Ch. 1319 - The Infernal Lord Descends, Ancient Demons Awaken
New Novel🪶
The demonic Golden Crow roared into the world, its enormous body almost covering half the sky. Those around quickly retreated, afraid of being caught in the coming storm. Its wings stirred the clouds, its gaze flashed like lightning, its power alone shook the hearts of all who watched.
With a furious shout, Hong Jun commanded the massive Golden Crow to tear through the air and attack Xu Zimo.
“Hong Jun, must you take this so far?” Virtuous Heaven Demon frowned. He served under the Ancestral Warden and was one of his line. He had been ordered not to intervene in this matter unless absolutely necessary. If things escalated, it would reflect poorly on him.
“Brother Virtuous,” Hong Jun said coldly, “don’t say I didn’t give you face. With so many watching today, if I back down now, what becomes of my dignity as the Mountain Lord of the Sun Mountain?”
Virtuous Heaven Demon frowned slightly. He understood Hong Jun’s meaning. With his status and so many subordinates present, retreating would make him lose all authority.
“So be it,” Virtuous Heaven Demon said at last. “Do as you please. If the Ancestral Warden wants to worry, let him. If not, the leader will.”
As the demonic Golden Crow charged toward him, Xu Zimo’s gaze remained calm.
Hong Jun’s strength was formidable, he had reached the level of a Grand Emperor. The Nomological Truths he had mastered were twofold. The Nomological Truth of Demons and the Nomological Truth of Fire.
Xu Zimo was slightly surprised. It seemed the Ancient Demons were born able to comprehend these two laws. The Nomological Truth of Demons was innate, one possessed it even without deliberate cultivation. Hong Jun’s Nomological Truth of Fire came from his mastery of the Golden Crow’s power.
Just like in the Ancient Demon Road, the Malevolent Demon had grasped both the Primal Dao of Void and the Primal Dao of Demons. But Xu Zimo didn’t mind. The stronger the Ancient Demons, the more useful it was for him.
He waved his right hand, and unseen power began to move. Water naturally overcomes fire, and the Primal Daos of heaven and earth are built upon mutual generation and restraint, just as all things are born from balance.
Behind him, another Golden Crow took shape, but this one was formed from water essence.
“The Golden Crow is a creature of fire,” Hong Jun sneered. “What use is water against it?”
The two demonic Golden Crows flew through the void, their immense infernal energy filling the heavens.
“Die!” Hong Jun shouted, his flames surging high enough to melt the very air.
With a thunderous explosion, the two Golden Crows collided. Their screams echoed through the sky, but Hong Jun’s Golden Crow was completely destroyed in an instant, reduced to ashes.
Hong Jun staggered back, vomiting blood, his figure trembling as he nearly fell.
“Father!” cried Hong Ze.
“Mountain Lord!” shouted the Ancient Demons of Sun Mountain, panic spreading among them. They quickly began to fan out, trying to surround Xu Zimo.
“I’m fine,” Hong Jun said after taking a deep breath. His pale face regained some color.
“When did our Ancient Demon Race gain a figure like you?” he asked, no longer showing any trace of arrogance. The brief clash had made it clear, he had lost.
He prided himself on knowing every strong demon in the clan, yet he had never seen Xu Zimo before.
“Since we’ve already started fighting,” Xu Zimo said calmly, “then I suppose I should properly teach you a lesson.”
“We’ll see if you have that ability!” Hong Jun’s expression turned fierce as he unleashed his full might. His infernal energy surged wildly, accompanied by the overwhelming pressure of imperial power.
Before long, the infernal energy around him began to liquefy, producing a sound like flowing water. The thick, black Demonic Marsh spread outward, endless and vast.
“It’s the Demonic Marsh!” someone exclaimed.
“Legend says the Sun Mountain is one of the Ancient Demon Race’s extreme Yin lands,” another murmured. “It uses solar power to suppress the Yin. But the Mountain Lord cultivates fire laws, how could he manifest a Demonic Marsh?”
The surrounding crowd buzzed with speculation.
“The Demonic Marsh is born of heavy water, nourished for centuries by infernal energy,” explained a more learned onlooker. “Even if Hong Jun’s marsh isn’t vast, few can withstand it.”
As the marsh’s power grew, Hong Jun’s form became shrouded within it. A single droplet fell to the ground, boring a deep hole through the earth.
With a wave of his hand, the energy within his meridians surged like dragons. When he opened his eyes, their ferocity matched the roar of thunder.
“Kill!” he shouted, and the Demonic Marsh surged toward Xu Zimo.
Xu Zimo remained silent. He decided it was time to reveal his true identity.
For Ancient Demons, what better way to declare one’s identity than through sheer, overwhelming power?
A faint smile appeared on his lips as the Hell-Suppressing Demon Physique awakened.
Unlike ordinary infernal energy, his became purer, majestic and regal, like a king born to rule.
The surrounding Ancient Demons felt the crushing weight of his aura. It was the pressure of sovereignty itself, as though his very existence commanded their submission.
From his black eyes, infernal energy erupted. Violet markings spread across his face, tracing down to his nose. His black hair flowed wildly despite the still air, and his presence grew like a raging storm that swallowed the sky.
“What terrifying infernal energy…” someone whispered.
“When did our Ancient Demon Race produce such a being?”
“If he’s strong, then good,” another said. “It means our people will rise again!”
The crowd murmured in awe. Only Hong Jun’s face turned pale as death.
He could tell, he was no match for Xu Zimo.
But it was too late to stop. The arrow had been nocked; it had to fly.
The Demonic Marsh roared forward.
Many of the younger Ancient Demons failed to recognize the Hell-Suppressing Demon Physique. They had never seen the legendary Infernal Lord, they only knew fragments of old tales.
But among the elders of the Ancient Demon Race, ancient ones still lingered.
In the library, the old man who had once read alongside Xu Zimo paused. His eyes lifted toward the distant sky as an immense wave of infernal energy rose into the heavens.
He stood slowly and walked toward the window. A ragged old man burst through the door.
“Demon Sage, this…” he began, at a loss for words.
The old man only laughed heartily. “We will ascend to fight against the Heavenly Court,” he said. “Let the immortals and gods tremble before our return!”
Meanwhile, in another corner of the Ancient Demon Realm, within a world sealed by endless frost, snow and ice blanketed everything. Countless demonic dragons lay frozen, long since dead, yet their corpses served as resting places for something else.
Then, a black, skeletal hand tore through the side of a dragon’s corpse. The tear widened until a colossal figure stepped out from within.
“He’s here,” the being said, his voice echoing through the icy void. “After half a billion years of waiting, the reckoning… finally begins.”
His words shattered the ice and rumbled through the frozen lands, lingering endlessly in the storm.
