Chapter 1812: Hidden Trap (2)
Chapter 1812: Hidden Trap (2)
Tamer of Dimensions had been one of the ten Legendary Paths that Sylas had had the choice of choosing back when he first gained Gogo as a companion.
He had ended up not choosing it because he felt the Taboo Bond, One Kind For Me, and Were-For-The-Invincible synergized as the best combination of three.
To this point, he had been correct. Even with the knowledge he had now, he felt like he had made the perfect choice.
There was no better combination he could have picked. But that didn't mean that there weren't other pairings that synergized well as well... Namely, his Hibernation Realm and something like Tamer of Dimensions.
The Hibernation Realm wasn't technically an ability of its own. It was an off-shoot of One Kind For Me, a place to grow and raise his Contracted Beasts.
The irony of this was that even if they did synergize, Sylas couldn't have known this before. The description of One Kind For Me never mentioned the Hibernation Realm in the first place. It was something he only learned after he gained it.
But then he noticed something else. When One Kind For Me evolved to Bronze, there was a small change. Back then it had read... -
[One Kind For Me]
[Level: 62]
[Experience: 0/409 600]
[Path Talent: Beast Totem Lv62; Insight Lv62]
[Beast Totem (Path Talent)]
[Forms Hibernation Realm mirror <E-Rank> Serpentes True World] —
Sylas had noted that back then, but still didn't have the mind to focus heavily on it. Now, however, it read... —
[One Kind For Me]
[Level: 100]
[Experience: MAX/MAX]
[Path Talent: Beast Totem Lv100; Insight Lv100]
[Beast Totem (Path Talent)]
[>Suppress <E-rank> Serpentes Beasts by <100%>]
[>All <E-rank> Serpentes obey your commands]
[>Suppress <D-rank> Serpentes Beasts by <50%> and ignore Rank Suppression] [>Forms Hibernation Realm mirror <D-Rank> Serpentes True World] [>Hibernation Halo]
[>Fusion is instant]
[>Buff <F-Rank> Contracts by <10,000%> and <E-Rank> by <200%>] [>Ancestral Gravity] (NEW!!)
[>Contract Echo] (NEW!!)
[Insight (Path Talent)]

[>Comprehend Contract]

[>Intuition]
[>Semi-Reversal]
[>Echo Fuse]
[>Redo]

[>Forced Divergence] (NEW!!)
A D-Rank Mirror World.
What was that? Sylas had had no idea and little time to figure it out. But he had his own speculations, speculations that he felt were solid enough that he didn't need to go out of his way entirely to confirm them because he was sure they were 70% true at the very least.
A mirror world was a reflection of another world, very likely the exceptionally same sort of world that Tamer of Dimensions might open up for him to explore.
There was no way that the system was spending the effort and thought to sustain what was truly Sylas' own independent world. That was to say that the idea of creating a secret City in his own Hibernation Realm that Sylas and only Sylas could access was a pipe dream.
All this time, Sylas' Hibernation Realm was just using a piece of another world-an extremely powerful world-as its anchor. In fact, this world was so powerful that even its residual effects gave his Contracts such shocking benefits.
The boosts given to his Serpentes were so exaggerated by now that even Hibernation Halo, which only received a fraction of a fraction of the benefits, practically crafted him unkillable.
And this was yet again just a fraction of a fraction of this world's power.
By now, the problem became obvious.
The reason why the Experience gained from forming a Laboratory, and the reason why Sylas would be a madman to try and establish a Legendary City Stele in his Hibernation Realm... Was because he would be taking something metaphysical and making it real-tangible.
The moment he did so, the artificial anchor placed down in this mysterious world by the system would become very real. And suddenly, rather than being separate and untouchable, Sylas' Hibernation Realm would become a place the Overlords of that place could sense and even reach.
Of course, Sylas would still receive some protection by the system, but not only would it not be perfect, during a City Defense Quest while his Legendary City Stele was being established, it would be non-existent.
Whatever Gods were certainly on the other side of this powerful world would sense him and have a bridge to cross over. Even if his World limited them to the cap of his D-tier like it said was its limit, Sylas wasn't even confident in defeating a single F-tier God, let alone a D-tier one.
He would die before he knew it.
Of course, the City Stele would be useless to them. But how would they know that until they conquered it? By then, he would be dead and there would be no time for regrets.
And even if they did know it ahead of time...
So what?
Sylas was an outsider taking advantage of a world built for them by their Ancestors. Why would they also allow him to establish a Legendary City Stele to compete with what was likely their own Legendary City Steles?
These hidden traps and dangers were precisely what made this world so difficult to rise in. It was also why Sylas put such a heavy emphasis on learning and understanding more.
Only then could he prepare ahead of time.
Only then could he find a way around these impossibilities.
For example...
Like this.
Sylas pressed his palm forward and his Legendary City Stele phased through the world and into his Hibernation Realm. With a thought, he brought Nosphaleen out and made her stand by his side. Right now, it was too dangerous to remain in there.
However, he didn't look at or focus on her in the slightest. His mind was elsewhere.
'There it is.'
As expected, when he activated his Legendary City Stele, the world responded in kind.
Right now, the Legendary City Stele was swallowing up the territory of the Demons.
But at the same time, it was anchoring itself in Sylas' world and forming a bridge to whatever mysterious land
existed on the other side.
A bridge was being formed.
And on the other side of it...
Gods stirred.
