“Sister Wu,” Shen Li greeted the woman. “Was everything alright at the black pot village? You returned quite late.”

If Wu Junfen was at the village then nothing would have happened to them but the woman didn’t return all night.

“It was a bit troublesome as the villagers were on guard and fought a bit against us when we went to take their weapons and tools,” Wu Junfen did not feel anything wrong with what she had done as she had done something similar when she was in the apocalyptic world.

What was more, she knew that Yu Dong would never bully those who were innocent. Since the villagers of the Black Pot Village had bullied others for a long time just because they had a few sturdy women, it is only right for them to taste the same defeat.

After all, Wu Junfen did hear that the villagers of the Black Pot village were stealing from others.

“Some of our villagers got hurt but it’s nothing serious,” she hurriedly added when she saw Shen Li looking slightly worried.

When Shen Li heard Wu Junfen mentioning masks, he stiffened.

Wu Junfen noticed his reaction and asked, “Is everything alright?”

Of course, Shen Li was not going to tell Wu Junfen about trespassers breaking into their house. Not only there were two women but also a man, not to mention Fang Chi’s clothes were ripped and he was also forcibly kissed.

“You already know that the villagers of the Black Pot Village have committed all sorts of crimes but we thought that it was only stealing and looting when we went to the village, we found out that they were involved in many serious crimes like burning, killing and kidnapping,” Wu Junfen frowned as she paused slightly.

“After we looked around the village, we found a small house where mers and children were locked up. Most of them have been humiliated so they committed suicide while some of them were covered in brutal injuries while some are crazy and insane.”

“This is Feng Liang, we found him in the small house as well, his body is covered with scars and his mind is damaged. He cannot remember anything other than his name nor he could remember what happened to him,” she sighed and said, “He only survived because he is only four years old.”

“If not…” she trailed off and did not say anything further but Shen Li understood her meaning. If the child was not young then he too would have been humiliated.

“He doesn’t trust women. It was with great difficulty that we brought him here,” Wu Junfen glanced at Feng Liang who was looking everywhere but at her. “Ah Li can you keep him with you for a few days? We will try to locate his parents.”

At that moment, Feng Ling who was hiding behind Shen Li trembled in panic. He clutched Shen Li’s clothes with the hands that were full of scabs and cried,

“No…No don’t hit me..I will be good.”

Shen Li glanced at the child and when he saw that the mer was holding his head and trembling all over in a panic, his heart was moved. He looked down at the boy and picked him up ignoring the blood stains on the clothes of the child.

“Good boy, don’t be afraid, no one will hit you. How can I hit you? You are injured so badly,” he comforted the child while speaking to Wu Junfen, “They are real beasts, I was a bit saddened by their village getting burned but now I think that they deserve it. Such a good child, how could they bear to hit him?”

He was really angry and wanted to curse but he was worried that he would scare the child so he did not say anything harsh.

“What can we do?” Wu Junfen sighed. “The world is in trouble and nothing can be done at this point. I found out that the child was brought to the Black Pot Village four years ago, that is to say, that he was snatched by someone when he was in his cradle.”

“Maybe the people thought that he was a good-looking mer and wanted to keep him in the village to become someone’s child bride when he grew up.”

“He is this mer’s brother or so he says…most likely he adopted this child as his brother,” Wu Junfen said to Shen Li as she pushed a cold-faced mer in front of Shen Li who glanced at the child and turned to look at Wu Junfen. “Is he alright?” Why was the boy wearing such a cold expression?
