Chapter 903: Chapter 903 I’ll be rich
"Dad."
That single word found its way into the deepest corner of Leo’s heart.
His throat tightened. For the first time in a very long while, he didn’t know what to say. He simply walked toward them, his expression softening completely as he reached for Eli.
"Come here."
Eli happily leaned toward him and Leo took him into his arms. Bella was still standing beside them and Leo pulled her into the embrace as well, wrapping both of them tightly against his chest.
Bella’s eyes became misty.
Leo closed his eyes for a moment, holding them both as though he was afraid the moment might disappear if he let go.
He felt absurdly happy.
His little boy had called him Dad.
Not Tall Uncle.
Not Leo.
DAD.
The word echoed warmly through his heart.
Jay’s face softened as he watched them.
Jace smiled.
Even the others seemed moved by the simple moment.
Bella, however, was staring at Eli with a different kind of emotion.
She was happy. So incredibly happy.
But somewhere beneath that happiness, a tiny hope had quietly awakened.
She looked at Eli’s little face and wondered if perhaps he might call her Mom too.
She didn’t want to pressure him. She knew how complicated that word could be for him, especially because his birth mother would always have a special place in his heart. Bella would never ask him to forget her.
Still, a tiny part of her heart hoped.
She waited.
Eli was comfortably nestled in Leo’s arms, one little hand resting against his shoulder.
Bella smiled at him.
"Sweetheart..."
Eli looked at her.
Bella’s heart fluttered.
But Eli simply smiled and reached for her hand.
"Beautiful."
Bella’s smile remained, although a tiny, almost imperceptible disappointment touched her eyes.
She squeezed his little hand.
"Yes, my love?"
Eli happily held onto her fingers.
Bella looked at him and reminded herself that there was no hurry. He had called Leo Dad today. That alone was something precious.
Perhaps one day, when he was ready, another little word would come naturally.
And until then, she would happily remain his Beautiful.

Meanwhile, Jack was becoming increasingly frustrated.
Every day he went near the kindergarten, hoping he would find an opportunity to approach Eli, but the security around the little boy was far tighter than he had expected. The guards were large, intimidating men who seemed to notice everything around them, and Jack couldn’t bring himself to simply walk up to Eli while they were watching.
He had tried waiting farther away.
He had tried observing the routine.
He had even considered approaching the kindergarten staff but each idea seemed more complicated than the last.
Someone was always nearby near Eli, and the moment Jack imagined one of those bulky guards turning toward him, his confidence disappeared.
"Damn it..." he muttered under his breath one afternoon, watching from a distance.
He was running out of patience.
Every day he delayed meant another day in which he couldn’t reach Eli, and with every passing day, his anxiety grew. He had convinced himself that getting close to the boy would be easy, that he could simply introduce himself and use his connection to Eli to demand money from the wealthy family.
But reality was proving very different.
Jack clenched his jaw.
He needed another way.
He couldn’t keep standing outside the kindergarten like a fool, hoping the guards would suddenly disappear.
His eyes followed Eli as the little boy climbed into the waiting car after school.
The door closed.
The car drove away.
Jack watched until it disappeared from sight.
His frustration deepened.
"How am I supposed to get to him?"
He knew he needed to think carefully. If he made one foolish move, the wealthy family might realize what he was trying to do before he had the chance to gain anything from the situation.
So Jack stayed back.
And with every passing day, the pressure inside him grew stronger because Eli’s new family was becoming more protective of him while Jack was becoming more desperate to find a way into their lives.
Finally, after days of frustration, Jack spotted an opportunity that made his eyes light up. The kindergarten had posted a notice that they were looking for a temporary cleaner and the moment he read it, an idea immediately formed in his mind.
"A cleaner..." he murmured, staring at the notice.
A slow grin appeared across his face.
This was different.
He wouldn’t have to stand outside the gate anymore, and he wouldn’t have to approach Eli while those intimidating security guards were watching him. If he worked inside the kindergarten, he could move around naturally without immediately attracting suspicion.
Most importantly, he could get close to Eli.
Jack’s excitement grew as he imagined finally speaking to the boy.
"Perfect..."
He looked at the notice again, almost unable to believe his luck.
The position was for cleaning the washrooms and a few other areas of the kindergarten. It wasn’t glamorous work, and Jack normally wouldn’t have considered it for even a moment but right now he didn’t care.
He was thinking about the money and Jack immediately decided to apply.
Very soon, Jack was hired. The kindergarten wasn’t looking for anything complicated for the position; the only real requirement was that the applicant knew how to clean properly and after a brief interview, Jack was selected almost immediately.
He walked out of the office with his new work schedule in his hand, wearing a satisfied expression because, in his mind, he had finally found the easiest path toward Eli.
The moment he actually started working, however, his expression changed.
He hated it.
The smell of cleaning products, the buckets, the mop, the endless bathrooms that needed to be cleaned, and the constant bending and scrubbing made him feel humiliated. He kept looking down at his uniform with disgust, as though the clothes themselves were beneath him. Still, he forced himself to continue because he had already convinced himself that this was only temporary.
I’m not going to do this forever.
Once he got money from Eli’s wealthy adoptive family, he wouldn’t have to touch a mop again.
I’ll be rich.
That thought was enough to keep him moving.
