Chapter 3028: The Beast Colony
Chapter 3028: The Beast Colony
At the northwestern section of the Black and White Continent, on this side of the mountains where trees grew aplenty, there was a small colony of beasts that lived by themselves.
They were tiny enough that on the maps of the local area, they didn’t even make a dot. With a total of 300 beasts in their group, they were nothing more than a settlement of beasts that had simply refused to leave the place.
There were no houses either, or any sort of facilities they could use to better themselves. Their cultivation bases were quite lacking as well, making them extremely weak.
Despite the Land of the Blessed Sun being a society of beasts with societal laws and rules, this far out, the only law that applied was that of the jungle.
These beasts were in danger of complete wipeout from anyone who might consider them an annoyance.
As such, the moment they were given a way out, they took it.
Bai Jingshen had found them and given them an opportunity. They were to accept a group of beasts new to this land into their society and teach them about this world. Should they do that, an Immortal would look after them for a hundred years, and even help grow their community by teaching them better ways to cultivate, make artifacts, use formations, etc.
Now, they only waited for Alex’s arrival.
Alex came to the settlement and was surprised to find it deep within the forest with not many beasts living around. Strangely, he was reminded of the Beast Paradise in the Eastern Continent back in the Lower Realm. The beasts there too lived in the same way.
Bai Jingshen stood next to him, just far enough away that the beasts below couldn’t see them just yet.
“Okay, so everything is done,” Bai Jingshen said. “Except, I don’t know how you plan on dealing with the main issue.”
Alex had a strange look on his face. Truthfully, he didn’t have any idea himself. The only thing he could think of was to force all 2,300 beasts to swear an oath to never reveal where they had come from or what they had seen in there.
Anything else wouldn’t make sense.
He wished there was a pill to specifically get rid of certain memories from the beasts, but no such pill existed. At least, not in the Immortal ranks. He would need a technique to surgically remove the memories, but that was too much to ask from the beasts.
“Maybe if I remain invisible, they can never tell anyone anything,” Alex said with a curious look.
Bai Jingshen returned a glare that told him to be realistic.
Alex sighed. “Fine! We’ll make them swear the oath,” he said. “But you do it. I will remain concealed just on the off-chance that there is someone who can steal their memories. The more careful I am, the better.”
That, Bai Jingshen agreed to.
They arrived at the settlement finally, the beasts there welcoming Bai Jingshen. Despite their small count, the beasts weren’t weak. There were quite a few beasts in the Immortal Realm themselves.
But those were older beasts who had likely lived for a long time. And they desperately needed any outside help they could get.
“Even if they fly away from here, how long would it take them to reach the closest civilization?” Alex asked.
“The nearest beast settlement from here is about five hours away even for Divine Beasts. For an Immortal, that would be at least three whole days of flying.”
“Three whole days where predators lurk in every corner, huh?” Alex said softly. “Yeah, no wonder they never left.”
Bai Jingshen moved on ahead and met with the beasts.
Alex continued watching them while completely invisible, his Yang aura burning away any unintentional spiritual sense that came his way. Not a single beast there had an idea that a human was in their presence.
Alex watched Bai Jingshen interact with the beasts and found it a little surprising when he noticed that three of the beasts there were treating him like royalty, while the others just treated him like one would an elder.
He only then realized that those three beasts were not part of the group, but rather the beasts Bai Jingshen had asked to help him.
After a brief talk, Bai Jingshen spoke out loud.
“The beasts will be here in a minute now. Clear the way.”
Alex took the cue and looked inside his Soul Space to see how the beasts had prepared. Whisker had them lined up and making preparations to leave. He was also telling them about the oath they would have to make once they left here.
Whisker had been the only beast to interact with them as the caretaker of that realm, so he was the one they were used to seeing.
Some beasts even seemed to get depressed at the thought of having to leave their home of so many hundreds of years, but since new opportunity awaited them outside, they knew they had to leave.
Right after Whisker said his goodbyes, Alex teleported all 2,300 and some beasts out into the wild. They looked around in clear confusion. Then, they saw Bai Jingshen, who immediately forced them to speak their oath.
The other beasts already present didn’t realize where these beasts had come from. The only thing they could imagine was that they had been teleported here from some other place.
And since they were immediately made to speak an oath to never reveal where they came from or what they saw there, no one else would learn much else.
Whisker sat on Alex’s shoulder, watching the beasts he had known for so long finally leaving. He had known the days had to come soon, but… he didn’t expect it to be this soon.
Alex could feel his mood resonating through the bond.
“We’re done here,” Bai Jingshen said out loud to the beasts. “These three will take care of you for now, and one of them will remain at the end. That should be enough.”
