opened his mouth and swallowed it all. Every last trace of blood aura vanished into him.

Xu Zimo licked his lips. “That level of energy? Barely a drizzle.”

Without that power sustaining them, the undead puppets collapsed to the ground. Their strength had come entirely from the blood energy that was now gone.

“You… what did you do?” Spectral Prince’s face twisted in disbelief. “That’s impossible. It can’t be!”

“There’s no such thing as impossible,” Xu Zimo said calmly. “You just haven’t seen enough of this world’s horrors.”

Blood light spread from his palm as he lifted it.

Then, under his control, the fallen corpses stood up once again, this time, obeying him.

“Let you taste your own tricks,” Xu Zimo said, waving his hand. “Kill him.”

The horde of corpses rushed toward Spectral Prince.

Spectral Prince scoffed. “I didn’t fear you in life, why would I fear you in death?”

He pulled out a small bottle from his robe. It was transparent, its surface sealed with the power of time and space.

The moment it appeared, those who recognized it blanched in horror. Even the spectators instinctively backed several steps away from the arena.

Inside the bottle were several winged insects, golden-winged but dark-bodied, slumbering quietly. At first glance, they looked harmless. But those who knew their true nature understood that they were anything but.

“It’s the Ghost-Devouring Death Insect!” someone cried.

“No way! The Spectral Valley actually gave him those?”

“You must be mistaken!”

“What are Ghost-Devouring Death Insects?”

The crowd was split between disbelief and confusion, until an old man stepped forward and explained, his face pale.

“They’re exactly that. I saw one kill my friend with my own eyes. Do you remember when the nation of Tranquil Heaven fell? One night, the entire kingdom vanished, people, plants, animals, buildings, all gone. It was later confirmed the Ghost-Devouring Death Insects were responsible.”

“That’s right. The event shook the world back then. These insects haven’t been seen for years!”

“That youth is doomed. I’ve heard they love to feed on brain matter. They don’t kill you quickly, they eat you slowly, piece by piece.”

Inside the Chaos Fire God Realm, several red-robed elders watching the match went pale as well.

One of them snorted. “Outrageous. The Spectral Valley’s getting more shameless by the year. This is a duel, not a massacre, and he’s actually using such a monster? That’s cheating.”

“But technically, we never said they couldn’t use external tools,” another elder replied.

“In any case, we should intervene,” a third said gravely. “If those Ghost-Devouring Death Insects get loose, they could devastate the entire Chaos Fire God Realm.”

After speaking, they all turned to the figure seated at the head of the hall. Only his word could decide.

The man at the top was silent for a long moment before he smiled.

“You’re all focused on the insects,” he said. “But haven’t you noticed that young man named Xu Zimo? In just a few exchanges, he’s forced Spectral Prince into such a state that he had no choice but to use those creatures. When did our Chaos Fire God Realm last see such a genius?”

“Fire Ancestor, we’ll send people to investigate him immediately,” one of the elders said.

“No rush,” the Fire Ancestor said, shaking his head. “I have a feeling he’ll be Anshan’s greatest rival.”

“Fire Ancestor, isn’t that an exaggeration?” another elder asked with a smile. “We trained Anshan ourselves, we know his power well.”

“I can see through Anshan,” the Fire Ancestor replied. “But this Xu Zimo, I can’t see through him at all.”

At those words, one of the elders suddenly realized something.

“Then when Blade Tyrant caused trouble here earlier, and you didn’t stop him, was that to test Xu Zimo?”

“Exactly. But Blade Tyrant was useless. After all this time, he accomplished nothing.”

The Fire Ancestor’s tone remained calm. “Let’s just keep watching. I want to see how he handles the Ghost-Devouring Death Insects.”

On the arena platform, Spectral Prince looked proud, relishing the fear in the crowd’s eyes. He loved that feeling of control.

Then his gaze locked onto Xu Zimo.

“Your time is up,” he declared.

He crushed the bottle in his hand. The moment it shattered, the dormant Ghost-Devouring Death Insects awoke.

These creatures should not have existed at all.

They were brought back from the Mirage Tides Heaven itself by the Spectral Valley’s old ancestor. When he obtained the Spectral Flame ages ago, he had also captured these insects.

They could not die. No matter how many times they were killed or how grievously they were wounded, they would revive endlessly.

Their antennae were especially lethal, sharp enough that even a Grand Emperor, once pierced, would have his brain drained and all inner power sealed away in an instant.

That was their true terror. You couldn’t let them touch you, one sting meant certain death.

“Kill!” Spectral Prince commanded.

A dense swarm of insects buzzed into motion, filling the air with an overwhelming whirring as they dove toward Xu Zimo.

Xu Zimo lifted his hand, and flames burst forth, engulfing the entire swarm in an inferno.

The sound of crackling fire filled the arena as the insects burned to ash.

But moments later, the ashes stirred, the insects’ bodies darkened with death energy, and they all revived, completely unharmed, and this time unafraid of the flames.

“Give it up,” Spectral Prince laughed wildly. “The Ghost-Devouring Death Insects cannot be killed. They come from the depths of the Mirage Tides Heaven itself, they are deathless!”

“Only an idiot would believe in something like immortality,” Xu Zimo said with a faint smile. “Even the ghosts of the Nether Realm can die. What makes you think a few bugs could escape that truth?”
