First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2499 - Disregard

Chapter 2499 – Disregard

Master God Yun Xiao.

He was one of the pillars of the Three Purities Daoist Court, as well as one of the leading Nine-Tribulation Master Gods in the God Domain. His death marked the end of a living legend and the loss of one of his sect’s pillars!

But Wen Qingfeng and the others weren’t the least bit rueful about it.

Way back in the Boundless Battlefield, many of their allies had died at the hands of apprentice brothers Yun Xiao and Yun He. Today, they were getting their revenge. All they felt was incomparable satisfaction!

“Senior Apprentice Brother——!” Master God Yun He roared in grief, his voice shaking the nine heavens. He attacked as if in a frenzy, pouring his strength into the Greater Purity Seal as he led his allies into battle.

Unfortunately, it would prove difficult for them to break through their encirclement.

When Yun Xiao died, Wen Qingfeng, Ji Heng, and the others fighting him joined the battle against Yun He, joining forces with the Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor to surround and defeat their remaining enemies.

Roars shook the heavens, and dazzling divine radiance swept outward.

The thirty thousand miles around the Three Purities Daoist Court collapsed.

This was what happened when Nine-Tribulation Master Gods fought. Throughout the ages, such scenes had only played out in the Boundless Battlefield.

Yet now, one such battle was taking place in the Three Purities Daoist Court!

The aftershock shook both heaven and earth, producing unbelievable, calamitous phenomena in the skies of the entire Spirit Firmament Divine Continent.

It was obvious how fierce this battle was.

Su Yi, however, retracted his gaze and took a talisman out of his sleeve. It was flashing repeatedly as it received one piece of news after another.

“When we arrived at the Western Paradise Spirit Mountains yesterday, we found that the entire orthodoxy had vanished. We couldn’t even find any worthwhile leads.”

“The Donghua Sword Pavilion announced today that they’re closing their gates and going into hiding.”

“According to our reports, the Severed Heavens Demon Master left his sect after the battle in the Hazy Sea Forbidden Zone, and there’s been no word of him since.”

…The Qilin Trading Company was gathering information and sending it to him. Then, after Qi Wei combed through and summarized it, she sent it to Su Yi, one development after another.

Su Yi looked through it, his expression calm. None of this came as a surprise.

His enemies weren’t stupid. They wouldn’t be stupid enough to just wait around until he felt like attacking them.

The Dipankara Buddha, the Severed Heavens Demon Master, and the other old-timers who opposed him had stood at the top of the God Domain for hundreds of thousands of years. They naturally weren’t stupid.

Their understanding of the situation, and of Su Yi, was far beyond other people.

After the battle at the Tianxiu Sword Shrine, they reacted immediately. Their spirit was far beyond what others could hope to match.

Su Yi dared say with certainty that the Three Purities Daoist Court had been planning to leave, too. They were fighting today simply because he’d arrived before they’d gotten the chance, catching them off guard.

After all, the Tianxiu Sword Shrine was also in the Spirit Firmament Divine Continent. He’d rushed over after defeating Lu Shi, disregarding his wounds, all for the sake of sealing off the Three Purities Daoist Court’s escape routes!

That was why Su Yi had called so many of his old friends and allies over.

If his allies acted separately, any attempts to root out enemies would most likely end in failure. After all, even if they managed to surround their enemies, their enemies were dangerous.

After all, all of their enemies were backed by a major orthodoxy!

Su Yi wouldn’t ask his friends to risk their lives or fight to the death lightly.

That said… his plan had only just begun. Su Yi wasn’t in a rush. He’d deal with the Three Purities Daoist Court, then worry about the rest later.

As he pondered, a shout suddenly emanated from a distance. Su Yi looked over and saw that yet another Nine-Tribulation Master God had died a brutal death in battle.

Without overwhelmingly superior strength, killing opponents of the same cultivation really isn’t so easy… thought Su Yi.

By now, Master God Yun He and his allied Nine-Tribulation Master Gods numbered just nine people in total. In terms of numbers, they were at an absolute disadvantage.

Especially since Yun He was down to just a soul body.

Even so, killing them still wasn’t so easy. It would take time. This was what made battles with others of the same level so difficult.

But Su Yi wasn’t worried that anything would go awry. Di E had had too many reservations to participate in the battle in the Hazy Sea Forbidden Zone. There was no way he’d show up now.

Moreover, Yun He’s backer, Dao Venerate Lu Shi, had only just lost his avatar of will. There was no way he could help Yun He any further.

The only one Su YI couldn’t quite get a read on was the Dipankara Buddha. The old-timer’s heart was hard to read. There was no guarantee he wouldn’t do something unexpected.

That was why Su Yi had come to oversee things. It might have seemed like he was doing nothing, but in truth, he was paying close attention. The second something unexpected happened, he’d respond accordingly.

Before long, yet another Nine-Tribulation Master God had died. His blood splattered the air as he fell in battle.

Su Yi silently closed his eyes, calmed his heart, and turned his attention toward treating his wounds.

Off in the distance, the fierce, bloody battle raged on. Heaven and earth were overcast, and the landscape was laid to ruin.

Anyone seeing this would have struggled to remain calm.

Except for Su Yi. The way he saw it, there was no longer any need to pay attention to the proceedings.

Running a nation was like cooking a fish; both required care and minimal intervention.

The same was true of killing one’s enemies.

About fifteen minutes later, two more Nine-Tribulation Master Gods were dead.

