Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband

Chapter 415: You Can’t Understand

Chapter 415: You Can’t Understand

Daniel almost had difficulty breathing. He coughed before saying, "Let... let me go first." James then let him go and urged, "Answer me!"

Daniel straightened his wrinkled collar and then frowned, "Who suspects that you are unfaithful? Your wife?" He scoffed, "I asked you to answer my question not ask me a question!" Hearing his unwilling tone, Daniel figured it out. It turned out that he had quarreled with his wife.

He said helplessly, "How can I know? I am not your wife, and I have never heard your pledge of love. But a woman’s heart is a deep ocean of secrets, and they are all paranoid." James didn’t speak, leaning on the back of the sofa expressionlessly.

Daniel continued, "However, what she said during the quarrel cannot be counted. Besides, Lovers’ quarrels are soon mended. You are a man! Just go back and coax her. You don’t need to get yourself drunk here!"

"Who says I am drunk!" James was upset by his words and corrected with blurred eyes, "I...never.. never... never get..."

Before the word "drunk" was said, he collapsed on the sofa. Daniel was happy that he finally stopped acting crazy. Otherwise, he might have to change from a "trash can" to a " dump". Daniel smiled helplessly and then made a call, "Ask two waiters to come in and get the car ready."

Soon after he gave the order, the door of the room was opened, and two waiters walked in. Daniel asked them to carry James out. The two waiters immediately followed his order. Outside the gate of the clubhouse, Sam had already been waiting by the car. Seeing the two waiters carrying James out, she quickly opened the car door. After they put him into the back seat, she closed the door. When she was about to return to the driver’s seat, she saw Daniel coming out, so she nodded, "Boss!"

Daniel glanced at her and said, "Send him home." "Got it."

When Sam was about to turn around, Daniel thought of something and said, "No! Send him to the hotel." If James went back home like this, the conflict between him and his wife would intensify. Sam nodded. As soon as she got seated in the car, the door of the passenger seat was opened, and then Daniel got in. "I’ll go with you," Daniel said, fastening his seat belt. Sam started the car without saying anything. It didn’t take long for the car to arrive at the hotel.

Before Daniel could speak, Sam unfastened her seat belt and got out of the car. When she was about to help James out, Daniel got out of the car and stopped her, "Wait! He is a married man. You will get misunderstood if you help him out." While speaking, he ran over and assisted James to get out of the car. Seeing this, Sam could only step aside. After Daniel helped James out, he saw her standing silently like a stick, so he felt inexplicably annoyed.

"Forget it! You won’t understand even if I explain it to you," he muttered when helping James walk in. Sam quickly closed the car door and followed up. Daniel paused and said, "Wait here." Sam could only stop.

After a while, Daniel came out of the hotel. Catching a glimpse of her standing rooted to the spot, he pulled loose his tie in displeasure and said, "In the future, you

must figure out what should be done and what should not on your own. Don’t get yourself into trouble." He cast a cold look at her.

Although Sam didn’t understand what he meant, she still replied, "Got it, boss." She stepped forward to open the door of the back seat for him. But Daniel didn’t hop in. He walked around her, opened the door on the other side, and got in. Sam lowered her eyes, closed the door for him, and returned to the driver’s seat.

In the Taylor family. Yvonne was sitting in the bedroom, staring intently at the clock on the table.

...

She had been waiting here since coming back from the cafe, but James hadn’t returned home yet. She had wanted to call him to ask where he was. But then she had thought there was no need to do so since she had already decided to leave. Therefore, she waited there in silence until dawn broke. It was already five o’clock in the morning, but he still had not come back. She thought he might not come back because when he had left the coffee shop, he had been very angry.

Thinking of this, she slowly stood up, pulled the suitcase that she had already packed, and walked toward the door regardless of her stiff legs. When she got to the door, she looked back with reluctance, then turned around, and left.

In the hotel. When James woke up, he had a terrible headache. He held his aching head and slowly sat up on the bed. When he saw the surrounding furnishings, he realized that he was in his room in the hotel. He murmured, "Why am I here?"

He rubbed his temples, not remembering what had happened last night. He then raised his hand, glanced at his watch, and found that it was already eight o’clock in the morning. When he lifted the quilt and tried to get out of bed, he accidentally touched the mobile phone on the bedside. And then he remembered something, so he picked it up to check the missed calls. Only his mother and assistant had called him. He couldn’t believe his eyes, so he checked his phone again.

