Chapter 2901: A Mudbath
Chapter 2901: A Mudbath
Alex opened his mud-crusted eyes and stared at the jute root above him. He felt his body submerged in mud and slowly pushed himself out.
He heard several movements around him and immediately his senses spread out, spanning distances he had never before sensed.
His senses easily crossed a thousand kilometers all around him, noticing each and every macro detail about the location he had come to. He appeared to be inside of a sect, with various cities surrounding further past him.
There were a few large forests to his left, and an ocean that went on forever to his right.
“You’re hurt.”
“You need to get back in.”
A few voices spoke to him, but none sounded familiar. He unknowingly searched for a voice among them, one he had a feeling would be there, but it was not.
He turned toward the two women who had come up to him and noticed the tiny bumps on their foreheads. There were several people he had already noticed with his spiritual senses by now that had similar bumps.
’Demons,’ he thought. For a second, he worried he had somehow been sent back to Hell. But then, this world had a lot less Yang than Hell, and even had Saint Qi.
This most certainly was not Hell.
He turned toward the two women. “How did I get here?” he asked.
The place he was in was a piece of land with a hole dug into them with precise rectangular cuts, that was then filled with mud.
“Friend, you are hurt. You were unconscious coming out of our Voidgate. Please lay back in the mud bath. It will heal you.”
Alex narrowed his eyes, his senses focusing on the mud. Now that he was sensing it, it did have some healing properties to it. It didn’t take him much longer to realize that this was a hospital.
“Thank you, but that won’t be necessary,” Alex said.
He tried to get up, but the women pushed him down. “You can’t leave. You need to heal more.”
“I said I’m already—”
“You must get permission from our elder to leave,” the woman said.
Alex sighed for a moment. “Alright, go get your elders. I’ll give you 5 minutes. If no one comes, I’m leaving either way.”
These people had seemingly helped him, even though he didn’t need it, so he decided to at least show them the courtesy.
He looked around with a hint of a smile on his face. He had finally left Hell.
“Oh right, I should let them know.”
Alex quickly sent his spiritual sense into his Soul Space, searching for everyone who would be waiting. He looked in the Demon realm, and…
’Hmm? Where is everyone?’
He saw only the beasts around. Neither Pearl, the Old Man, his Master, nor the clones were around. Nor were the hundreds of people he had saved from the Void.
Thankfully, he noticed Whisker working next to the silkworm’s nest.
“Whisker, what’s happening?” Alex called out. “Where is everyone?”
“Brother!” Whisker spoke back excitedly. “Are we out?”
“Yes, we are,” he said.
“I’ll go get them,” Whisker said quickly and rushed to the Timeless Palace. Alex waited for just a few seconds and then people teleported out. It was everyone important to him, but none of them were the people he had rescued.
“Where are the others?” Alex asked. “The wounded ones. We need to help them.”
Whisker gave a weird look. “They’re in the Playground, just like you asked,” he said.
Alex sensed the Playground and found it filled with people.
“Oh!” he said in surprise. “Did you put them there? Good job.”
“I only did what you asked, brother,” Whisker said.
“I don’t remember asking you to put them there,” Alex said with a light chuckle. “Anyway, good work. I will get to healing them very soon.”
Whisker was about to say something, when Bladedance interjected.
“I’ve grown bored of staying in that room. Send me out already. I need some fresh air.”
“Oh, okay,” Alex said. “But Master, will you be alright? You might get attacked.”
“That’s fine,” Bladedance said. “Let me worry about that.”
Alex said nothing and pulled Bladedance out.
She appeared in the mud hut and looked around. A few seconds later, her eyes narrowed a little. “A Demon world, huh? At least it’s not an Immortal world, so it’s alright.”
“I thought so,” Alex said. “I knew it had to be a Demon realm.”
Bladedance nodded. She stared at the sky with a surprised grin. “Alright, it looks like I have time to prepare for my tribulations.”
“Really?” Alex asked. “Aren’t you supposed to go through tribulation every 10 thousand years? You’ve missed like 6 of them.”
“I didn’t miss them,” Bladedance said. “Remember, Hell had Heaven too, so at the very least, I did not run away. The reason I didn’t go through the tribulation has to do with Heaven itself. And Heaven is nothing if not fair.”
“I was not responsible for skipping the tribulations, so it’s giving me time to prepare,” she said. “Call out the Old Man, he should be more or less secure as well.”
Alex nodded. He pulled out the Old Man too, who looked around. His eyes went wide in surprise for a moment, having never seen or felt a place like this before.
“This is incredible,” the Old Man said. He looked up toward the sky with a wry smile. “I guess I get what you meant when you said it would feel like someone is angry at me. The Heaven really does want me to get punished.”
“You should be fine,” Bladedance said. “Just remember what I told you about.”
The Old Man nodded.
Alex hadn’t been part of that conversation, but he could easily guess what they were talking about.
“Master, there are people coming. Do you wish to meet them? If not, I will deal with them and leave.”
“Okay, you do that,” Bladedance said. “I don’t want to deal with anyone else.”
Bladedance grabbed the Old Man and the two of them left the room at a speed that no one else in this world could follow.
