Chapter 2333 - So-Called Fortune
Chapter 2333 – So-Called Fortune
Hunger.
Hunger originating from the depths of his soul roared from within Su Yi’s body.
When hunger peaked, the heart grew frantic, but the body grew weak.
That was Su Yi’s current state. The hunger burned like fire, inside and out. He was like a wolf, red-eyed with hunger and desperate to eat.
Without the slightest hesitation, Su Yi took out bottles of divine medicine, Undying Divine Crystals, and other such divine materials, then refined them without a thought.
The hunger receded slightly, but his body still felt empty.
Su Yi dared not delay. He repeatedly refined the cultivation resources he had on hand, one after another.
These included all manner of rare, unparalleled, precious divine herbs and pills, as well as Undying Materials that could only be happened upon by chance…
Su Yi took them out and refined them all. He couldn’t concern himself with whether or not he was wasting them.
After stepping into the Fortune Realm, he’d absorbed enough power to transform himself, but as his cultivation stabilized, he felt hollowed out. He urgently needed to replenish his energy.
Whoosh!
Firelight interwove around Su Yi. Divine radiance surged.
But even after refining most of the treasures he had on hand, that burning hunger remained.
Su Yi was speechless. This was the first time he’d felt so hungry after a breakthrough since becoming a god. It seemed that if he didn’t replenish his energy, his newly advanced cultivation base would be unstable.
There was nothing for it. Su Yi gnashed his teeth and kept refining more treasures!
He burned through the treasures he’d acquired at Qingwu Divine Court, and the trophies of his battle at Cloudy Heights Temple…
This state lasted a full three days.
In the end, Su Yi took out even the ten pieces of Purplegold Phoenix Jade, a treasure so precious that it would drive even Nine-Tribulation Master Gods red-eyed with greed, and refined them all.
Finally, that panic-inducing, gnawing hunger receded like waters at low tide, giving way to an incomparable feeling of fullness and satisfaction.
His body and soul felt as if they’d just consumed a sumptuous feast. Every pore in his body seemed to relax.
As Su Yi sensed his transformation, he felt deep-seated astonishment and delight.
Fortune.
To cultivators, the term had roughly two meanings. It referred to the blessings of opportunities of heaven and earth, as well as the creative powers of nature.
The “Fortune” of the Divine Dao’s Fortune Realm was the latter kind.
Upon reaching this realm, the Godhead—or in Su Yi’s case, his Sea of Chaos—could manifest the endless wondrous facets of one’s powers of the Grand Dao.
These wondrous manifestations were called the Manifestations of Fortune.
The strength of one’s Manifestation of Fortune had an inextricable connection with the quality of the Godhead one manifested in the Creation Realm, and the Divine Dais one condensed during the Limit Realm.
If the Divine Dais was the condensed form of a god’s powers of the Grand Dao capable of realizing all manner of transformations, then the Manifestation of Fortune was the Dao Fruit that grew of their powers of the Grand Dao.
It was imbued with the mysteries of one’s Grand Dao, and it could use them to manifest all others.
For example, a god who’d condensed his Godhead with the Laws of Elemental Fire could, upon reaching the Fortune Realm, with the Laws of Elemental Fire as a foundation, use the creative powers of his Manifestation of Fortune to display the mysteries of all the Grand Daos of heaven and earth!
Simply put, Fortune Realm cultivators could use their personal powers of the Dao to manifest the mysteries of all Daos. This was naturally terrifying!
This was what made Fortune Realm Greater Gods so powerful.
It seemed outwardly similar to Su Yi’s unique Divine Dao, but it was fundamentally different.
Su Yi used his Dao of the Sword to refine all other Daos. There was no need for “manifestation” or “creation.” He could just fuse the myriad Daos of the Heavens into his own.
If he wanted to, he could even use other Grand Daos as the foundation of his strength.
That was what he’d done while disguising himself as Xiao Jian and cultivating in Qingwu Divine Court, in addition to displaying the strength of the Torch Dragon bloodline.
Other Limit Realm cultivators had to use their own Grand Dao to create and manifest the mysteries of other Daos; it was ultimately just a repurposing of their unchanging foundations in the Grand Dao.
Su Yi’s Fortunate Realm cultivation base was extraordinary. The Epoch Spark swayed over his Sea of Chaos, and a Dao Sword manifested within it.
The sword was indistinct, and enveloped in the rain of chaos light emanating from the Epoch Spark. It looked extraordinarily mysterious.
Others’ Manifestations of Fortune were the products of some sort of Law of the Grand Dao.
The Laws of Elemental Fire might manifest a bundle of flame, while Laws of Elemental Water might produce a flowing stream.
Rarer Daos produced different manifestations.
But Su Yi’s Manifestation of Fortune, the Dao Sword within the Epoch Spark, was unquestionably the only one of its kind!
A marvel of nature, a wondrous manifestation of the Grand Dao. Now I’m just one step away from the Undying Realm! thought Su Yi.
Breaking through had transformed him completely, from his body, soul, and powers of the Grand Dao.
He’d need to take his time to excavate and grasp the specificities. Only then would his cultivation base be truly stable.
But although Su Yi could only roughly estimate his strength, he knew he was far, far stronger than before.