Half an hour later, only three remained, including Yun He himself.

Some were already in inescapable peril, and they chose to aim for mutual destruction.

Unfortunately for them, all such attempts ended in failure. Ultimately, few people in this world could really turn things around in the face of certain doom.

Miracles were miracles precisely because they almost never happened.

“I’ll take you down if it’s the last thing I do!” A heaven-shaking roar rang out as a Nine-Tribulation Master God sacrificed his cultivation base.

But before he could even attack, Divine Priestess Celestial Rains suppressed him.

Practically simultaneously, Wen Qingfeng’s sword light ran him through, and the River Child’s palm strike shattered his skull.

Even his fragmented body and remnant soul were quickly devoured by Divine Corpse Blood Robe!

He was more than just destroyed in body and soul. He’d become someone’s dinner!

Meanwhile, Ji Heng, Jian Dushan, the Sky-Swallowing Toad Ancestor, and the others joined forces to kill his companion.

Yun He was now the only one left!

He’d lasted this long entirely thanks to his Taboo Treasure, the Greater Purity Seal. It was incomparably mystical and wondrously powerful. It had saved Yun He from otherwise lethal peril on numerous occasions thus far.

But no matter how heaven-defying Taboo Treasures were, external items were ultimately still external. Yun He wouldn’t last much longer.

The seemingly youthful Master God, the unparalleled figure who liked to explore the world on his wooden sword, couldn’t help but sigh.

His gaze shifted as he scanned each of his enemies’ faces, then looked into the distance.

The Three Purities Daoist Court’s mountain-protecting formation had collapsed, splitting into pieces. The lands he’d once been so familiar with had been reduced to scorched earth

Foundations and prestige built up over hundreds of thousands of years had instantly gone up in a puff of smoke.

An indescribable bitterness and grief coursed through his heart. Ultimately, both success and failure are transient. Turn your head, and they’ll vanish!

In the pursuit of the Grand Dao, nothing is ever truly everlasting. Not even a faction as mighty as the Three Purities Daoist Court could avoid defeat today!

Suddenly, Yun He’s pupils constricted, and his gaze shifted.

A wicker chair was hovering in midair. Su Yi sat languidly atop it, his eyes closed as if he were dozing. It seemed he wasn’t the least bit interested in their battle; he couldn’t even be bothered to watch it.

How fierce and shocking had this battle been? It was enough to rewrite the entire God Domain’s balance of power! But Su Yi couldn’t even be bothered to watch!

This was extraordinarily grating to the eyes, like an invisible sword thrust ruthlessly into Yun He’s heart!

He and Li Fuyou had fought on countless occasions over the years. He’d once dismissed Su Yi as a trivial figure unworthy of his concern, but now…

The Three Purities Daoist Court had fallen, and he was surrounded on all sides, but his long-standing enemy couldn’t even be bothered to spare him a glance!

This sheer disregard was what hurt Yun He the most, as it proved that in Su Yi’s heart, he was no longer worthy of opposing him. He was no different from a random stone or blade of grass growing by the side of the road.

It was only natural to disregard something like that!

“Die!” Suddenly, Yun He bellowed, cast aside all other thoughts, and charged at Su Yi.

Boom!!

He chose to go all out, his soul origin ignited with blazing flames. The Greater Purity Seal rumbled and boomed, erupting with eye-catching, wondrous glyphs of the Grand Dao that forcefully broke through his enemies’ encirclement.

In the process, his soul origin was damaged. It was on the verge of collapse.

But he didn’t care at all. He shifted through the sky, launching the Greater Purity Seal at Su Yi’s head with all his might.

The dome of heaven collapsed. All-encompassing ripples of destructive power filled the sky with strange glyphs, destroying the area around Su Yi.

Wen Qingfeng and the others looked stricken. They tried their utmost to stop Yun He, but they were one step too late.

None of them had anticipated that Yun He would use the last of his strength to launch a no-holds-barred attack on Su Yi.

Meanwhile, in his wicker chair, Su Yi silently opened his eyes.

A rusted sword sheath silently rose into the air, producing a line of black sword qi that mindlessly devoured all of the strange glyphs.

Su Yi, meanwhile, vanished into thin air, then reappeared in front of Yun He.

He stretched out his hand and grabbed.

Bang!

He seized Yun He’s burning soul body by the throat, preventing him from moving.

There was no way Yun He could aim for mutual destruction now. He was trapped!

This entire series of movements was completed in one fell swoop. All of it happened at once.

“Want to die by my hand?” asked Su Yi.

Yun He’s expression remained outwardly calm, but the depths of his gaze surged with madness. He said slowly and clearly, “I just want to tell you that although the Three Purities Daoist Court has fallen, our founder is waiting for you in the River of Destiny. One day, he’ll be sure to avenge us!”

Boom!

His soul origin split, scattering into ash.

Yun He had been an unparalleled Master God of the Dao of the Sword. He’d been the soul of the Three Purities Daoist Court, as well as one of the most legendary cultivators in the entire God Domain.

But now, he was dead!

Dust and smoke permeated heaven and earth.

The sky was still in chaos, and the air still reeked of blood.

Su Yi’s brow furrowed. The founder of the Three Purities Daoist Court is waiting for me on the River of Destiny?

But before Su Yi could give the matter any further thought, strange rumbling rang out.

The Greater Purity Seal Yun He had wielded suddenly shot into the firmament, boring through time and space as if to flee!
