Chapter 1380 - 1380: Panicked Ravens!

Inside a secret location within the Runic Forge City’s inner region, the remaining five members of the Nightfall Ravenhood were gathered after receiving Raven’s urgent summoning, leaving their secret posts.

At this moment, the atmosphere is pretty gloomy as everyone looks at Raven, who is releasing dense killing intent.

“What happened exactly?” Ravenfang asked sternly, knowing this was not a simple matter. They had been abruptly summoned like this, and the absence of Ravenmind (Eleanor) made them uneasy.

They didn’t even consider Ravencrown because they all knew her mission was the most important, and she couldn’t leave her position.

Raveneye glanced at Raven before he replied, “A few hours ago, Ravenmind and Ravencrown sent a distress signal, and I also lost my tracking mark on them, and so did Raven!”

Ravenfang, Ravencharm, and Ravenwings were shocked by this unexpected news as they looked at Raven with disbelief.

“Did they get captured?! But how is this even possible?” Ravencharm exclaimed with a pale face. “I can still imagine Ravenmind getting captured, but Ravencrown, unless a Grand Lord took action, she can easily escape!”

At this moment, Raven finally spoke in a cold tone, “There is something I need to tell you all. The event that occurred within the Vindictive Ridged Valley was our operation! Ravencrown and I were there when it happened!”

“Wait, what?” Ravenwings was startled, and so were the others, except for Raveneye.

“Why are we only hearing this now?” Ravenfang’s voice turned cold as he looked at Raven for an explanation.

“Do I need to tell you everything I do?” Raven retorted coldly. “You should know whatever we do, we do it for the Ravenhood! This operation was very important; the fewer people know about it, the better. Furthermore, it only required Ravencrown and me, so we were going to tell you all once we succeeded.”

“Heh, then let me guess. You failed, right? It’s all over the Great Crown Domain right now. Everyone is talking about how a Half-King appeared out of nowhere and started undergoing his Heavenly Law Tribulation.” Ravencharm impassively stated, but there was a hint of disappointment present.

Raven’s eye twitched as he admitted, “Indeed, we failed in our operation in the Vindictive Ridged Valley because of that unknown variable interference. Ravencrown and I almost lost our lives because of that Heavenly Law Tribulation and barely managed to escape.

“That operation’s success was very important for this mission, but we failed, so we needed to improvise before everything fell apart. Even Ravencrown’s cover would’ve blown up in a few days since the higher-ups of the Runic King Crown Palace got involved and took this matter extremely seriously.”

“Just what did you guys do? Don’t tell me Ravenmind and Ravencrown really got captured by a Runic Marquis or Runic Duke of the Palace?” Ravenfang’s eyes were extremely sharp while his voice contained deep agitation.

Raven sighed in frustration as he decided to reveal the details. There was no point in hiding them from anyone unless he wanted to have an internal fight or lose the trust of others. This was the second time Raven had suffered a blow, and the second time was even worse than the first time!

“Before things could further escalate, Ravencrown suggested going after Zaria, the Boss of the Feline Alchemy Shop. That woman is notorious for her eccentric conduct. Yet, she has never suffered any repercussions for her actions, and even those usually overbearing clans are afraid of offending her and let her extort them.

“There’s even a rumor that once a clan fought back and wounded her terribly when she was an Ascension Grand Master and relatively unknown in the city. But the next thing that happened shocked those clans; the clan that wounded her vanished without a trace overnight, and not even a single livestock was found!

“Then all of a sudden, everyone discovered that this event was connected to that woman mysteriously, and from then on, no one dared to offend her anymore, even the city law enforcement avoided her.”

At this moment, everyone realized something, and they looked at Raven with disbelief. They all had one question for him…

“Then why did you target her?!”

Raven sighed, “Because she was our best second option. Apparently, Zaria has a little sister who is also her weak spot. As long as we can capture her, we can threaten Zaria into doing our bidding. With her in our clutches, half of our mission would’ve been completed.

“So, after confirming that she wasn’t in her shop, Ravencrown and Ravenmind made a move while Raveneye and I were on watch out. However, that woman suddenly appeared inside the shop and used the formation to take action. She struck at lightning speed and didn’t even give them a chance to react, as if she were waiting for them.

“Furthermore, that woman is rumored to be a half-grand lord. So, Raveneye and I have no choice but to abort. We thought that Ravencrown would escape by using one of her trump cards. But Zaria exceeded our expectations again, and now both Ravencrown and Ravenmind are in danger!” Raven’s voice was gloomy.

Silence reigned in the room after Raven explained what had happened. Although many details were still missing, the amount of information revealed was enough to give them all a pretty good idea of what kind of trouble they were in.

Ravenwings finally broke the silence, “So, you want us all to attack her and save Ravencrown and Ravenmind? However, going against a Half-Grand Lord would put us all in even more danger, especially now that the city was on high alert and those hidden experts are monitoring everything.”

At this moment, Raveneye spoke, “We might be able to turn the situation around. Do you remember the human boy that Ravenmind brought to us, and wanted him to join our group?”

Ravenfang nodded, “He has a sword heart, so I would never forget about him. What of him? I thought he failed.”

“He indeed failed, but the reason behind his failure was surprisingly none other than Zaria. She seemed to have taken a liking to him and captured him. That’s why we couldn’t eliminate him. But now, we might be able to use him.

“Furthermore, Ravencrown’s identity is very special. If we can use it perfectly, Zaria would have no choice but to release them. After all, Zaria is pretty notorious, so we can think of many excuses to justify Ravencrown and Ravenmind’s actions as long as they didn’t reveal who they actually are. We just need to compensate Zaria a little; she’s greedy for money.” Raveneye revealed the plan that he had already discussed with Raven before.

The other members were surprised by this unexpected revelation, and their eyes shimmered with hope.

“What do you want us to do?”

They all agreed to take the risk. After all, Ravencrown and Ravenmind were a vital part of their group, especially Ravencrown.

Even if they gave up on Ravenmind, Raven would never agree to give up on Ravencrown!