Prior to this, he’d needed to fight with all his might if he were to have any hope of slaying a Six-Tribulation Master God.
Now, he was confident that he could defeat Seven-Tribulation Master Gods. He just wasn’t sure of his odds against Eight-tribulation Master Gods.
And this estimate just took his personal strength into account. When he factored in his weapons and Grand Dao Divine Ability, he’d of course be even stronger!
Su Yi silently opened his eyes.
His aura gradually returned to stillness, almost fading away. He looked little different from an ordinary mortal.
Only his transcendent bearing indicated that he was a cultivator.
Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye clasped his fist and smiled. “Congratulations on reaching the Fortune Realm and grasping the secrets of manifesting the myriad Daos of creation!”
But his smile was a bit strange.
Over the past three days, he’d watched Su Yi cultivate, seeing every last movement. Although he didn’t know exactly how Su Yi’s cultivation base had changed, he was certain that Su Yi was now even more heaven-defying than before.
That was, if nothing else, obvious from the seemingly endless cultivation resources that Su Yi had consumed.
There were so many of them, all of them rare and precious. The sight left Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye dazed and repeatedly astonished.
But Su Yi was devouring them like candy, all to replenish his cultivation base, with no thought of their value.
Some of them, like the Purplegold Phoenix Jades, were so precious that even Nine-Tribulation Master Gods would benefit enormously from refining them.
Yet Su Yi was just using them to stabilize his cultivation base. He didn’t just refine one or two pieces, either. No, he used up all ten!
It was just too terrifying.
Any other Greater God would have long since burst and died, unable to contain all that power!
This detail alone was enough to tell Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye how shocking Su Yi’s transformation was upon breaking into the Fortune Realm!
“Thank you.” Su Yi rose, then nodded in gratitude.
“It seems to me that no matter the age, you could scour all of creation without finding another like you, Fellow Daoist,” Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye sighed. “Meeting you today is an absolute honor.”
He meant every word, too.
Had he perished during the Age of Supreme Emergence, he would never have known that countless years later, a dazzling, unparalleled Bringer of Order like Su Yi would appear in this world.
His eyes had finally been opened!
“You exaggerate, Fellow Daoist.” Su Yi shook his head. “In my eyes, any living creature, no matter its strength or origins, is unique. Even on the same bodhi tree, you cannot find two identical leaves.”
Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye was briefly stunned, then touched. “It’s true.”
Then, he took out a sealed envelope and passed it to Su Yi. “I’m sure you’re headed to Reverse Flow River in search of the Mark of Supreme Emergence next. With this letter, I’m sure you’ll succeed.”
Su Yi couldn’t help but feel a bit surprised. It seems Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye’s attitude toward me has shifted slightly.
Earlier, he saw me as a ‘junior.’ Now, he truly takes me for his Fellow Daoist.
Su Yi thought for a moment, then accepted the envelope. “Thank you!”
Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye waved his gratitude away. “No need to thank me. Even without this letter, I’m sure you could use the Whip and Flame of Supreme Emergence to acquire the Mark of Supreme Emergence with little difficulty.
He paused, then said, “Besides, you could have destroyed me and seized the Blazing Sundial for yourself, but you didn’t. How… could I not sigh in admiration of your magnanimity…?”
The two of them chatted a while longer before Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye said suddenly, “Within less than thirty years, the Dark Days of Legend will arrive. When they do, the Ruins of Supreme Emergence will transform completely. That said, prior to that, if you run into any difficulties, you’re welcome to come looking for me at any time.”
Su Yi was stunned. “But to the best of my knowledge, the Ruins of Supreme Emergence only appear for six months before vanishing…”
Celestial Venerate Zhou Ye laughed. “It’s true that the Ruins of Supreme Emergence will vanish from this world, but if you master the full Supreme Emergence Source Power, you’ll be able to enter whenever you please.”
Su Yi instantly understood. Mastering the complete Supreme Emergence Source Power would effectively give him a key to the Ruins of Supreme Emergence!
……
Outside Sundial City.
When Wan Zitian saw Su Yi emerge, he immediately rushed up to welcome him. He looked utterly delighted, and he clearly took pride in Su Yi’s accomplishments. “Congratulations, Brother Fuyou!”
Master Cloud Refiner, Hua Yin, and the other old monsters rushed over, too.
Master Cloud Refiner clasped his fist and said, “Fellow Daoist Su, we’d like to congratulate you too, for acquiring the Flame of Supreme Emergence, for proving your Dao, and for leaving Sundial City unharmed!”
The other old monsters smiled and nodded along. The atmosphere was instantly lively, harmonious, and joyful.
“A bunch of bootlickers!” The tall young man sneered.
“Senior Apprentice Brother, Master and Su Yi didn’t come into conflict, and Fellow Daoist Su profited enormously from this expedition. It’s indeed worthy of celebrating,” said Hong Li, tugging on his sleeves. “Come on, we should go congratulate him, too.”
Then, she dragged her senior apprentice brother over before he could argue.
But… Su Yi hated nothing more than pleasantries and congratulations, especially since he could tell that Master Cloud Refiner and the others were only lowering themselves like this because they wanted something!
