Chapter 610 - 610: Julian's order
“You are the ones my daughters have trusted with ruling the Throne of Gods,” he said, his voice carrying through the chamber. “And it seems you are doing the right thing as well.”
The five bowed in unison, relief visible on four of their faces.
“However,” Julian continued, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop slightly, “you five are too weak to be considered true rulers.”
They froze. Even Lilithara’s confident posture stiffened momentarily.
“You will be given my teachings,” Julian declared. “And I expect you all to reach Mid Demi-God realm within five years.”
The silence that followed was suffocating. All five stared at him in shock—such advancement was considered nearly impossible. Nerida looked at Thaldrin, hoping he would speak for them. Sensing her gaze, Thaldrin opened his mouth, but before he could form words, Lilithara spoke.
“My Lord,” she said, her voice still composed despite the shock. “We are just subjects of your creation. How could weak beings as us reach such heights in such a small time?”
Julian smiled. She definitely was bold.
“You can,” he said simply. “Because this is not a request, Lilithara. It is an order.”
For a brief moment, something sparkled in Lilithara’s purple eyes—not fear, but perhaps the thrill of seeing just how far she could push things. Her tail swished faster behind her, betraying her amusement far more than her expression did.
“Are you going to be personally teaching us, my Lord?” she asked, her voice taking on a slightly breathy quality.
Julian’s smile widened slightly, and several of his wives exchanged knowing glances.
“I actually might,” he replied. “If you prove worth teaching.”
The other four family heads looked increasingly uncomfortable, clearly uncertain whether Lilithara was helping or harming their cause with her boldness.
Meanwhile, Seraphine leaned forward slightly on her throne, her own smile matching her father’s. She had seen this pattern before—someone testing Julian, pushing boundaries to see how he would react. It rarely ended well for those who overplayed their hand, but it could be entertaining to watch.
“The question is,” Julian continued, addressing all five again, “are you willing to commit everything to this path? Five years is a short time for such advancement, yes. But with proper guidance, proper techniques, and proper motivation, it is achievable.”
He paused, letting that sink in.
“Those who succeed will be elevated further—true power, true authority. Those who fail…” His smile faded. “Well, there’s no shame in trying and falling short. But there is shame in not trying at all.”
Thaldrin was the first to respond, dropping to one knee. “Lord Creator, I will dedicate everything to this path. My family will support me, and I will not fail.”
One by one, the others followed—Nerida, then Korvus, then Zephael, all kneeling and pledging their commitment.
Lilithara was the last. She didn’t drop to one knee immediately. Instead, she met Julian’s gaze for a long moment, then gracefully, she lowered herself to kneel, but her eyes never left his.
“I accept your challenge, Lord Creator,” she said. “And I look forward to discovering whether you truly will teach me personally.”
Regina laughed outright at that, the sound echoing through the chamber. “Oh, I like her,” she announced. “She reminds me of someone.”
Eleanor smiled. “Indeed. Very familiar energy.”
Julian’s expression remained neutral, but there was an interest in his eyes as he gazed at the succubus still kneeling before him.
“We shall see, Lilithara of House Crimson Desire,” he said. “We shall see.”
Then after few seconds, he added. “You all can go and resume your duties.”
With that, the five slowly raised themselves from their kneeling positions and walked away, their footsteps echoing through the massive chamber. They passed through the enormous golden doors, which closed behind them with a soft thud.
As soon as they disappeared, Regina turned to Julian, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.
“So, are you going after the succubus?” she asked teasingly.
Cecilia smiled knowingly from her throne. “Yes, you were looking at her with that predatory gaze. We all noticed.”
Sylvia added with a laugh, “The way she spoke to you—so bold and direct. She’s practically asking for your attention.”
Elvina nodded in agreement. “And she’s beautiful, I’ll admit. That confidence of hers is quite attractive.”
Seraphine’s voice cut through the teasing from her lower platform. “Father does seem to have a type—bold women who don’t fear him.” Her tone was dry, almost amused. “Though I wonder if Lilithara realizes what she’s getting herself into.”
Lyanna covered her mouth, trying to hide her smile, while Cassandra blushed slightly but said nothing.
Julian chuckled, shaking his head at all of them. “You’re all quite enjoying this, aren’t you?”
“Immensely,” Regina replied without hesitation.
“Well, forget about it for now,” Julian said, his tone shifting to something far more serious. The smile from earlier faded from his face. “We can have fun later, but I have something important to say to all of you.”
The chamber hushed completely. His wives straightened in their thrones, their playful expressions vanishing. The daughters on their lower platform did the same.
Julian’s eyes swept over them before he spoke.
“Can you all try to teleport yourselves back to our original world?”
There was a moment of confused silence. Several of the wives glanced at each other, uncertainty clear on their faces.
“Original world?” Ellie asked, her brow furrowing in genuine confusion.
Sylvia chuckled softly. “Ellie, have you forgotten that we’re originally from the Ares Kingdom? Our husband teleported us here nearly three centuries ago. We had lives there before all of this.”
Ellie’s expression cleared suddenly and she smiled. “Oh! Yes, of course. The Ares Kingdom, the palace, our families…” She trailed off, shaking her head. “It’s been so long that we’ve stayed here, three hundred and seventy-two years. I forgot about our life in the past. This place has become so completely our home that the old world feels like a distant dream.”
The others laughed lightly, the tension breaking for just a moment.
“I understand,” he said quietly. “It has indeed been centuries, and this world has become your true home in every sense. But I need you to try something for me.”
“Try now,” Julian continued, leaning forward slightly on his throne. “Close your eyes and sense the connection. Try to feel the pull of our original world—the world where you were born, where you grew up, where we first met. Reach for that thread that should connect you to it.”
