Yu Dong did not want her products to reach the capital. She only wanted to live a peaceful life in the village, away from the troubles of the royal family.

She couldn’t sell her strawberries as there was a chance that they could be preserved and sent to the Imperial Palace. However, she couldn’t waste her hard work which was why she came up with the idea of selling ice cream.

“Ice cream?” Shen Li looked at Yu Dong with a frown on his face. “Are you going to sell ice with strawberry jam?” He had never heard about such a peculiar thing before in his life.

However, he did know what ice was and he presumed that cream was most likely strawberry jam.

Yu Dong heard his words and couldn’t help but laugh. She shook her head and said to him, “Of course not! How can I sell strawberry jam with ice?” That would be a disaster!

“Then what is this thing?” Ye Liu asked. He was now in charge of taking care of discounts, and sales as well as the little schemes and lotteries that were running in the mall at the moment.

He needed to carefully devise a plan before launching this product.

“It’s hard to explain, you will know when I make it,” Yu Dong knew the gist of how to make ice cream, however, she had no idea how to explain it.

When Ye Liu heard her response he was simply speechless. This woman had always been like this! She would speak first and deal with things later.

Shouldn’t she have already made the ice cream before proposing the idea?

Yu Dong childishly poked her tongue out before she walked inside the kitchen. She asked Chen Mi to bring a bowl of strawberries.

“Chop them into small pieces,” said Yu Dong as she picked up a large bowl sitting on the side of the kitchen aisle. She then poured sugar, honey and lemon juice into the bowl one by one.

With a spoon, she mixed these three ingredients and then left them alone. It was necessary for the acids to mix properly.

“Now what?” Chen Mi asked after he was done chopping the strawberries. He turned to look at the rest of the family who were just as curious and sighed helplessly. “Don’t look at me so fervently, I am starting to feel nervous.”

Only then did everyone turn to look away from Chen Mi. Just now they did not realize how fervent their gazes were!

Yu Mai on the other hand trotted to where Chen Mi and Yu Dong were and placed his hands on the aisle of the kitchen before questioning, “Sister is this delish?”

“It’s really delish! You will really like it,” Yu Dong smiled at Yu Mai as she ruffled his hair. She then said to Chen Mi, “Mash the strawberries.”

Chen Mi furrowed his brows, this process seemed too much like making strawberry jam, however, he still did as Yu Dong told him.

When he was mashing the strawberries, Yu Dong looked at the pulp and sighed, if only she had a way to make a blender then this would have turned even smoother!

“Chi, bring the milk that Aunt Wang brought in the morning. Make sure that the milk has a heavy creamy layer on the top,” Yu Dong asked Fang Chi to bring the vat of milk that was sitting in the cellar where ice was placed.

“Okay,” Fang Chi obliged as he stood up from the chair and then walked out of the room. Yu Dong rolled her arms and sighed, now she needed to take care of the tough job.

While the Yu family was busy with the making of this new product. Yu Sa snuck out of the house, she looked around the village and noticed that the hustle and bustle of the village was indeed a bit quieter than usual.

Her eyes narrowed as she walked down the path that led to the main village. Yu Dong and her family lived at the foot of the mountain which was far from the village where the rest of the villagers lived.

“Excuse me, do you know where Little Second lives?” Yu Sa asked a villager who was walking down the field with a hoe in her hands.

The villager paused and looked at Yu Sa. She knew that this was Yu Dong’s relatives, as she had seen Yu Sa going in and out of the house that belonged to Yu Dong.

“Little second? Are you talking about Yu Linyun?” The villager asked with a polite voice.

“That’s right, I am talking about her. Can you tell me where she lives?” Yu Sa smiled at the villager as if she was a very cordial woman.

“She lives there,” the villager pointed at the house which was neither big nor small. Currently, it was bustling with activities, the villager thought that Yu Sa was going to Yu Linyun’s house because she was invited to the banquet and could not help but remark,

“Linyun is too much. Even if she is angry with Madam Dong, there is no such thing as eternal rivalry, she could have at least extended her invitation to Madam Dong,” the villager sighed.

Yu Linyun was being too much for inviting her, who was a relative who just come to the village a few days ago but ignored Yu Dong who lived just a few houses away.

However, she still had a sense of propriety and did not say such words in front of Yu Sa.

But Yu Sa still understood the underlying meaning of the woman. Her lips twitched and she wished she could tell the woman that she too was not invited by Yu Linyun!
