First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2510 - Submit or Perish

Chapter 2510 – Submit or Perish

“In that case, are you willing to change your mind, Fellow Daoist?” asked Huo Yunhu.

Su Yi shook his head.

Huo Yunhu let out a burst of barking laughter. His eyes narrowed, and he glared at Su Yi in silence. The atmosphere in the hall silently grew stifled and oppressive.

“In that case, it seems everything I said earlier was a waste of spit,” muttered Huo Yunhu. His expression had frosted over, and his whole body emanated formless pressure. This was the aura of a Limitless Dao Lord. It was so oppressive that they could barely breathe.

Lu Qiu couldn’t help but say, “Martial Uncle, I said it earlier, didn’t I? He thinks too highly of himself, and he looks down on everyone else. There’s no need to be polite to him!”

His gaze was cold and decidedly unfriendly.

Su Yi ignored him, took out a jug of wine, and had a sip of wine. “When you go back, might I trouble you to pass on a message to Heavenly Sovereign Wen?”

Huo Yunhu’s brow furrowed. “What message?”

“I’ve seen his sincerity,” said Su Yi. “Another day, I’ll be sure to give Limitless Palace a similar opportunity.”

Lu Qiu was stunned. What the hell does he mean by that?

Huo Yunhe forcefully suppressed his anger, then said expressionlessly, “Oh? What kind of opportunity?”

Everyone else pricked up their ears.

Su Yi said airily, “To submit or perish.”

It was just eight words, but they went off like a thunderclap. Everyone’s heart shook, and everyone looked stricken.

The Qilin Ancient looked dazed. Master was modest, amiable, and he abstained from worldly strife.

But even though Su Yi is his reincarnation, his personality is obviously different. He might look calm and detached, but in truth, he’s incomparably domineering!

His tyrannical, contemptuous attitude is simply unparalleled!

Who else in the Eternal Heavens Domain would dare to threaten someone in possession of an Eternal Throne?

If word gets out, I’m afraid no one will believe it!

“Wh-what did you just say?” Huo Yunhu was stunned. He found this hard to believe.

Lu Qiu, meanwhile, was instantly agitated. “Martial Uncle, he’s got the ruthless heart of a wolf! He isn’t just refusing to work with us. He’s even threatening the Limitless Palace and everyone in it!”

Boom!

A terrifying aura emanated from Huo Yunhu, filling the hall.

All of the Qilin higher-ups felt stifled and suffocated. Without exception, their hair stood on end, and their expressions shifted.

But Su Yi didn’t even seem to notice. He took a sip of wine and continued, utterly unperturbed. “As an emissary, your job is to pass on messages. Do not overstep, and don’t forget your place.”

Huo Yunhu slowly rose, his presence growing all the more imposing as he said slowly and clearly, “I’d like to hear you say that again!”

The atmosphere was oppressive, and the air was rife with tension. The crowd found it difficult to breathe.

Su Yi glanced at Huo Yunhu. “Are you sure you want a falling out here and now?”

The Qilin Ancient silently rose, then said, “Huo Yunhu, Fellow Daoist Su has already made up his mind. Your job is now to go back and tell Heavenly Sovereign Wen what he said, word for word. It’s up to the Heavenly Sovereign to decide what to do next!”

Earlier, he’d addressed Huo Yunhu as “esteemed emissary” and Heavenly Sovereign Wen as “His Excellency the Heavenly Sovereign.” He’d been as polite as could be.

But now, his attitude had obviously changed. After all, the negotiation had failed. What need was there for any further politeness?

Lu Qiu suddenly pointed at the Qilin Ancient and shouted, “Who do you think you are, old man? Who are you to tell us what to do?”

This was a blatant attempt at humiliation, and it provoked everyone in the room. All of them shot to their feet and glowered.

So what if they were from the Limitless Palace? This was the God Domain, and moreover, they were in Qilin territory!

Yet an outsider was insulting the Ancient to his face. Who could have tolerated such a thing?

“What, do you want to fight?” Lu Qiu laughed coldly. “The Qilin Race really did produce quite a few unparalleled figures back when it was still active in the Eternal Heavens Domain, but the moment you parted ways with the Malevolent Sword Venerate and fled to the God Domain, you became no more than masterless dogs!”

His attitude was incomparably domineering. He swept his gaze across the group and said, “In the eyes of the Limitless Palace, the Qilin are no different from ants. We can destroy you with a snap or our fingers!”

He pointed at Su Yi. “Are you sure you want to become enemies with Limitless Palace alongside that fool who doesn’t know what’s good for him?”

His voice boomed throughout the hall.

Everyone’s expressions were unsightly and full of uncertainty.

It was then that Su Yi rose. “Today, you must die. I’ll be interested to see whether your Limitless Palace can save you.”

As his slow, clear voice rang out, Su Yi drew closer to Lu Qiu.

With every step he took, his murderous intent rose, but none of it leaked; all of it was focused on Lu Qiu and Lu Qiu alone.

By the time he’d taken his second step, Lu Qiu could no longer breathe. His expression shifted dramatically.

He could sense the terrifying pressure bearing down on him. It felt suffocating, as if he weren’t facing a person, but rather, an endless abyss blotting out the sun!

He, meanwhile, felt as tiny and insignificant as an ant. His body, heart, and cultivation base were all under terrifying suppression!

“Fellow Daoist Su…” Qi Jingxiao looked worried, and he was just about to say something when the Qilin Ancient interrupted him.

“Don’t try to dissuade him,” said the Ancient. “No matter the consequences, the Qilin Race will bear them alongside Fellow Daoist Su!”

“Hmph!” Huo Yunhu snorted coldly. An inscrutable, mysterious Eternal aura surged forth and bore down on Su Yi.

