Sylas used all 10 of his Legendary Spawns in the blink of an eye. However, he only ended up with a single actual Legendary Spawn. The rest were Gold at best, and a whole host of Silvers.
He did recall, though, that even with Cassarae's temper, she had forced herself to tolerate her Armored Seamstress Maya because she was her one Bronze Summon.
Honestly, Sylas didn't know much about what Maya's current circumstances were. But what he did know was that she was probably quite the help to Casstle Main by now.
Everything else Sylas knew was from reading. And unfortunately, the largest well of his information was actually the Golden Grove, who probably wouldn't know a Bronze Summon if it clocked them over the head.
There was also the matter of the fact that Spawns weren't really in public consciousness anymore long after a world had completed its Summoning.
It was odd to think about, but it wouldn't have been a surprise if many of those that Sylas had fought were actually the descendants of Spawns. There was nothing but one's own mental blocks stopping you from procreating with one of these people.
And by the time they had children, and their children had children, the origins of these Spawns would lengthy have been forgotten in most societies.
By then, how could you tell the difference?
Even back on Earth, Spawns used to make people super uncomfortable. The idea of just crafting a human from thin air who just seemed to integrate seamlessly was, well... Ridiculous.
And yet here it was.
Regardless, Sylas knew that the value of a Bronze Spawn was already off the charts. A Silver one was next to unheard of and already bordering, if not crossing, the value one might expect in a Demi-God World.
A Gold and Legendary Spawn, though...
Well, it was safe to say that they had abilities that could form the foundation of an Empire. Such existences would
be highly cherished by their City Lords.
Sylas didn't really give a damn, though.
"You."
[Helena Varr (FFF+)]
[Level: 0]
[Profession: Strategic Marshal (Silver)] [Special Talent: Tabletop War]
>[Form perfect landscape of a <100> cubic length of battlefield including real-time movement and estimated power-level] [Favorability: 5/10]
"Replicate this battlefield for me. What do you see?"
Helena did as she was told.
Every one of the Spawns, regardless of Profession, spawned in the same exact way. Each wore simple white linens reminiscent of a psych ward patient and simple white slip-on shoes. However, much the same, each one had a sharp pair of eyes that seemed to denote a person very much used to wielding a great deal of power.
However... every one of them was Human. And Sylas wasn't expecting this.
Was the Race always based on himself? In that case, were they all technically Grimblades? Their status screens were also different from normal-were they even Overlords?
These were details of things that Sylas had gone over before, but he was starting to question just how accurate what he knew was.
Helena closed her eyes in concentration, and a pulse of light formed from her outstretched hands. They entered together to form a series of lights that solidified into projections, but then a sudden pain came from Helena's face.
Sylas reached forward and grabbed her before she collapsed, stopping her from falling over entirely.
He had half expected this to happen. Her attempt to map out the region had ended up grasping aspects of the Asurex's stronghold, as well as the Secret Realm of the Golden Grove.
The combination of things stretched her beyond what she could handle at her current level-especially since she was relying on a Profession that required communication with the system like all Professions did.
The trouble with that was the fact that the Secret Realm had its own proprietary system. The impotent system took precedent over it, of course, but this was more difficult when the Profession in question needed cooperation from the world itself.
After all, Helena was trying to map a battlefield. It rarely got more intimate than that.
This confirmed that Sylas' bridge was certainly working, though. Unfortunately, it meant that every one of his Spawns was pretty useless to him right now. Even his Legendary Spawn was worthless. Where would he need to
form supply lines if his city was in his Hibernation Realm?
Of course, that was the common answer.
There was nothing common about Sylas.
