Demonic Pornstar System

Chapter 621: Updates

Chapter 621: Updates

Kaiden let the moment linger a second longer, then drew the interface fully into focus.

The world didn’t vanish. It never did anymore. It simply slid back, becoming background noise as the familiar system frame unfolded cleanly in his mind, sharp and readable, numbers locking into place with quiet finality.

Kaiden stared at the experience requirement for a long time.

"... Fifty million," he muttered, the number sitting heavy in his chest. "That’s just cruel."

His fingers were already at Luna’s cheeks, thumbs pressing in from either side, squishing her face into a pout she didn’t even try to stop. She shot him an offended look that immediately lost all bite when her cheeks stayed trapped.

"Hey! My face is not for stress relief!" she protested with words that were slightly mangled. "And, yeah! Totally unfair! We’re getting nerfed for no reason!" Her lips trembled once in indignation as she puffed her cheeks harder, eyes narrowing.

Kaiden’s mouth curved upward as he pinched a little more, enjoying the way her expressions shifted under his fingers. She scoffed, clearly affronted, but didn’t pull away. She was too tired to fight him after a full day of monster hunting and far too happy with where she was right now to even consider moving.

Nyx’s hands never stopped their steady work on his shoulders as she spoke. "Gremlin Bestie, you say that as if it were only us who were affected. All awakened hit these thresholds once they pass the needed level. It’s a known wall."

Her fingers pressed a little deeper, easing the muscle that had been abused all day. "I’ve heard level one hundred raises the requirements again, and into a truly unfair territory at that." A pause came before she added, "Though I don’t know the exact numbers."

Aria lifted the cup again before he could reply, blowing softly over the surface, eyes gentle as she brought it back to his lips. "Drink again, Kai. You deserve it..." she said lovingly.

Kaiden did, feeling warmth spread through him as he swallowed, then immediately returned his attention to Luna, pinching her cheeks again until she let out a drawn-out, annoyed whine.

"Hey! Stop that, or I’ll beat you to a pulp!" she complained, even as she leaned into him instead of away, eyes half-lidded with exhaustion and contentment. "You’re abusing your privileges a bit too much these days. I’ll organize a girlfriend union and bring about the end of your abusive tyranny."

He chuckled and only increased the intensity of his actions, making Luna’s delicate face into numerous funny expressions. "It’s the same pattern as before," he murmured while watching her affronted eyes, staring into them without a single ounce of apology. "After level twenty-five, experience requirements jumped tenfold. After fifty..." He glanced back at the number. "Hundredfold."

The realization settled fully this time.

"This is where leveling stops being something we can casually do by killing a single horde of strong monsters," Kaiden continued. "From here on out, every single level is going to be a real grind."

Kaiden let the thought settle, then flicked his focus sideways, pulling up the next pane of the interface.

A translucent panel slid into place, numbers updating with a soft chime.

[Income: 80,000 ➝ 102,500]

[Fangirls: 45,000 ➝ 61,800]

Kaiden blinked once.

Then he let out a slow breath through his nose and grinned.

So that was how it was.

He hadn’t paid much attention to the content creation side of things lately, not with the competition, the grinding, the constant pressure of survival, and the looming bottleneck. But the system didn’t forget.

Their backlog of recorded videos had been rolling nonstop while they were busy tearing through monsters.

And popularity, once it started compounding, didn’t slow down.

Twenty percent would’ve been conservative. This was closer to thirty, in a week’s worth of time.

"...Hah," Kaiden muttered softly. ’Even when we’re not trying, it keeps snowballing.’

He felt Aria shift immediately, sensing the change in his mood. She leaned closer without needing to be prompted, pressing into his side with a pleased little sound rumbling in her chest as if she could feel the numbers too.

That, unfortunately, gave him leverage.

Kaiden’s grin turned sharp as he pulled Aria snug against him with one arm and, without mercy, pinched Luna’s cheeks harder with the other.

Luna sputtered. "H–HEY! That’s it! This is domestic abuse now! I’ll tell your mother! I’ll file a report with—mmph!"

"Streams are peaking," Kaiden said lightly, thumbs pressing in as Luna’s face deformed into an outraged pout. "Higher than ever. And this is only the beginning. From here on out, growth’s going to accelerate so long as we manage to keep our popularity up."

Aria purred outright, eyes half-lidded as she nuzzled into his chest, clearly enjoying both the mood and the attention.

Luna, meanwhile, flailed uselessly. "Unhand me, rude bastard!"

Kaiden laughed and finally eased his grip, switching to a gentle massage instead, thumbs smoothing over her cheeks in slow circles. "Alright, alright. Sorry. Got carried away after seeing the numbers."

Luna crossed her arms sharply and turned her head away with a dramatic huff. "You’re a barbarian. You should control your emotions better."

"I’ll work on it," Kaiden said, smiling.

He lifted his hand from her face before she could retort and willed the wrist artifact bound there to show him what he wanted to see next. Light unfolded into a floating holographic display, crisp and official.

Kaiden studied the rankings in silence for a few seconds, letting the numbers sink in. The hologram hovered steadily, making the light reflect faintly across their faces.

Aria was the first to speak. She tilted her head, eyes tracing the list from top to bottom. "We fell by two ranks, becoming the last place among those still fighting in the competition," she noted calmly. There was no panic in her voice, just observation. "Runewoven dropping makes sense, though. Missing a full day hurts, considering we’re only ten days in."

Nyx hummed softly behind Kaiden with her hands tightening around his shoulders as if to ground the thought. "Yes, we held on surprisingly well despite that," she added, fingers kneading slow, practiced circles. "Vaelira must have worked herself to the bone. The others too."

Her grip tightened just a little more with a quiet question hidden in the pressure. "Kai... is she...?"

"She’ll be fine," Kaiden said without hesitation and with eyes that never left the standings. "Might need a few days to recover, though."

"Hehe~" Luna giggled, clearly enjoying his tone more than the words themselves.

Nyx smiled faintly at that and resumed her steady rhythm, leaning forward to see the hologram, which consequently meant her two large melons were resting squarely on top of Kaiden’s scalp.

No protests were offered.

"Wow," she murmured. "Ashbound is climbing fast. They’re really putting in the work."
