Chapter 2750: Domain
Chapter 2750: Domain
Emery’s sudden attack tore through the underground hall like a raging tempest. His surge of cosmic power obliterated a third of the brotherhood magus in an instant.
But the survivors rallied fast. From the dark tunnels beyond, more cloaked figures poured in, their auras flaring in a haze of mixed energies. Soon, over forty Brotherhood magus surrounded him—half-moons and full-moons alike, the so-called elites of the infamous Midnight Brotherhood.
“You’re dead!” roared Maldrin, their leader. “Don’t even think of leaving this place alive!”
The man’s two cosmos domains unfurled at once. A torrent of blood mist erupted from his body. Two curved horns sprouted from his forehead, his skin hardening and turning a dark crimson hue. The transformation made him look less human, more like the demonic entity he was rumored to be—the Midnight Demon himself.
Unlike the two brothers Emery had crushed earlier—one-cosmos grand magus with weak mental defenses—Maldrin was a true monster. A peak two-cosmos expert, one step away from breaking into the third.cosmos powerhouse. His strength was infamous even among the underworld elites.
Emery didn’t flinch. His expression remained calm, cold. At his current level, only a Supreme Being could pose a true threat to him. Anyone below that level—even if he met a powerful three cosmos that was beyond his ability to defeat, he was confident he could still escape from them.
His main concern lay elsewhere: the battle could bring more harm to the captives nearby, and above them was an entire city he had to consider.
He began to calculate carefully how to deal with these criminals.
Maldrin crouched low, muscles rippling, ready to lunge. The other magus began forming runic arrays in unison, spells igniting like stars. But before the clash began, the masked grand magus who had been standing beside Maldrin suddenly took a step back.
“I am not part of the brotherhood,” the man said flatly, voice distorted by the mask. “I’ll take my leave.”
“What?!” Maldrin’s face twisted in disbelief. “Why!!! He’s surrounded! Help me hold him down!—when my brothers return, he won’t stand a chance!”
The outburst confirmed Emery’s suspicions. Something about the masked man didn’t fit. He wasn’t one of them. Yet the Brotherhood leader had treated him with a strange kind of caution.
Who is he really?
The answer, he decided, he would tear from the man himself.
Without hesitation, he released his true power.
A pulse of Khaos energy erupted from Emery’s body, spreading outward like a shockwave. Darkness bled into every corner of the chamber, swallowing torches and runes alike. The air grew thick, heavy—pressing against every chest until breathing became agony.
Maldrin’s expression hardened as realization struck.
“So you’ve been hiding your realm all along!”
This was in fact Emery’s Battlefield Domain, the innate manifestation of his two cosmos realm. The space itself bent to his will the crushing weight of it hit every magus present like an ocean of lead.
All thirty were instantly forced to their knees. The weaker ones gasped for air; the stronger full-moons barely managed to stand, their domains flickering like dying embers.
They tried to retreat—only to slam against an invisible barrier.
“What is this?!” one shouted. Another’s spell fizzled uselessly against the shimmering spatial wall.
The masked grand magus’s tone turned grim.
“This isn’t a normal domain… He’s a spatial expert! You can’t contain him!”
Realizing the danger, the masked man summoned his own power, cosmic energy warping around his body as he tried to break away away
But Emery’s voice cut through the chaos like thunder.
“No one is leaving!”
A shadow loomed on the masked man path. It was Livi, the baphomet, holding the wounded succubus Nyx in her arms. Her eyes glowed crimson as she whispered a dark incantation. From beyond her sleeve burst a swarm of shadow flame bees, their burning wings forming a living wall of black fire.
The masked grand magus recoiled, his escape blocked.
By this time, Emery had fully seized control of the battlefield domain. The dark energy pulsed through the chamber like a living storm, and with immense effort, he managed to split the area in two—isolating the Brotherhood magus from the cells that contain the terrified prisoners.
Seeing the situation turn against them, the masked man shouted anxiously, “Maldrin! Do something!”
The Midnight Demon turned toward Emery, a wicked grin spreading beneath his bloodstained visage. “You’ve shown your weakness,” he sneered. “Such effort to protect those prisoners! Don’t bother trying anymore.”
As his words fell, blood mist erupted from his body like a crimson tempest. His aura thickened, and the scent of iron and decay filled the chamber. Then—BOOM!—Maldrin unleashed his own battlefield domain.
The collision of two cosmos-born domains tore through the underground hall, shattering the stone floor and shaking the very foundation above. The shockwave rolled outward, throwing dust and debris into the air. Prisoners screamed as the ground split, chains rattling violently against the walls.
Yet, amid the chaos, Emery remained calm. His eyes glowed with eerie light as he lifted both hands. “Come!” he commanded.
The floor trembled again and from the shadow emerged an army of creatures sculpted from rock—his golem allies.
“Kuang! Kuang!” echoed their heavy steps.
Thirty of the strongest Chizpurz spread out, their bodies brimming with earthen energy. The five brothers—Chika, Chiki, Chiku, Chike, and Chiko—took command, manipulating the earth laws to stabilize the collapsing terrain. With seamless coordination, they raised barriers to block falling debris and while attempt to broke open the prisoners’ cells one after another, freeing the captives trapped in panic and despair.
Maldrin watched, his blood-mist body writhing with fury. “URRGHH! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!”
Emery hovered closer, his gaze shifted toward the masked figure. “Your friend seems to know my abilities rather well,” he said coldly. “Perhaps he can tell you who I am.”
Before either could respond, Emery’s hand swept through the air casting his tier 8 spells [Twilight Vines]. They emerge form shadow and twisted through the hall like serpents, striking with unrelenting speed and force.
Maldrin reacted instantly, crossing his arms and summoning dense layers of blood mist to shield himself. The impact cracked through his barrier, though he held firm.
The masked man, however, was far less fortunate. He dodged frantically, rolling through brief flashes of light, but the vines moved faster. One caught him mid-step, lashing across his face—
CRACK! His mask shattered into fragments that scattered across the floor.
The man froze. Panic spread across his newly exposed face.
He knew there was no longer any point in hiding.
Emery narrowed his eyes, disappointment flickering through them. He had expected to recognize this man—but the face meant nothing to him. Until a mechanical voice, VIA echoed in his mind.
[Identity Confirmed: Barnet of the Korr Faction]
The name meant nothing to Emery at first, but the next line of data from VIA made his breath still.
[Last known position: Magus Academy Instructor]
Emery’s heart hardened. Disgust coiled in his chest, twisting tighter with every passing second. His gaze sharpened, cold and cutting like a blade.
“You…” he said slowly, his voice dripping with venom. “You have a lot of explaining to do.”
