Ch. 1192 - Stuffed To Death
“The World-Devouring Ghost God,” someone from the Ghost God Collegium muttered, glancing at the others.
“Didn’t they say the World-Devouring Ghost God Race was extinct? How can there still be one alive?”
“Yeah, that race was wiped out tens of thousands of years ago! If the Seven Gods Collegium is sheltering a World-Devouring Ghost God, are they trying to start a war with the Three Divisions?”
For a moment, everyone whispered in disbelief. No one had expected that Hong Yu was actually from the World-Devouring Ghost God Race.
Within the Ghost God Heaven, there were countless branches of Ghost Gods. Legend had it that the Ghost Gods were originally humans, mutated by the divine radiation that remained after the war between the Gods and the Ghosts.
Whether that was true or not, no one could prove it. The true origin of the Ghost Gods had always been a mystery.
Wu Daozi sat nearby, chuckling. “Chancellor Feng, what boldness you have, taking in even a World-Devouring Ghost God.”
“What’s the problem?” Feng Buxiu turned to him calmly.
“Have you forgotten the tragedy of the Three Divisions?” Wu Daozi asked.
“It’s still vivid in my memory,” Feng Buxiu replied.
“As long as you remember,” Wu Daozi warned. “The mistakes of the past should serve as a warning for those who follow.”
“I don’t care for lofty sayings,” Feng Buxiu said. “We are an academy, our duty is to teach all who come to learn.”
“Chancellor Wu, your attitude is not fitting for a head of an academy.”
“Are you lecturing me now?” Wu Daozi shot back. “Under my leadership, the Ghost God Collegium has flourished. I don’t need your advice. It’s the Three Divisions that should be your concern.”
“Enough talk,” Feng Buxiu said coolly. “Every academy governs itself in its own way. We walk different paths, there’s no point in arguing.”
After that, both men fell silent and turned their eyes to the battle on the willow platform.
When Hong Yu transformed into the World-Devouring Ghost God, he opened his enormous mouth and inhaled sharply. A limitless suction force burst out, forming violent whirlwinds that seemed strong enough to rip the colossal Heavenly Willow from its roots.
But the Heavenly Willow was no ordinary tree, it glowed with green light, anchoring itself deep in the ground to resist the suction. The surrounding willows, however, weren’t so lucky. They were all torn from the soil, some even snapping in half, and swallowed whole by Hong Yu’s massive mouth.
Up on the viewing platform, Feng Buxiu’s face turned grim. Even they dared not get too close to that monstrous mouth. He held up the Wind-Stabilizing Pearl, forming a barrier in front of himself to block the violent storm.
At the center of it all, Xu Zimo bore the full brunt of the gale. He narrowed his eyes and drove his weapon, Shadow Tyrant, deep into the earth.
Yet the storm only grew stronger. Even though the blade was buried nearly a hundred meters down, the sheer force still dragged it through the soil, carving a straight line across the ground.
As the distance between him and the giant mouth shrank, Xu Zimo’s gaze sharpened.
He yanked Shadow Tyrant from the ground, its blade light stretching a hundred meters long, and slashed directly at Hong Yu.
But the enormous mouth devoured every strand of blade energy, swallowing it whole.
“You like to eat so much? Fine,” Xu Zimo said coldly. “Let’s see how much you can handle.”
Chaotic energy swirled behind him as a vast azure planet manifested in the sky, descending with overwhelming pressure that shattered the surrounding void.
Xu Zimo lifted Shadow Tyrant high. His aura surged like a tidal wave, shaking heaven and earth.
“Go!” he commanded, swinging his arm.
The azure planet dissolved into a mass of luminous energy, expanding rapidly as it hurtled toward Hong Yu’s mouth.
Even before it reached him, the sheer force distorted the World-Devouring Ghost’s jaw. Hong Yu screamed in agony but still forced himself to devour it, trying to swallow the entire planet like a snake swallowing an elephant.
Before the stunned eyes of all present, Hong Yu actually swallowed an entire world.
But how could a mere Ghost God possibly digest the power of a planet?
Moments later, Hong Yu’s expression changed drastically. The immense energy within him surged violently.
Explosions rumbled from inside his body.
He collapsed to the ground, rolling and screaming, the sound chilling to the bone.
Xu Zimo raised his hand, intending to recall the God World. But with a thunderous boom, the azure planet burst out of Hong Yu’s body.
In an instant, his flesh and blood splattered apart, his veins ruptured, and he was reduced to a mangled heap of meat.
Even so, he didn’t die immediately. The pile of flesh twitched and began to reform.
Xu Zimo recalled the planet and gripped Shadow Tyrant. Blade energy and divine will fused along its edge, making the entire weapon tremble as if unable to contain the power flowing through it.
“Kill.”
Xu Zimo raised the curved blade over his head and brought it down with devastating force.
“Wait!” Feng Buxiu shouted from the viewing platform. “Honored one, please stay your hand!”
Xu Zimo glanced up, the killing intent still surging from his weapon as it drew in all the surrounding spirit energy.
“What is it?” he asked.
“Spare him,” Feng Buxiu pleaded. “We’ll offer any price.”
“No,” Xu Zimo said, shaking his head.
“The Tears of the Seven Gods? Or the Martial God’s Blade?” Feng Buxiu pressed, desperate.
“You still don’t get it,” Xu Zimo said coldly. “It’s not about what you offer. I’m just not in the mood to let him live.”
As his words fell, Shadow Tyrant came crashing down.
A blinding light burst across the battlefield, brilliant for an instant, then all-consuming.
Even the willow platform beneath their feet split open, leaving a jagged, irreparable crack.
With that strike, Hong Yu’s soul and body were obliterated together.
Seeing this, Feng Buxiu slumped into his seat, utterly drained.
Xu Zimo sheathed his blade, scanned the silent crowd, and turned to leave.
The entire field was dead quiet.
Wu Daozi smirked, looking toward Feng Buxiu. “Chancellor Feng, shall we continue the match?
Or are you out of contestants? Oh, that’s right, you only brought one student today.”
“Borrowing another’s power, what’s there to compare?” Feng Buxiu said coldly as he stood.
“The match is over. We’re returning to the academy.
Chancellor Wu, if you ever visit the Seven Gods Collegium, I’ll be sure to give you a proper welcome.”
His tone was low, every word dripping with restrained fury.
“Let’s go.”
At his command, all the white-robed figures followed him out.
“Chancellor,” Nocturne whispered from beside Wu Daozi.
“Come with me,” Wu Daozi said, his smile fading as he rose.
Outside the Willowfluff Space, Xu Zimo hadn’t gone far before Wu Daozi and his group caught up to him.