"Bang!"

The phone was thrown heavily at the corner of the wall, bounced back, and fell on the floor, shattering into pieces. On the way home from the hotel, James drove the car fast. He hadn’t returned home last night. Why hadn’t she even called him? Was it because she trusted him, or she didn’t care about him? Thinking of this, he slammed the accelerator hard. It didn’t take long for him to arrive at the gate of the old house of the Taylor family. He got out of the car and hurriedly walked toward the door.

In the dining room, Mrs. Taylor was sitting at the table, eating breakfast. She hadn’t expected him to come back suddenly, so she was startled and said, "James, have you eaten breakfast? If not, come and join me." James glanced at the dining table silently and found that only his mother was having breakfast. Suddenly, he had a bad feeling and ran upstairs in a hurry. As expected, Yvonne was not in the bedroom.

Unwilling to give up, he then checked the bathroom and cloakroom again. He found not only she but also her belongings were gone. Had she moved out? No way!

How could she move away without his permission? Thinking of this, he quickly returned to the bedroom and found that the dressing table, which had originally been full of cosmetics, also became empty. And there was a sticky note full of words on it. He reached out and slowly picked it up. He knew it was from Yvonne because he recognized her handwriting.

"James, when you read this message, I may have already left Tomaville. Don’t look for me. Don’t ask where I have gone. Meeting you is the luckiest thing in my life. Maybe I am not lucky enough, so I can’t keep this good luck. Thank you for the warmth you have brought to me during this time. Regarding the agreement, I’ve consulted a lawyer. Even if you don’t sign it, you can still divorce me as long as we

have separated for two years. But I don’t want to end our marriage this way. Time is precious to both you and me. The earlier you make the decision, the better. If you change your mind, you can contact my lawyer Mr. Gregor, and he will help me handle everything. Finally, I wish you the best. Don’t miss me. Yvonne."

A divorce agreement and a business card were under the sticky note. James stared at the agreement and gripped his fists tighter and tighter. Did she want to leave? No Way!

He threw these things aside, took out a spare phone, and called her, but her phone had already been switched off. He did not give up and tried a few more times but still failed to get through. He gradually became flustered. No! he couldn’t let her leave anyway! Thinking of this, he hurried downstairs. Seeing him come and left in a hurry, Mrs. Taylor caught up with him and asked, "James, why are you going out immediately after you came back?"

James suddenly remembered something, so he stopped and looked back, asking, "When did Yvonne leave?" Mrs. Taylor was startled.

James didn’t have time to wait for her to answer, so he turned around and left in a hurry.

"James..."

Mrs. Taylor wanted to stop him, but he walked out too fast, so she could only stare at him leave and sighed worriedly. "Go get all the flight information today, and focus on the flights which took off from last night to this morning. I need to know if my wife is on the passenger list. In addition, you should also check the trains and buses. Be quick!"

After James gave his orders, he threw the phone aside. He believed he could find her. After a while, his subordinates reported that nothing had been found. Only then did he realize the seriousness of the problem. It was strange.

She hadn’t taken any flights, trains, or buses? She could not grow wings and fly away, right? He was still unwilling to give up. So, he drove the car to Yvonne’s apartment, intending to find some clues there, but he found she had never been back.

He quickly called Christopher. When the phone vibrated, Christopher gently put the sleeping baby into the crib. When he made sure she was asleep, he lightly walked out of the baby room and closed the door. Only then did he have time to answer the phone. James said, "Chris, I need to talk to your wife."

Christopher was afraid of waking Jennie up, so he asked softly, "Why?"

James said, "I don’t have time to explain it to you. Just give her the phone!" Bur Christopher said, "She just fell asleep. I can pass your message to her after she wakes up."

Although James felt angry, he knew Christopher’s temper, so he said, "Fine! Has Yvonne ever contacted Janice recently?" Hearing this, Christopher raised his eyebrows slightly and said, "No."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I’m sure. Janice’s cell phone has been kept by me recently," Christopher replied. James hung up without asking any more questions. Hearing the beep on the phone, Christopher put the phone away. Thinking of the anxiety in James’s voice just now, he couldn’t help shaking his head helplessly. It seemed that he and Yvonne were busting up again. As soon as he was about to leave, the bedroom door was pushed open, and Janice walked out.

He was startled and asked, "Did I wake you up?" Janice rubbed her eyes and shook her head, "Who called you?"

