Chapter 2891: Inside the Soul Space
Chapter 2891: Inside the Soul Space
Pearl spent some time on the outside, going around the place to see everything. However, the desolate landscape of Hell wasn’t a place he wanted to be in forever. So, he decided to return to Alex’s Soul Space. At least there, he could cultivate again.
The older Alex and Emily had decided to do just that long ago.
He arrived at the room where Alex trained and waited in the corner. Alex was fully focused on the pendulum in front of him, so he didn’t want to distract him right away.
As he waited, someone else arrived at the room.
The old man who was the Grand Elder of the sect walked in with Whisker standing on his shoulders.
Pearl quickly bowed toward the old man. Pearl hadn’t spent enough time with the man, but he knew enough to be respectful.
“Is he cultivating?” the old man asked.
“Learning a Dao,” Pearl answered.
“Why did he call me then?” the old man asked.
“He’ll be done soon,” Whisker answered. The three sat down quietly and waited.
A few minutes later, Bladedance arrived as well. She walked in, her eyes surveying the surroundings. She crossed her arms and remained standing with a cool attitude.
Pearl still couldn’t believe that there was a Celestial among them. And even more, she was Alex’s master.
He remembered Grimsight talking about his own cultivation base a few times when he taught the spear. He talked about how close he was to the Celestial realm without being in the Celestial realm.
He always talked about the gap between the realms and how it mattered, but never fully explained what he meant by those.
Pearl wondered if it had something to do with this Axiom thing his brother kept talking about from time to time.
“I’m sorry,” Alex spoke up after a while, turning toward the group. “I must’ve kept you two waiting.”
“Not at all,” the old man said. “We only just arrived.”
“Was there a reason why you called me?” Bladedance asked. “Did you learn a Dao?”
Alex smiled. “I have no way of telling, Master. I can only keep working at it and hope I’m not wasting any time.”
“Then?”
“I wanted you two to see my Soul Space,” Alex said. “You might have to stay in there when we leave, so I need to make sure I can accept you two. Especially you, Master. I don’t know what a Celestial realm cultivator will do to me if they were to enter my Soul Space without warning.”
“Oh!” Bladedance said in surprise. “You want me to enter?”
“Yes. You wanted to see certain things, did you not?” Alex asked.
“That I did,” she said, stepping forward. “Any warnings for me?”
“Yes. Just… try not to use your Spiritual sense. I can’t handle it, I think,” he said.
Bladedance’s Divine sense passed through Alex’s body. “Your Spiritual sense is strong enough to form Divine sense by now. I think you’ll be fine.”
Alex raised an eyebrow.
“Still, a Divinity would die too if I placed my full Divine sense on them. I shall be careful.”
Alex nodded. He called everyone close to him and pulled them into his Soul Space.
Bladedance was surprised to see not just a land as Alex had explained would be there, but also light. Bright light, like the sun.
She turned around, confused and curious. She looked to her side and saw what looked like a massive pillar, jutting out of the ground. Beyond it, she saw the sun.
Bladedance did not understand what was happening, except that she was in her disciple’s Soul Space. She knew it was massive, but seeing a world here—despite knowing there was one—was still surprising.
She squinted her eyes, looking at the sun. She desperately wanted to use her Divine sense, but her eyes would have to do for now.
“Is that…” Her eyes widened as she realized what she was looking at. “Isn’t that the Nine Yang Court’s god?”
“You are aware of it, Master?” Alex asked. “That’s the Nine Yang Divine Tree.”
Bladedance felt her breathing grow ragged. “Why… why do you have it?” she asked.
“It fell to my world, along with all the other things I told you about,” Alex said. “Look behind you, Master. You’ll find what you’re searching for.”
Bladedance turned, unsure why she was even turning from this great tree. When she did, she found herself staring at the massive tree that dwarfed even the mountain it stood past.
The massive tree was similar to what she had seen long ago, just less mature.
“That’s… the World Tree,” she said softly. Seeing it herself was the greatest confirmation she could receive. She turned around to the Nine Yang Divine Tree and then toward the World Tree.
She couldn’t imagine Alex had two of such trees. One that was the god to a certain group of bald-headed humans, and the other a god to almost all of the demons. She still remembered how the demons threw themselves to their attacks, body and soul, to stop the humans from getting to the World Tree.
They had cut down the tree that day—perhaps their greatest sin—and yet it had regrown here, in a world where no one would find it.
She only now realized how true Alex’s words were. If he had left with the other man and was captured somehow, those people would’ve found both of these trees. At that point, war would’ve been a done deal.
She began walking toward the World Tree, trying to study it even further.
“Don’t get too close, Master,” Alex quickly said. “The tree is still growing and will eat anything that gets too close. You will be in danger.”
Bladedance nodded and walked over to the peak of the fourth mountain, looking at the growing World Tree. She had a feeling of awe looking at this tree that she had only felt when looking at the tree at the center of Hell.
She took a deep breath and felt the Qi flowing out of the tree. It was properly growing.
