Chapter 2527 - No Attachment, No Form
Chapter 2527 – No Attachment, No Form
Thunder rumbled and lightning flashed over the lake of Su Yi’s heart. Powerful winds swept past.
This tribulation targeting his Dao Heart was upon him, intent on stirring up the “lake’s” waters. Powerful ripples coursed through the lake.
But Su Yi paid this no heed. He just lay there calmly in his wicker chair as if none of this had anything to do with him. He just quietly took it all in.
He didn’t interfere, nor did he fight back. He just watched in silence, like a spectator watching a show outside the stage.
Lu Qingmei was at the head of the boat, leaning against the railing, when her heart suddenly palpitated, and she instinctively gazed into the dome of heaven.
She wasn’t sure when they’d gotten there, but the sky was full of numerous strange gray tribulation clouds.
The clouds weren’t at all eye-catching, and they made no noise. They’d appeared unnoticed, seemingly out of nowhere.
But when she saw them, the look on Lu Qingmei’s beautiful face shifted dramatically. Her heart was under attack!
It felt as if countless bolts of tribulation lightning were descending from the heavens, ruthlessly assailing her Dao Heart. She couldn’t even begin to defend herself or fight back. All she could do was watch it happen.
Because this was a tribulation targeting the Dao Heart! How was she supposed to defend herself against that?
Her hair stood on end. Have… have problems arisen in my Dao Heart? Have I developed a heart devil and somehow invited this tribulation?
An indescribable sense of helplessness, panic, and despair washed over her like waters at high tide. She felt as if she were on the verge of drowning, unable to breathe.
As a world-famous peak Nine-Tribulation Master Goddess, Lu Qingmei had never even considered the possibility that such an unbelievable tribulation would befall her out of nowhere.
She wasn’t all prepared for it, and there’d been no sign of it. It just showed up out of nowhere, catching her off guard.
She could sense a true, potentially lethal threat!
What should I do? Lu Qingmei’s mind went blank. She was completely flustered.
For all of her extensive, far-reaching abilities, she felt helpless to do anything but wait for death…
But it was then that a calm voice rang out. “This is my Heart Tribulation. It has nothing to do with you, so don’t jump to conclusions.”
Every word was calm, yet this voice was like a wind sweeping away remnants of clouds. All of Lu Qingmei’s terror and despair vanished in a flash.
It was as if her heart and mind had climbed out of a dark abyss, seeing the light of day once more. She came fully back to her senses.
This is his tribulation of the heart? Lu Qingmei was stunned. Her expression shifted erratically. A single look filled me with such despair that I felt as if my heart might burst. Just how terrifying of a tribulation must it be?
And it’s targeting Su Yi’s heart. Just how terrifying must this be for him?
Suddenly, she picked up on a few details. This tribulation had appeared out of nowhere, but Su Yi could still divide his attention enough to warn her, jolting her out of that state of helplessness and despair.
That aside, Su Yi was still controlling the treasure ship’s flight, and the vessel showed no sign of slowing down.
These details told Lu Qingmei that Su Yi didn’t feel at all threatened by this terrifying tribulation that had appeared out of nowhere!
She gradually calmed down; she’d discovered that the journey was proceeding smoothly, with no sign of danger save for the mysterious gray tribulation clouds following them like a shadow.
If not for her terrifying experience earlier, all of this would have seemed as ordinary as could be.
He heard thunder amidst silence, and inadvertently underwent a tribulation of the heart… But… What kind of tribulation is this?
The Undying Realm requires overcoming the Nine Dao-Refining Tribulations, but not one of them specifically targets the Dao Heart.
Lu Qingmei couldn’t wrap her head around it.
Meanwhile, an unbelievable scene appeared in the “lake” of Su Yi’s heart.
No matter how the lightning assailed it, when it struck the lake of his heart, it melted away, like a clay ox dissolving into the ocean. The tribulation’s power silently sank and vanished.
No matter how the winds raged, they could stir up no further waves. They couldn’t even produce any more ripples.
The lake of Su Yi’s heart was calm and as smooth as the surface of a mirror. The booming thunder silently vanished, and the raging winds created no ripples.
It looked like a lake, but it was as firm and unyielding as a boulder, and as eternal and immovable as a mountain.
As the churning lightning fused into the lake of his heart, it transformed into incomparably overflowing power that continuously gathered at the lakebed.
Gradually, the tribulation clouds beneath the firmament dissipated, and the gathering power in the lake of Su Yi’s heart erupted like a volcano.
Boom!!
The lake shook violently, and towering waves rose into the sky.
Streaks of resplendent light shot out of the lakebed, illuminating the nine heavens and expelling the darkness.
This was the light of the heart. It could also be interpreted as the light of wisdom.
Within the heart, his soul stirred, and wisdom arose!
In that moment, Su Yi suddenly broke through a sort of cage. He felt a strange, wondrous sensation, as if his heart were connecting the ages and his thoughts were reaching all worlds.
He’d experienced a similar sensation while cultivating on Sunset Perch Island, except now, it was extraordinarily clear and strong.
