Chapter 2097 - The Seven Great Celestial Venerates

Chapter 2097 – The Seven Great Celestial Venerates

Now you want to work together? Su Yi couldn’t help but smile.

But before he could respond, the other Greater Gods chimed in, one after another.

“We were tricked once, and we learned a painful lesson. We won’t make the same mistake again!”

“Fellow Daoist Su, you’re sure to need assistants in the Ancient God Domain. Why get hung up on past enmities?”

….The gods were completely frantic. But then, who wouldn’t have been frantic? They’d just watched as Qin Chongyang and six other Greater Gods were suppressed in the blink of an eye!

“I told you to cherish the opportunity, didn’t I? But you thought you were clever. Whose fault is that?” Su Yi said softly.

He’d known this entire time that the gods were up to something and had no real intention of cooperating with him. Naturally, he knew that they’d colluded with his other enemies to kill him at the ferry crossing, too. They were begging for mercy simply to save their own lives. Should the opportunity arise, they were sure to turn on him again.

“Retreat! So long as we escape the ferry crossing, he won’t be able to touch us!” someone suddenly shouted.

Ren Beiyou and the others shot away from the crossing with all their might.

Kaboom!

The taboo power of the Laws came crashing down like a waterfall, enveloping the entire area.

Ren Beiyou and the others had reacted quickly, and each fled faster than the one before. However, this close to the ferry crossing, their struggles were doomed to be in vain.

In the blink of an eye, Su Yi had suppressed every last one of them!

The divine children were unwittingly horrified. All of them watched on in a daze.

“According to the rules of the Deification Star Sea, gods are not permitted to enter. Should one appear, they are to be executed,” said Su Yi. “The Path of the Ancient Gods might have well changed over the years, but now that I’m here, all shall naturally be done in accordance with the rules.”

As his light, airy voice rang out, Su Yi raised and lowered his hand.

Like a ruler issuing judgment.

The power of the natural order surged forth, like the glinting blades of an executioner descending upon the gods.

“No——!!” Terrified cries rang out.

The gods struggled like mad, but they were trapped firmly in place. They could only watch in despair as their judgment came.

Within moments, every last god had been put to death!

Pools of red blood spread across the ground, a startling sight. The divine children felt chills in their hands and feet. All of them looked on in horror.

“Martial Uncle!”

“Elder!”

“Clan Uncle!”

After a brief, stunned pause, many of them cried out in grief and despondency. Mi Yeyun gnashed his teeth. Jin Buyi’s face was ashen. Buddhist Son Lian Sheng closed his eyes and clasped his palms together, a hint of grief on his brow.

The corners of Feng Wuji’s lips twitched, and he muttered, “Martial Uncle Wen Xiao, I warned you many times over, so why did you refuse to listen…? But don’t worry. I most certainly won’t be getting revenge for you.”

Whoosh!

The little monkey shot forth, and when it saw the dead gods strewn all over the ground, its eyes lit up with mad delight.

There was so much soul power! And such dense divine blood and qi!

The vertical eye on its forehead silently opened, and a beam of gray light shot forth and scanned the area. The strewn corpses and pooling blood vanished completely.

“Don’t get greedy,” warned Su Yi.

The little monkey nodded repeatedly.

Meanwhile, Ferryman Mu Tianqi was scared completely out of his wits. He cried out, “Your Excellency Su, this old man is willing to do whatever it takes to make amends for his crimes! Just please, show mercy and spare my humble little life!”

“You knowingly violated the rules. On what basis should I spare you?” Su Yi said coldly.

Mu Tianqi shrieked, “I was coerced! I had no choice but to agree!”

“Oh? Whose orders were you acting on, then?”

“Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss!” Mu Tianqi said hurriedly. “Numerous terrifying experts once held in check by the power of reincarnation have reawakened. Celestial Venerate Fire Abyss is one of them!”

Mu Tianqi went on to explain the situation. Su Yi quickly understood.

The Ancient God Domain really was different from before. The power of reincarnation had disappeared, and long-suppressed, terrifying entities were breaking free and re-entering the world, one after another.

Seven of them were particularly terrifying. Thus, they were known as the Seven Great Celestial Sovereigns of the Ancient God Domain!

Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss was one of the seven. The ferryman, Mu Tianqi, had been acting on his orders.

The Seven Great Celestial Sovereigns were like the rulers of the Ancient God Domain. Each controlled their own territory, and they had vast numbers of subordinates.

The ancient Qin Family was a peak faction of the Path of the Ancient Gods, but they’d long since submitted to Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss, and they now carried out his orders.

“This old man might be the ferryman, but my power is limited. I had no choice but to obey Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss’s orders,” Mu Tianqi said bitterly.

A moment later, his spirits soared. “Fortunately, you’ve returned. I’m sure you can restore order to the…”

Splurt!

A blade manifested of the Laws of the natural order cleaved into Mu Tianqi. His eyes widened in shock, and his voice came to an abrupt halt.

“When everything’s going your way, you throw your weight around and show off. The moment something goes awry, you’re a helpless, pitiful worm. Who’d believe you?” Su Yi shook his head.

The little monkey walked on over and “helped” Mu Tianqi dispose of his corpse. It was as deft as could be.

