Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 175 - 150: Magpie Hanjin, All Are Idiots (Part 2)

Chapter 175: Chapter 150: Magpie Hanjin, All Are Idiots (Part 2)

He planned to wait for the fight between the Dragon Country’s joint fleet and the Magpie Country’s forces to end before making this public. If he announced it early, there’d be no good show to watch.

Wang Jun was a little speechless. A nap, and now watching TV. ’Just how laid-back is life at the Peach Blossom Base?!’

Of course, he didn’t completely believe what Ren Yuanyang said. He just figured Ren Yuanyang was unwilling to tell him the truth and was just making up an excuse.

At that moment, in the conference room aboard the Magpie Country’s large ship, Han Jin Association President Park Yiye looked at his silent subordinates and seethed with frustration.

"Dammit, is anyone still breathing? Have you all gone mute?"

One of the ministers stood up and forced himself to speak. "President, I believe we should relocate. Even though Peach Blossom Base has issued a clarification, the other survivor groups from the Dragon Country won’t believe it. On top of that, Peach Blossom Base is trading all sorts of fruit for plants, which is bound to attract a ton of other groups. It’s extremely dangerous for us to stay here!"

Park Yiye scoffed, looking completely exasperated. "Can you say something I don’t already know? Everyone knows that! I want to move too, but where are we going to get the fuel? You gonna piss it out for us?"

The minister shrank back, not daring to say another word.

"Why don’t we contact Peach Blossom Base? The person in charge there must be a descendant of our Magpie Country!" another minister suggested cautiously. "As long as he acknowledges his roots, our two powers can join forces. Then we won’t have to fear anyone!"

"Dammit, did a dog eat your brain? You don’t actually believe the entire Cosmos belongs to our Magpie Country, do you?" Park Yiye felt a wave of powerlessness. ’How did I end up with such a pack of morons?’

’It was true that before the great flood, the Magpie Country had successfully registered some of the Dragon Country’s cultural heritage as its own, but that was all stolen. Surely these people didn’t actually believe it all belonged to them, right?’

"How will we know if we don’t ask? Perhaps he possesses our Magpie Country’s noble bloodline," someone else persisted, not ready to give up.

’I should just take a gun and shoot this section chief,’ Park Yiye thought. His rage was such that he started to laugh. "What a brilliant idea..."

He hadn’t even finished speaking when there was a knock at the conference room door, which was then pushed open.

The crew member who opened the door met Park Yiye’s furious gaze and hurriedly reported, "Sir! We’ve spotted a large ship to our north. A speedboat approached us, but we drove it off. We were worried they might have an ambush waiting, so we didn’t dare give chase!"

After listening to the crew member’s report, Park Yiye frowned and asked, "Just one large ship?"

"Yes. We haven’t spotted any others at the moment, but it’s just sitting there, not moving toward us!" the crew member confirmed with a nod.

Park Yiye frowned in thought for a moment, then immediately gave an order to the very section chief who had just asked about Ren Yuanyang’s "noble Magpie Country bloodline."

"You go and drive that ship away!"

Upon hearing the order, the section chief lost his nerve. "We’re safe as long as they don’t approach. Why should we be the ones to start a fight?"

"Dammit! No wonder the Han Jin Association’s business keeps getting worse. With you lot around, the Association will go bankrupt sooner or later!" Park Yiye was at a complete loss for words. "Can anyone tell this man why we need to strike first?"

"Because they only have one ship! Our strength is far greater than theirs. We can totally swallow them whole!" a minister immediately chimed in.

The rest of the men nodded in agreement.

Park Yiye scanned the room. Seeing that no one had a dissenting opinion, he felt drained and utterly helpless. He had no choice but to ask, "What does it signify when a lone ship like that appears near us?"

"It means a big ship has its sights on us, of course!"

"The intel on the regional channel is crystal clear: we have five large ships," Park Yiye said, reining in his temper to guide their thoughts. "Where would they get the confidence to approach us alone with just one ship?"

"Is it because all Dragon Country People are incredibly arrogant?"

The thought of leaving the Han Jin Association began to form in Park Yiye’s mind. ’If I keep staying here, I’ll get myself killed by these worthless teammates sooner or later!’

"Could it be possible that the ships from China have arranged to attack us together?"

"That’s highly likely! Our president is brilliant!"

"Why didn’t I think of that? The president is incredible!"

"Enough! All of you, get out! Go drive that ship away!" Park Yiye roared, cutting off the incessant stream of ass-kissing.

His subordinates stiffened and replied in unison, "Yes, sir!"

Then, they all scurried out of the conference room, terrified of being held back for a scolding.

After everyone had gone, Park Yiye let out a long sigh and closed his eyes, sinking into thought. He decided he would never hold another meeting. From now on, he would just issue orders and have them followed. ’After all, it’s not like any of these morons have a brain to use, anyway.’

Qin Haonan was getting ready to leave, but Lu Jiamei suddenly noticed the five large ships were starting to move.

"Wait!" she said, quickly stopping Qin Haonan.

Qin Haonan paused, startled. "What’s wrong, Sister Mei?"

"Those big ships are on the move!" Lu Jiamei said in a low voice.

"Did they spot us? Are they coming to capture us?" Qin Haonan asked, even more confused.

"They wouldn’t mobilize the big ships just for us," Lu Jiamei said, shaking her head. "They must be going after that other large ship!"

It finally dawned on Qin Haonan. The large ships couldn’t possibly catch their speedboat. The only thing that would make them deploy their own big ships was another big ship!

"Isn’t that perfect, then? Just let them fight. Why are we stopping?" Qin Haonan asked, still confused.

Lu Jiamei shook her head. "If they start fighting now, the crew of that ship will realize their opponent isn’t Peach Blossom Base, but a fleet from the Magpie Country. If they spread that information, the allied fleet we’re expecting probably won’t show up at all!"
