Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband

Chapter 404: Be A Competent Father

Chapter 404: Be A Competent Father

"No, go now." Janice urged him.

"I can’t go now. If I leave, how can you be here alone? "

"I can. I just had breakfast and went to the washroom. I don’t need to get out of bed."

"No, that’s not okay."

"Just go..."

Yvonne did not want to disturb them at first, but when she saw that both of them were unable to reach an agreement even after talking for a long time, she could only choose to knock on the door and walk into the ward.

"You guys, stop arguing. The babies still have to stay in the incubator for a while. During this period, someone professional will take care of them."

She helped Christopher out.

Christopher cast a grateful look at her.

However, Janice knitted her brows. "Even so, you can still take a look. Think of it as a visit to our children on my behalf."

Janice pursed her lips as her eyes were filled with pleading.

Christopher had no choice but to compromise in the end.

"Okay, okay, I’ll go to see them. I’ll go now."

He turned around helplessly and said to Yvonne, "Please take care of her for me."

"Okay."

Yvonne nodded and watched Christopher walk out of the ward. She then put the flowers in the vase on the table and said, "Stop pushing him."

"I’m not pushing him. I’m teaching him to be a competent father." Janice said assuredly.

"But don’t you think that before he can be a competent father, he must be a competent husband first?"

Yvonne looked at her.

Janice froze. "I think he is good enough for me."

Yvonne shook her head helplessly, sat down on the chair beside the bed, and said, "That’s what you think. Maybe he doesn’t think so."

Janice was confused.

Yvonne felt that it was impossible for Janice to understand.

She dropped the topic and asked, "How’s your wound? Is it getting better?"

Janice nodded. "Much better. It won’t hurt if I don’t touch it."

"That’s good. I’m afraid you will be discharged soon. By the way, are you going to live in the Postpartum Care Center or go home?" asked Yvonne.

Janice thought for a moment. "It should be at home. I went to sign up at a Postpartum Care Center before the delivery, but Chris canceled it."

Yvonne was not surprised.

After all, it was impossible for Christopher, who refused to leave Janice’s side, to send her to the Postpartum Care Center.

"It’s good to go home. No matter how nice it is outside, it’s not as comfortable as living at home."

"But I still think it’s better to live in the Postpartum Care Center." "You want to break away from supervision, don’t you?" Yvonne knew exactly what Janice was thinking. "Nobody knows me better than you." Janice smiled.

Yvonne also smiled and thought to herself, "I’m afraid that your husband knows your intentions better than I do."

However, seeing that Janice was in good shape, Yvonne felt relieved.

"By the way, I saw in the news that something had happened to White Group. Are you alright?" Janice asked as she thought of it.

Yvonne did not answer immediately. Instead, she was silent for a moment before saying, "I’m okay. I had nothing to do with the White Group a long time ago."

Although Janice didn’t know much about the White family, she did know a bit.

When she heard Yvonne say that she was fine, she was quite relieved.

"That’s good."

In fact, Yvonne was not as indifferent as she said she was.

Although Grace deserved to be punished, the White Group seemed to be innocent.

After all, the evildoer was Grace.

Although her father Grant also had an undeniable responsibility, he was still her father.

She could cut off her ties with him without hesitation, but she didn’t want him to live a miserable life in his later years.

...

However, even so, she could do nothing about the current situation of the White Group.

Thinking of this, she could not help but sigh secretly.

Christopher came back not long after he left.

Seeing this, Yvonne excused herself.

After she left, Janice looked at Christopher and asked, "How are they? Are the two little kids doing well?"

Janice couldn’t wait to ask.

Christopher frowned. "Pretty good."

"Have they grown up? Have they changed a lot since they were born?"

Janice kept asking questions like a curious child.

Christopher felt very helpless. In fact, he had only taken a glance at the kids, and he hadn’t been able to see them carefully.

Moreover, the two babies were still in the incubators, so he couldn’t see them clearly.

Janice frowned when she saw that there was no response. "You didn’t go take a look at them, did you?"

"Yes, I did," Christopher replied.

"What about photos and videos?"

Janice reached towards him.

Christopher paused before taking his phone out and fiddling with it for a moment to hand it over.

Janice took the phone and saw that he had switched to the album’s page. When she clicked on it, she realized that there were indeed a few photos.

In the photo, two children, who stayed in two transparent glass incubators, had rosy cheeks and looked very cute.

In one of the photos, the baby stuck out his little tongue.

Janice felt like her heart was about to melt. She wished to have two wings and fly over to take a closer look at her babies, who were two lumps of flesh that had just fallen out of her belly!

"Honey, tell me which one of them is the elder brother, and which one is the younger sister."

Hearing this, Christopher bent down and leaned closer to the phone screen for a closer look. He pointed at one of the kids who stuck out her tongue. "This is the younger sister."

"Then this is the elder brother?"

Christopher nodded.