An Eternal could snuff out any Master God with ease!

This was common knowledge on the River of Destiny.

Even though Huo Yunhu had merely sent an avatar of his will, the aura of an Eternal was terrifying to the extreme. It was far beyond the bounds of the Undying Realm.

Boom!

The hall shattered into pieces. All of the tables and chairs were reduced to powder.

But when this pressure bore down on Su Yi, it amounted to no more than a clear breeze blowing past his face. It didn’t impact him in the slightest.

“An ant trying to shake a tree.” Su Yi’s gaze filled with disdain.

Back in the Thunderwind Sea, Su Yi fought the Malevolent Sword Venerate. He too had appeared in the God Domain as an avatar of will.

However, he controlled the power of the Starscape, the ninth most powerful Laws in the Eternal Heavens Domain. His avatar was far stronger than that of a Limitless Dao Lord like Huo Yunhu.

But the Malevolent Sword Venerate’s avatar of will had nonetheless lost in the end.

And unlike when he’d fought the Malevolent Sword Venerate, Su Yi was now in the No Beginning, No End stage of his cultivation. Moreover, he’d even tempered his cultivation to the peak of the level.

Su Yi didn’t even need to do anything. All he had to do was circulate the Laws of Supreme Emergence, a representative of the God Domain’s “divine punishment. That was enough to neutralize this pressure with ease.

After all, this was the God Domain. Its Laws severely restricted the power of the Malevolent Sword Venerate’s avatar.

How could they not restrict Huo Yunhu, too?

Boom!

Su Yi’s voice had only just rung out when he too erupted with sharp, imposing pressure.

Huo Yunhu instantly felt as if a divine mountain had slammed into him. He went flying on impact, then landed several dozen feet away.

Everyone was astonished. Gasps rang out. Huo Yunhu is an Eternal. How could his avatar of will… be so weak?

And when Su Yi took his third step, his sharp, tyrannical murderous intent swept forth in waves as if capable of overturning mountains and seas. It slammed ruthlessly into Lu Qiu.

His Dao Heart wouldn’t be able to hold out much longer. His soul palpitated, and he felt as helpless as a single leaf of duckweed in turbulent seas.

“Break!” Lu Qiu roared, his eyes bloodshot, drew a golden short halberd, and swung with all his might. The halberd was quite eye-catching, and its murderous intent was shocking. As it moved, it filled the air with streaks of golden electricity.

He was a disciple of the Limitless Palace. Although he’d yet to step into Eternity, he was still a Nine-Tribulation Master God.

He had, after all, been chosen to accompany a prominent expert like Huo Yunhu. That was more than enough to prove how extraordinary his identity and cultivation base were.

He’d come to the God Domain using a secret treasure to hide his presence. Thus, he’d been able to come here in the flesh, not as an avatar of will.

That aside, his golden short halberd was a secret treasure, and it was imbued with the power of an Eternal. It was shockingly destructive, and with it, he could easily kill others of the same level.

Thus, when he attacked in full force, everyone looked stricken, and everyone sensed an impending lethal threat.

The moment this strike landed, they feared the aftershock alone would do severe damage to the Qilin Race.

But it was then that Su Yi finally attacked.

Clang!

The humming of a sword rang out, and a sword curtain appeared out of nowhere, blanketing the sky and blotting out the sun. It sealed everything off on all sides.

When Lu Qiu’s shocking stride collided with the sword curtain, it barely even stirred up ripples before dissipating.

The curtain neutralized the full extent of the aftershock, too.

Lu Qiu looked stricken. Inwardly, he cried out in alarm. Out loud, he roared, “Su Yi, if you kill me, the Limitless Palace won’t spa—”

Boom!

Before he could finish his threat, the sword curtain rumbled and boomed, firing countless streaks of sword qi.

Lu Qiu’s body was instantly sliced into countless chunks. Only his severed head remained intact. His soul and the rest of his body were ground away to nothing. Only ashes remained!

In just three steps and a single slash, he slew Lu Qiu, a disciple of Limitless Palace! All the while staving off Huo Yunhu’s eternal aura and sending his avatar of will flying!

It seemed slow, but in truth, everything happened at once. It was over the blink of an eye.

Qi Jingxiao, Qi Wei, and the others all found themselves thinking the same thing: It’s only been a year since he helped us fight the Great Yin Divine Race, but Su Yi’s strength has already grown to unfathomable heights!

The Qilin Ancient’s heart churned with emotion as he remembered his master.

After passing through the cycle of reincarnation, Su Yi really was different from the master he remembered. It wasn’t a matter of good or bad. They just had entirely different personalities and ways of doing things.

As the dust and smoke cleared, Su Yi stretched out his head and grabbed Lu Qiu’s severed head.

Then, he walked over to Huo Yunhu.

“What, do you want to kill and silence me, too?” Huo Yunhu had long since risen to his feet, his face ashen. His eyes blazed with utter fury. “I guarantee that you’ll never succeed!”

He was just an avatar of will. Even if he was destroyed, it wouldn’t have much of an effect on his real body.

Nonetheless, the sight of Su Yi’s leisurely approach put enormous pressure on him.

“Don’t worry,” said Su Yi, offering him Lu Qiu’s severed head. “I still need you to deliver my message to Heavenly Emperor Wen, and how could I possibly bully a mere avatar of will? Take this head with you.”

Huo Yunhu was stunned. His brow furrowed.

Su Yi, meanwhile, continued, “With this head, you can pin the blame for the failed negotiations entirely on him. After all, the dead can no longer speak up for themselves, right?”

He smiled faintly and clapped Huo Yunhu on the shoulder.
