Gathering Wives with a System

Chapter 267: Guidance, Celeste’s Warning

Chapter 267: Guidance, Celeste’s Warning

Isaac stared at her blankly, his lips twitching. What the hell was going on during ancient times?

“So, Master, we can work under you, right?” Priscilla asked.

Isaac glanced at the rest of the maids.

Their faces were tense, and their eyes watched him carefully, full of anxiousness.

They seemed worried that he might actually refuse.

He thought it over.

They had nowhere to go.

Their ancient mindset and way of life would make it impossible to fit into modern society.

Even if he wanted to push them away, what would they do? Wander around aimlessly, confused and likely hunted or get taken advantage of?

He exhaled through his nose and gave a small nod. “Okay.”

As soon as the word left his mouth, Priscilla turned her head sharply toward two maids standing behind her and gave a single nod.

In the blink of an eye, they blurred and disappeared.

Isaac frowned. “Where did they go?”

“They went to collect ingredients to make tea for you,” Priscilla explained calmly. “The forest surrounding the mansion in the Cradle is full of powerful monsters and exotic plants. For now, they will gather something suitable for tea and later for food.”

Isaac kept his expression neutral, but inwardly he perked up.

Exotic plants, huh?

He had expected to have rare resources in the Cradle, and now he had people capable of finding and preparing them.

Still, he forced himself to give only a casual nod.

Priscilla didn’t linger.

She turned toward another pair of maids. “Clear the monsters around the mansion. We cannot let those beasts sully the holy ground of Master’s residence.”

The two vanished without a sound.

Priscilla faced another pair. “Clean the mansion from head to toe. I do not want a single speck of dust anywhere.”

Again, they disappeared almost instantly, leaving behind only the faintest ripple in the air.

Her tone had carried no hesitation, and it was firm and commanding.

In that moment, Isaac saw her true role as head nanny.

She might be straightforward and a bit naive, but there was an undeniable authority when she gave orders.

Finally, her attention returned to him. “Master, how many children do you have? You can bring them here. We will take care of them. Moreover, this land is blessed. It will help them grow strong and healthy.”

“I don’t have kids,” Isaac said flatly, cutting her off before she could go any further.

“Why not?” Priscilla asked immediately, tilting her head in confusion. “Could it be Master is embarrassed? Do not worry. We nannies are well versed in every matter, from raising infants to sexual education. We can even prepare aphrodisiac potions. With us here—”

“I’m good,” Isaac interrupted firmly, rubbing his forehead. “My situation doesn’t allow me to have kids. I’m not planning for them either, not while I’m still young.”

Priscilla bowed her head slightly. “Understood, Master.”

But Isaac didn’t miss the look in her eyes.

Despite her words, something ridiculous was clearly running through her head.

Suddenly, a voice echoed softly in his mind. Master, you should be careful. She might spike your drink with a fertility potion, or something even more dangerous.

Isaac’s gaze flicked to the side.

Celeste stood with one hand over her mouth, her purple eyes narrowed and lips twitching as if holding back laughter.

Her voice came again through the telepathic link. When Head Maid Priscilla decides on something, she almost always goes overboard. You should be careful, Master. She’ll see you have children one way or another.

Isaac sighed inwardly but responded with a faint smile. Thanks for the warning.

He moved over to the couch and lowered himself into it.

The trial had left him exhausted, and even though he didn’t like admitting it, his body welcomed the chance to rest.

“Priscilla,” he said after a pause, “why did the trial involve kidnapping children?”

She folded her hands in front of her and lowered her gaze. “The trials are often modeled after events of the past. This one was no different. However, we do not remember much about the events before the trial. The system erased many of our memories.”

Isaac nodded slowly.

Just then, two maids entered quietly, each carrying a shallow basin filled with a faintly glowing liquid.

Both were small in stature, with purple hair tied neatly behind their heads.

Each had one eye covered with bangs.

They knelt together and placed the basins down.

“Master,” one said softly, “we have prepared this mixture from the herbs collected. It will help you relax.”

“Yes,” the other chimed in. “It is meant for massage. Please allow us.”

“There’s no need,” Isaac said, raising a hand.

“We insist!” both said at once, their voices overlapping.

Isaac stared at them for a few seconds.

They looked up at him with unwavering determination.

Finally, he sighed and nodded. “Fine.”

The two moved quickly, pulling his pants up to his knees and guiding his legs into the basins.

The water was warm and carried a faint fragrance, not too strong, but oddly refreshing.

They sat on the ground, one on each side, and began massaging his legs with steady, practiced motions.

Celeste brought him a tea.

At the same time, Priscilla moved behind him and pressed her fingers into his shoulders.

Isaac stiffened at first.

The whole situation felt strange, and surreal.

It was his first time being treated like some kind of king lounging while servants tended to him.

It didn’t sit naturally with him.

But he couldn’t deny the massages worked.

The tension in his legs melted quickly, and his shoulders loosened under Priscilla’s firm pressure.

“This will help Master recover from the fatigue of the trial,” Priscilla’s voice said softly near his ear. “Furthermore, it will also help you in bed. The herbs in the liquid have properties that will fortify your seeds.”

Isaac’s eyes, which had been drifting closed, snapped open.

He tilted his head up, staring at her.

Priscilla met his gaze without hesitation. “Master, I can tell you feel embarrassed about this subject. But please do not be. This is a matter of grave importance. You clearly come from a great lineage.

“It is your responsibility to have many wives and sire many children. That is the only way to ensure your kingdom expands.

“If you remain stubborn, remember even the mightiest kingdoms in the past fell because they lacked talent.

“Master must not make the same mistake. Your children will inherit your bloodline. They will certainly be talented. And—”

She didn’t stop.

Her voice carried on and on, persistent and unwavering, piling reason after reason as though she were a grandmother nagging her grandchild to hurry up and marry.

Isaac closed his eyes again, deciding to let her words pass in through one ear and straight out the other.

He didn’t want to argue. Not when her fingers were actually doing a decent job of working out the knots in his shoulders.

Still, a wry smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

He wanted to get up and walk away, but with two maids working on his legs and Priscilla pressing on his shoulders, he was effectively trapped.

And he was certain he heard Celeste’s soft, muffled snicker echoing from across the hall.