As Janice looked at the photos, she showed the kind of smile she would have as a mother of her children. The more she looked at photos, the more she liked them.

She remembered the names she had thought of a long time ago.

At that time, she didn’t know the gender of her babies, so she simply picked one name for a baby girl, and the other one for a baby boy. Now it seemed that it was just right.

Then, she said to the one sticking out her tongue, "Baby, Mommy will call you Jennifer from now on. And as for you, I will call you Wayne, okay?"

Just as Janice was staring at the phone screen in a daze, a large hand suddenly reached out and snatched the phone away.

She looked at him unhappily. "I haven’t taken a good look at those photos yet." "You can’t look at the phone for too long." Christopher directly put the phone away.

Janice didn’t want to stop looking at those photos on the phone, but he confiscated the phone. She snorted and turned away, ignoring him.

Looking at Janice getting angry like a child, Christopher couldn’t help but chuckle. "Well, I promise you. When you can get out of bed, I’ll take you to see them."

"That’s what you said."

Only then did Janice turn around.

Christopher nodded.

On the third day, Janice could get out of her bed with the help of others and walked a few steps.

By the fifth day, she was basically walking without any support, so she pestered Christopher to take her to see Jennifer and Wayne.

Christopher had no choice but to take her there.

When she saw the two little guys in the incubators, Janice was so excited that she couldn’t speak.

After all, she’d glanced at them hastily when she gave birth to the twin, and she didn’t even have the chance to take a closer look at them clearly.

At that time, when she saw the two little kids, she really wanted to hug them.

However, they were still too weak at the moment, so she was unable to hug them.

Janice was a bit disappointed. She was somewhat reluctant to leave. "Honey, when do you think they will come out of the incubators?"

....

Christopher helped her walk forward and replied, "The doctor said it would take two weeks."

"Huh? It’s going to take that long?"

Janice sighed.

Janice wished it could be two weeks from now in the blink of an eye.

Later, Wanda came and brought soup made by Nanny Daisy.

"Janice, have you seen the babies?"

When Wanda heard that Yvonne went to the nursery today, she asked excitedly.

Janice nodded. "I have."

"How are the babies?"

"Well, they’ve been taken good care of. They had red cheeks," said Janice.

Wanda was extremely excited when she heard this. She just had a glimpse of the babies from afar through the glass outside the nursery the day Yvonne gave birth to the twins.

"That’s good. When your grandfather knew that you had given birth, he even wanted to come and see you. I stopped him by persuading him for a long time."

"After I’m discharged from the hospital, I will take the babies to see him."

"That’s what I told him. By the way, I heard Chris say that you are going home for recovery," asked Wanda.

Janice did not speak but turned to look at Christopher.

She thought that it was not her decision. Instead, it was his arbitrary decision.

Looking at the slight resentful look in her eyes, Christopher smiled silently and then said, "Yes, she is going home for recovery."

Wanda also agreed and said, "It’s good to go home. It’s comfortable to live at home. I’ll send Nanny Daisy over to help."

Hearing Wanda’s words, Christopher paused and said, "Mom, Nanny Daisy should stay to take care of you and grandpa."

"Yes."

Janice nodded in agreement.

Wanda replied, "That won’t do. A woman’s recovery from pregnancy is a big deal. We must find an experienced and trustworthy person to take care of Janice."

What Wanda said was true, but Christopher obviously had other plans, so he said,

"I’ve arranged others to take care of her. They’re all carefully selected nannies, who are very experienced and have good reputations."

Wanda knew that her son had always been thoughtful.

Therefore, she didn’t insist and said, "That’ll work too. Just let me know if you’re uncomfortable."

After that, Wanda didn’t stay long in the ward and left.

When she walked out of the ward, she met Rob, who was walking out of the elevator.

Wanda was stunned when she saw the pile of documents in his hand and how he walked unsteadily. She quickly went up to help him up.

Rob was also stunned when he saw Wanda. He quickly came to his senses and said, "Ms. Allson."

Wanda smiled as her eyes fell on the document in his hand.

"Are these all for Chris?"

Rob nodded.

Wanda did not say anything more and turned sideways to make way for him. "All right, go ahead."

Rob nodded and walked past her. He seemed to have thought of something and stopped. "Did you drive here?"

Wanda then realized what he meant and said, "I’ll just take a taxi."

"Let me drive you home. Please wait a minute. I’ll come over as soon as I bring the documents inside."

Rob rushed to the ward without waiting for Wanda to agree.

It was too late for Wanda to refuse, so she could only stand where she was and wait for him.

After a short while, Rob returned and took the thermos from Wanda’s hands.

Wanda smiled. When they entered the elevator, there were only two of them.

Looking at the floor level on the panel jumped decreasingly, Wanda paused and asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?"

Rob paused slightly before replying, "Not yet."

"Then you’d better be quick. Look, Chris is already a father."

Wanda could not stop smiling.

Rob took a glance at her as his eyes darkened. "I’m not in a hurry."