Christopher, "... a subordinate."

"Where are the babies?" She glanced toward the baby room.

Christopher said, "They just drank milk and fell asleep. You can take the chance to get some more sleep." He stepped forward and straightened her pajamas. "OK." Janice nodded, then turned around, and went back to the bedroom.

...

James finally remembered Mr. Gregor whom Yvonne had mentioned after blindly looking around for a while. He came to the lawyer’s office where Mr. Gregor was working and asked him directly, "Where is my wife?"

Mr. Gregor was confused and asked, "Sir, may I ask your name?"

"James Taylor."

Mr. Gregor suddenly realized who he was and said, "Mr. Taylor, nice to meet you. I don’t know where your wife is now. I just helped her draft an agreement." James narrowed his eyes and said, "Drop the Nonsense! She’s entrusted you to handle all those things, so you must know how to contact her."

Mr. Gregor said, "She gave me an email address and asked me to send her an e-mail when you change your mind."

An e-mail address?

"Give it to me," James reached out his hand.

Mr. Gregor hesitated for a while before giving it to him. Then, James immediately sent an email to her. He waited at the computer all night, but Yvonne hadn’t replied. He could only rub his tired face, which had sprouted a beard overnight.

In one of the remotest towns near Tomaville. "Dr. White, are you alone?" Jason asked puzzledly when he saw Yvonne alone at the station. He was the driver who had temporarily been dispatched to pick up the medical team.

Yvonne stared at the shy man and felt a little sorry because she had tooktaken a random decision to come over today. "The medical team will not arrive until tomorrow. I came over in advance to familiarize myself with the environment. I’m sorry to trouble you."

Jason blushed and hurriedly said, "It’s nothing. Welcome to our town. Dr. White, you’re all doctors from the big city. It’s a comedown for you to come to work in such a small place." Yvonne smiled, "I never regard the job as a comedown. As a doctor, I will save people as before wherever I am."

"Well said! The remote mountain areas need talents like you," Jason said while he took the suitcase over from her hand and put it in the van.

This was the only van that the town’s health clinic owned. It was usually used to transport medical supplies, so it was full of sundries now. "I was notified to come here temporarily, so I didn’t have time to tidy the van. I hope you don’t mind," Jason said with embarrassment.

Yvonne got in the van briskly and said, "It’s okay. I’ve been on a tractor that transports timber before." "Really?" Jason was surprised. "I thought you’ve never been to such places before." Yvonne didn’t respond.

She had been to a similar place together with Janice once. She felt as if it had happened yesterday, but actually, one year had passed. How time flew! It had been one year! Too many things had happened in the past year. She had married James

and brought fair back to her mother. Then, she had been diagnosed with sterility and come here. All these things seemed like the plot of a novel, and she felt everything unreal. It was a rough trip. Finally, the van stopped in front of a three-story red brick building.

The van door opened, and Jason got out with the suitcase and said, "Dr. White, here we are." Yvonne followed him out. She stopped in front of the building and looked around. It was getting late, so she couldn’t tell what place it was in the dark. When she was wondering, Jason said, "This is the middle school of our town. The dormitory at the health clinic has not been cleaned up yet. Can you live here tonight?"

Hearing Jason’s explanation, Yvonne nodded, "No problem. I will live here tonight." Jason carried her luggage to the door of a room on the third floor and said embarrassedly, "This is a student dormitory. Today is the weekend, so the students have all gone home. The conditions here are not good. I’m sorry to put you to such inconvenience."

Yvonne said, "I don’t think it’s inconvenient. This place is not bad." Hearing her reply, Jason was a little surprised, "Well, please have a break first. I’ll send you food later."

"Thank you."

"You’re welcome." Jason blushed, turned around, and left. After watching Jason leave, Yvonne turned around and looked at the room. Although it looked a little shabby, it was clean. She opened her suitcase, took out the daily necessities, and unpacked some clothes before turning on her phone. As she had expected, James had called her hundreds of times. She ignored the missed calls and opened her WhatsApp. As expected, she had received a lot of voice messages, all of which had been sent by James.

She listened to them one by one and burst out into tears. It took a long time for her to calm down. It seemed she had to buy a new sim card, otherwise, she was not sure whether she had such strong willpower to stop herself from contacting James. Thinking of this, she decisively took the sim card out of the phone and put it in her suitcase.

In Tomaville.
