Chapter 2895: A Goodbye
Chapter 2895: A Goodbye
“I am leaving soon,” Alex told the tree once he began his conversation.
“I am aware,” the tree replied. “I have been watching you all this time. I am thankful that you decided to come.”
“Of course I would,” Alex said. “I have to thank you for the fruit you provided me with. It has helped me greatly.”
“I am happy to hear that,” the tree said. “With your constitution, you should be able to consume up to two more before there is no more improvement to be had from it.”
“Two more? One can eat only three in total?” Alex asked.
“Not just anyone. Most can’t eat past just a piece of my fruit. Some can consume my entire fruit, but those are very rare. Only a handful could eat two without being unable to continue, let alone three.”
“Is that so?” Alex asked with a bit of surprise. “Then I hope you wouldn’t mind providing me with a few more fruits.”
“Of course not,” the tree said. “That is what I have been hoping to do from the start. Take away all of my ripe fruits and plant the seeds. Should I ever die, I wish to be reborn through them.”
Alex nodded. “But I doubt you will die,” he said. “Even if Hell fails to hold up, you should be able to survive by yourself, right?”
“In the vastness of space, with no Yin to absorb? I fear I cannot,” the tree said. “And it is not my inability to hold onto Hell forever that I worry about. It is also the fact that outsiders may soon realize what is going on here. My sister died, so can I.”
Alex fell quiet for a moment. “I wish I could take you away,” he said. “I would put you in my Soul Space and let you live in another world where Heaven still exists. The Ever Dark realm would be perfect for you, considering it is filled with Yin aura and nothing more.”
“I cannot leave, for Hell relies upon me,” the tree said. “But I thank you for your consideration.”
Alex fell silent for a bit. “If only I could take away Hell itself,” he said. “But that is a task far too impossible for me to even consider.”
He wasn’t exactly sure how large Hell was, but he knew it was easily larger than the 3rd Major Spirit realm. His own Soul Space wasn’t all that big, so he wouldn’t be able to fit Hell in there.
Not to mention the fact that he didn’t even know how he could possibly do it. To take in these lands, he would have to fill it all with his spiritual sense and then pull it in.
Even a Celestial couldn’t do it. Maybe not even a Primordial.
Even if he were to decide to ignore Hell itself, and save just the ones living in here along with the tree, the amount of spiritual burden placed on him would be so great that his mind would likely break at the first moment of completion.
And considering how difficult it was for him to die, he would likely suffer the fate for all of eternity, until he was killed in both body and soul at the same time.
“So long as you sow these seeds in all the different locations you go to where they may grow, I will be satisfied,” the tree said.
Alex could at last only accept those words. There was nothing else he could do to help the tree with its current situation.
“Since you will be leaving soon, may I request something else as well?” the tree asked.
“Sure, go ahead. If it is within my capacity to help you, I will.”
“Would you mind bringing Mother over next time?” the tree asked. “You mentioned meeting her before, so I am sure you shall meet again no doubt. When you do, please bring her here.”
Alex paused for a moment, images of Shumi flashing through his mind. “I will try. I cannot promise any more than that at the moment,” he said. “But I will definitely try.”
“That is all I ask of you anyway,” the tree said. “Give my warm regards to my sisters if you can. One likely won’t reach maturity for so many more years, but the other one is out there, hidden away. Surely you’ll find her someday.”
“Do you know where she is exactly?” Alex asked.
“The Soul Mother tree was made to protect the most important location in all of the land. I do not know where that location is anymore, only that it is in a realm hidden away from everyone. I’m sure you can find it if you search for it.”
Alex thought for a moment. Since the three trees were the Demonic Plants, it was very likely the hidden realm was in the Demon’s Immortal realms as well. He had very little knowledge of those places, so it would take some time before he found anything about it.
“I will do my best.”
Alex let go of the tree and prepared to leave. Their trip here had been short, but that was always the plan. Fruits fell from the sky, landing gently before them.
Alex’s eyes widened in excitement. He had been expecting a few fruits, but the amount here was quite large.
“There’s nearly 21 ripe fruits here,” Alex thought. “Two for myself. Who should the rest of the 19 go to?”
His friends and family, no doubt. He would have to divide them carefully when he had the time.
He thanked the tree profusely, and so did Whisker and Pearl.
As they prepared to leave, Alex brought out a parting gift. He pulled out the Blood God’s Manual, and pulled out a blood core that glowed with red and yellow light.
“You two have eyes and ears on the outside, but no hands. I will leave one of these with you to help you,” Alex said. “I am sure this will be a great help to the both of you in the coming years.”
