Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 179 - 152: Suggestion Reward, Encirclement Completed

Chapter 179: Chapter 152: Suggestion Reward, Encirclement Completed

When he heard Ren Yuanyang mention a reward, Lin Mu froze for a second before rushing to say, "Leader, it’s my duty!"

Ren Yuanyang shook his head slightly. "This is a rule at our base. Any suggestion that concretely improves our work efficiency will earn a reward. It’s not just you. If anyone else brings forth a similar proposal, they’ll be rewarded too!"

As he said this last part, Ren Yuanyang looked at the others.

Lu Jiamei and the others all nodded in agreement.

"Since you’re the first to propose an improvement, your reward will naturally be a bit bigger!" Ren Yuanyang continued, looking at Lin Mu. "A box of chocolates, ten packs of instant noodles, and ten drinks."

Lin Mu was stunned by the reward. He had assumed it would be nothing more than verbal praise; he never imagined the leader would actually hand out food and drinks!

Even though this stuff wasn’t considered healthy before the flood, in the current environment, these were priceless commodities.

Initially, Lin Mu had been polite, insisting he was just doing his duty. But now that he saw the items, he accepted without any hesitation. "Thank you, Leader!"

Xin Wan immediately had Si Youqin retrieve the items Ren Yuanyang mentioned from the warehouse and presented them to Lin Mu in front of everyone.

The others looked on with a hint of envy, secretly resolving to think more about how to optimize their own work in the future.

"From now on, think more about how you can improve work efficiency while you’re on the job," Ren Yuanyang continued. "It will make your own lives easier, and our base will be able to develop better! In the future, our rewards won’t be limited to food. As you all know, food isn’t an issue for our base. There will be other, more advanced and precious items up for grabs. So let’s all work hard together!"

"Yes, Leader!" everyone responded in unison.

"Please, carry on with your dinner!" Ren Yuanyang gave a slight nod and returned to tackling his own meal.

Jianghu sidled up to Lin Mu, eyeing the food and drinks in the bag. "So much stuff," he mused in a low voice. "This would be impossible to get at Dawn Base!"

Lin Mu nodded. "Yeah. I’d always heard our base wasn’t short on food, and I felt it was a bit of an exaggeration. But after seeing those evolved plants today, I realize now how sheltered I’ve been!"

"It’s not just you. Who would’ve thought our leader could actually make plants evolve!" Jianghu mused as well.

"Honestly, even when they told me the leader could make other plants evolve, I was still skeptical. It’s just too unbelievable," Lin Mu said, shaking his head.

He’d seen Wood-Type Evolvers before, but the most they could do was promote plant growth. None of them could make plants evolve.

Just then, Qin Haonan, who was sitting nearby, leaned over. "This is why we often don’t tell new members about this directly. We let them tour the evolved plants first, and then we explain. It’s much easier for them to accept it that way."

Seeing is believing!

Sometimes, explaining for ages is less effective than just showing them the real thing.

Most people are skeptical of things they don’t understand. Everyone is like a certain famous talk show host, frequently saying, "Really? I don’t believe it!"

Lin Mu and Jianghu both nodded. They knew exactly what he meant.

Si Youqin and the others were completely focused on the survivors’ chat on the big screen; even the delicious food before them could no longer hold their attention.

It was mainly because they could eat their fill at every single meal in Peach Blossom Base, so they were now more interested in news from the outside world.

The regional channel was still focused on discussions about the Han Jin Association Fleet in Magpie Country. Occasionally, messages would pop up—people trying to gain sympathy, begging for help, or looking to trade.

Seeing these messages, Si Youqin and the others felt another surge of gratitude for being rescued by Jin Ziyu and finding Peach Blossom Base.

At that moment, Jin Ziyu was wolfing down food like there was no tomorrow. Her stomach seemed to be a bottomless pit, but Si Youqin and the others were already used to the sight.

The dinner party lasted until ten o’clock. For the final hour, only Jin Ziyu was still eating; everyone else was just chatting idly.

After Jin Ziyu finished her ninth plate of food, she finally, and reluctantly, put down her chopsticks and plate.

"Had enough to eat?" Ren Yuanyang couldn’t help but ask.

"Just about!" Jin Ziyu smacked her lips, looking like she wasn’t quite finished.

Ren Yuanyang laughed and gave her a thumbs-up. "Impressive!"

Lu Jiamei, standing nearby, chimed in with a laugh. "All the girls are envious of your ability to eat a ton without gaining any weight. It must be nice to eat whatever you want!"

"What’s so good about it?" Jin Ziyu pursed her lips. "I was always starving before. It’s only since coming to our base that I can eat until I’m almost full."

"Almost full is enough. You shouldn’t eat too much at night!" Ren Yuanyang said as he stood up and gave instructions. "Everyone, let’s pitch in and clean things up!"

"Yes!"

The leftovers were all put into the refrigerated cabinet, once again serving as a midnight snack for the staff on duty.

Seeing that everyone was done cleaning, Ren Yuanyang spoke again. "Everyone, just bear with the yacht for one more night. Tomorrow, we’ll all start building our own houses in the Banyan Forest. Elder Hua, we’ll have to trouble you again!"

"It’s no trouble at all," Hua Lingfang said, smiling and shaking his head. "It’s second nature to me by now."

"Alright, it’s getting late. Everyone get some rest," Ren Yuanyang said as he began to walk out.

Qin Haonan and the others immediately followed.

The projection on the big screen was also shut off by Qin Haonan, much to the disappointment of Si Youqin and the others.