If the ages were a book, then all of that book’s secrets were now laid bare in Su Yi’s heart, down to the finest of details.
If the heavens were a painting, then that painting’s minutiae were on display in his mind. His heart wandered freely, and his thoughts connected the ages!
The light of wisdom surged within his heart, stirring his soul and giving rise to a strange, mysterious power. It was indistinct, but it seemed to form an illusory figure.
The figure was seated cross-legged, glowing with the light of wisdom, the only source of light amidst the endless lands of Su Yi’s heart.
This was a true Heart Soul!
In the past, it was just formless, secret power of the heart, yet now, it was as if chaos had given rise to a spiritual body. That secret power had condensed into a figure!
This transformation was full of the mysteries of the first parting of chaos and the birth of consciousness. It was too wondrous for words.
Su Yi suddenly had numerous revelations. The heart was full of profundities upon profundities, but it was the root of one’s vital source!
Without a heart, there was no spirit.
The apertures of the heart opened, the soul palpitated, the light of wisdom lit, and the Heart Soul condensed!
This was a process of evolution, a breaking of barriers, a transcendence of the material.
When you formed a Heart Soul, you could sever your obsessions, break your delusions, and free yourself of the confines of the seven emotions and six desires. The negative karma in your would no longer lead you astray!
This wasn’t snuffing out the emotions or desires, nor did it resemble Gu Huaxian’s path of ultimate heartlessness. It wasn’t a severing of one’s humanity.
Rather, the Heart Soul served as a guide to transcend one’s humanity!
Gradually, the transformation came to a close.
When Su Yi examined his heart, he found his thoughts unfettered, without illusions or fears. He could clearly sense his obsessions and mental blockages, and he could sever them at will. They could no longer trouble or restrict him!
Su Yi whispered silently, Now that I’ve formed a Heart Soul, I have no material attachments, and I’m no longer bound by form or appearances. I’ll call this stage ‘No Attachment, No Form!
His Heart Soul stirred, and his thoughts seemed capable of wandering the ages and transcending the heavens!
He felt as if he could see the transformations, presences, and mysteries of his surroundings clearly, as if all were close at hand.
It seemed that, so long as he willed it, he could soar beyond the cage of the heavens and everything in them, becoming truly free and at ease!
But a moment later, Su Yi set those thoughts aside. He just felt this way because he’d condensed his Heart Soul; it wasn’t real.
Just because he could see further didn’t mean he could reach those faraway places immediately.
Still, I should be able to seek out and touch the threshold of the River of Destiny now!
The moment his Heart Soul took shape, he realized that he’d reached the last step of his unprecedented path through the Undying Realm.
His heart could wander freely through time and space. Naturally, that meant he could perceive the secrets of destiny and touch the threshold of Eternity!
His past lives, Yi Daoxuan and Li Fuyou, had once stood here, too.
The difference was that they’d never cultivated a Heart Soul, and they hadn’t walked Su Yi’s unprecedented path through the Undying Realm!
Su Yi had invented this path himself. It was divided into three levels.
No Laws, No Heavens.
No Beginning, No End.
And No Attachment, No Form.
These three levels targeted his powers of the Grand Dao, his cultivation base, and his Dao Heart respectively!
This was, naturally, completely different from the typical Undying Realm and its Dao-Refining Tribulations.
What does it mean to be Undying? It means the body, heart, and soul do not wither! By the same light, my Dao shall exist in perpetuity. Thus, my Dao is Undying!
Su Yi took out a jug of wine and drank with relish.
Forming a heart Soul hadn’t merely transformed his heart. It transformed his Undying Realm cultivation base, too.
The Heart Soul’s light of wisdom flowed, stimulating his qi and fusing with his cultivation base. His essence, qi, and spirit seemed to fuse into one, and his cultivation base, powers of the Grand Dao, and vital energy were tempered and unified.
My spirit, heart, and soul are one, and my cultivation powers of the Dao, and vitality have fused. This stage is wondrous indeed, sighed Su Yi.
These were the wonders of seeking the Dao. Only those who began this process could grasp these mysteries and experience this beautiful scenery. This was what had drawn so many cultivators to pursue the Dao throughout the ages!
But the thought that the three Fire Jujubes he’d eaten in the Ruins of Supreme Simplicity hadn’t helped him break through, and that he’d instead broken through after an inadvertent stirring of the heart, left Su Yi feeling rueful.
This was no mere coincidence.
This was the result of gradual accumulations piling up over time. Without that process of accumulation and tempering, he could never have had the sudden stirring that led to his breakthrough.
Once Su Yi calmed his heart and sensed his changes for a while, he was certain that to proceed further with his cultivation, he’d need to refine his Heart Soul and polish his cultivation base.
Once both were without flaw, he could strive for Eternity!
I just wonder whether my first incarnation predicted the current state of my heart and mind… Something occurred to Su Yi, and he took out the rusted sword sheath.
He needed his first incarnation’s cultivation experience to confirm some of his revelations and predictions!
