Ch. 1247 - My Own Eternal Primal Dao
The Eternal Emperor’s expression grew solemn. His right hand reached into the void and, inch by inch, drew forth the Eternal Sword. Even though they were fighting inside Sun-Moon Tower, no one dared to intervene. After all, this branch in Royal City was only a subsidiary; those stationed here did not have the power to restrain two Grand Emperors. Only if the main headquarters sent a true powerhouse could the battle be suppressed.
“Three Forms of Eternal Sword,” the Emperor said coldly. With a swing of his sword, a sky-piercing beam of light burst through the roof of Sun-Moon Tower, illuminating half the heavens. For a moment, heaven and earth inverted. The line of light across the sky seemed to bend under his will.
“Heaven-Earth Unbound!”
At that moment, the world fell silent. The eight trigrams of heaven and earth shifted positions as endless sword intent surged through the void. Though the countless sword auras appeared chaotic and without order, each was precisely aligned with the transformations of the Eight Trigrams, one birthing two, two birthing three, and so on into infinity.
This was the Dao of Infinite Cosmos.
A suffocating killing intent swept across the heavens, carried by an endless tide of immortal swordforce, unyielding and indestructible, impossible to absorb or disperse.
“The Primal Dao of Eternity, hmm,” Xu Zimo murmured, shaking his head slightly.
At the tip of his blade, the same Eternal Primal Dao began to manifest. Within his body lay an entire world, and every Primal Dao that existed within that world was his to command.
Lately, Xu Zimo had developed a fondness for using his opponents’ own Daos against them.
It wasn’t just effective, it was way too funny.
The Eternal Emperor’s eyes widened in disbelief as he thought Xu Zimo had comprehended the very same Primal Dao as he had.
Shadow Tyrant cleaved toward the heavens, gathering its own eternal swordforce. No matter how many immortal sword auras filled the air, Xu Zimo’s single strike seemed to eclipse heaven and earth, making mountains tremble and rivers collapse.
A golden blade aura burst forth, over a hundred meters long, radiating a power that seemed to draw in everything around it.
The Emperor’s expression darkened. “A Primal Dao…!”
As a Grand Emperor, he recognized it instantly. Nothing short of a true Primal Dao could compel his eternal swordforce to converge on someone else’s attack like this.
With the infusion of immortal sword energy, the golden blade aura grew even stronger, an unstoppable force cutting straight toward the Eternal Emperor.
The Emperor’s body flickered, surrounded by swirling sword intent. He ripped open the void and leapt from the collapsing tower.
A moment later, a deafening explosion shook the heavens.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The shockwaves rolled across Royal City. Residents looked up in horror to see the famous Sun-Moon Tower collapsing like paper under a storm. Clouds of dust billowed skyward as the ground trembled beneath their feet.
Before the people could even react, someone cried out, “Look! It’s the Eternal Emperor!”
High above, the Emperor stood in midair, his face grim as he gazed toward the ruins below.
From the swirling dust, a lone figure emerged, carrying a wide black blade over his shoulder.
The crowd instinctively backed away. A battle between Emperors was something no mortal could even approach, the shockwaves alone could obliterate them.
“Who are you?” the Eternal Emperor demanded, his voice cold. “You’ve not yet attained sainthood, how can you wield the power of Primal Dao? Could it be… you are Lu Sheng himself?”
“If you’re that curious,” Xu Zimo said with a grin, “you can ask Lu Sheng yourself, once you’re in the Underworld.”
He hurled Shadow Tyrant forward.
The blade tore through the void, colliding violently with the Eternal Sword.
The clash resounded like thunder. The Eternal Emperor’s arm trembled under the impact. When he glanced down, he saw fine cracks spreading across his Eternal Sword.
“Sword Technique, Second Form, Heaven-Thunder Judgment!”
The sword’s tip pointed toward the heavens. Instantly, the sky responded. Thunder rumbled through the air though no storm clouds were present. Silver-white lightning twisted into countless shapes, pillars, dragons, and even the visage of the Thunder God himself.
“Immortal Lightning!” The Emperor’s low shout sent ten thousand bolts crashing down from the heavens.
It was as if the end of the world had arrived. Half of Royal City was engulfed in lightning.
The terrified citizens below screamed and scattered like frightened rats, desperate to escape the falling bolts.
Only Xu Zimo stood calm amidst the storm, lightning crackling around his body as the Primal Dao of Thunder began to surge within him.
“Transforming into thunder, so what?” he said quietly.
“You… possess two Primal Daos?” the Eternal Emperor asked, frowning.
He couldn’t believe it. The Eternal Primal Dao and the Thunder Primal Dao, both identical to his own? It was as though this man’s power existed solely to counter him.
Xu Zimo gave no reply. The Emperor before him was only at the second stage of the Grand Emperor realm, Void Tribulant, and thus even weaker than him.
Crackling thunder coiled around Xu Zimo’s form. When the countless lightning bolts descended, he spread his arms wide and merged into them, his body transforming into pure thunder.
Together with the storm, he swept across the city like a divine cataclysm, annihilating half of Royal City in a single strike.
Several miles away, the members of the Lu Heavenly Clan watched with pale faces, hearts pounding.
“This… this Young Master Xu is terrifying,” Ji Changnian stammered. “He’s holding his own against the Eternal Emperor!”
“Not just holding his own,” Lu Nanyi said calmly. “He’s beating the crap out of him. With strength like that, he must be someone of great importance from another heaven.”
“Do you think he really was sent by Ancestor Lu?” Zhan Jun asked quietly.
“Whether he was or not doesn’t matter,” Lu Nanyi replied. “As long as our Lu Heavenly Clan survives, that’s enough.”
She turned to Zhan Jun. “Cousin, go back to Lu City at once. Tell Father and the clan everything that’s happening here.”
“What about you?” Zhan Jun asked.
“I can’t leave yet. There are things I must discuss with Young Master Xu,” she said, shaking her head.
Zhan Jun hesitated, then nodded solemnly. “Take care.”
As he departed, Ji Changnian looked torn. “Nanyi, I…”
“If the Lu Heavenly Clan survives this crisis, we’ll marry,” Lu Nanyi said softly, smiling at him. “But if we don’t…”
“Then I’ll die with you,” Ji Changnian interrupted firmly.
Lu Nanyi smiled again, her black hair fluttering in the wind, beautiful and resolute.
Back in Royal City, as the last echoes of thunder faded, the Eternal Emperor’s eyes scanned the horizon.
He did not believe for a moment that an attack of this level could kill Xu Zimo.