Meanwhile, Qin Chongyang and the others watched all of this play out, and their hopes turned to ash. They knew that struggling would do them no good.

“Even with the Epoch Spark, if you go to the Ancient God Domain, you’ll be doomed!” Qin Chongyang suddenly raised his head with great difficulty and said hoarsely, every word slow and clear, “Everyone knows you’ve returned, and all of them… are waiting for you!”

Su Yi walked over, then looked down at Qin Chongyang. “And what does that have to do with you?”

“…” Qin Chongyang couldn’t answer that.

Splurt!

A blade of the natural order descended, killing him on the spot.

The other six panicked.

“I need someone to tell me about the Ancient God Domain,” Su Yi said casually. “Whoever cooperates can live. Choose for yourselves.”

The six of them were briefly stunned. They exchanged glances.

A thin old man in gray reacted the quickest and spoke before the others got the chance. “I’m willing to cooperate!”

“Futao, you spineless craven!”

“Shameless! I didn’t realize you were that desperate to escape death!” someone cursed him out.

But someone else begged for mercy, too. “I’m willing to cooperate too! Please, Your Excellency Su! Give me a chance!”

Su Yi looked at the old man in gray. “Qin Futao, huh? You can hold onto your life for now.”

The old man was instantly mad with delight. “Thank you so much, Your Excellency. Thank you so much!”

Su Yi then addressed the other five. “I also need someone else for verification. If you catch Qin Futao in a lie, you can live.”

Qin Futao quivered from head to toe.

“I’m willing! Your Excellency Su, I’m willing!” a middle-aged man in black cried out urgently, longing written all over his face. “I can do more than just ensure that Qin Futao doesn’t dare to lie to you. I can also tell you everything I know!”

“Very well. You’ll do.” Su Yi nodded.

The other four panicked. All of them frantically expressed their willingness to cooperate.

Alas, in Su Yi’s eyes, they were no longer useful. They attacked directly, killing the four of them on the spot.

As usual, the little monkey approached obsequiously to clean up the mess. Su Yi, meanwhile, led Qin Futao and the middle-aged man to find a place for a chat.

The divine children watched from a distance, taking it all in. All of them stood there like clay statues, their hearts quivering.

Su Yi’s abilities were far too terrifying!

With a casual gesture, he’d cut down all those lofty and superior gods like a farmer cutting wheat. Barely any time had passed, but over a dozen Greater Gods had died brutal deaths!

But Su Yi acted as if he’d done something too trivial to even be worth mentioning. From beginning to end, he was calm, composed, and casual.

“I realized a long time ago that to Senior Su, we so-called ‘divine children’ are nothing but small fries unworthy of notice,” Feng Wuji said wistfully. Inwardly, he celebrated that he had never really become Su Yi’s enemy.

The other divine children slumped in despondency. Everything they’d just witnessed came as far too heavy a blow. They felt bewildered, dazed, and unsure, but they couldn’t work up even the barest hint of thirst for revenge.

The reason for this was simple. The gap between them and Su Yi was so great as to fill their hearts with despair!

“If we’d borrowed external power, we could have done the same,” Buddhist Son Lian Sheng said suddenly. “There’s no need to lose heart over this.”

The crowd was stunned.

Feng Wuji laughed coldly. “Are you saying you’re tougher than Senior Su?”

“No.” Lian Sheng shook his head. “I’m far from being a match for him. On the contrary, no matter how hard I try, I’m unlikely to ever catch up to him, but…”

Here, his gaze was calm and full of conviction. “I have my own path. I won’t compare myself to an existence of his level.”

The divine children sank into silence.

Lian Sheng had just given voice to what all of them were thinking. In the past, they could have competed with Su Yi, but now, they weren’t even remotely qualified to attempt it!

They were like lowly ants gazing up at a heavenly dragon. They were fundamentally different; why compare themselves to him?

……

An hour later, the discussion was wrapped up.

“You can leave,” said Su Yi.

He’d learned a fair bit about the Ancient God Domain.

The Ancient God Domain was a boundlessly vast plane. It bore the vestiges of numerous lost epoch civilizations. There, these lost civilizations lived on, so you could find both experts and factions of numerous lost epochs.

In the past, the Ancient God Domain had had its own rules and natural order, just like the City of the Beginning and the Deification Star Sea.

But now, the natural order of the Ancient God Domain was severely damaged, and its factions and balance of power had undergone an earth-shaking transformation as a result.

Now, the Seven Great Celestial Venerates ruled over the Ancient God Domain in its entirety. The seven of them were terrifying existences who’d been suppressed by the power of reincarnation for a long, long time. Every last one of them was comparable to a Master God.

And now, all seven of them knew that Su Yi had come here with the power of reincarnation and the Epoch Spark!

This news had long since ceased to be a secret in the Ancient God Domain. On the contrary, it had reasonably caused a massive uproar.

Qin Chongyang hadn’t been lying earlier. The Seven Great Celestial Venerates and numerous factions, both great and minor, were waiting for Su Yi to arrive. All because they knew he controlled the Epoch Spark and the power of reincarnation!

In other words, if Su Yi crossed here and arrived in the Ancient God Domain, he’d be surrounded by enemies on all sides!

Even though Su Yi was long since mentally prepared for this, learning the extent of it left him speechless, and he felt intense pressure!
