Death... and me

Chapter 4046: Regret

Chapter 4046: Regret

So, as far as they were concerned, they would find out if Hick is lying once they reach the Celestial Realm. However, there was the question of helping him now or not.

But before that, the twins’ group had other questions. "How did you know we would be here?"

"It wasn’t that hard, actually. I know how the Destiny Attraction Works. Soul Gem told me about it. Since I knew where to find Havira, and I knew you would be related to her because of me back then, I just had to come and join her," Hick explained. "You would sooner or later come to see Havira, no doubt. Her arrival in the A1 Universe coincided with the time you got Xyrath free, so the rest was just about a game of waiting. I was pretty lucky, actually. I came to see her just a few days ago, and you already got here. I truly love this Destiny Attraction thing."

The twins, however, definitely hated it even more now. It wasn’t possible to control it, and you couldn’t tell if what happened to you was due to this system’s ability or not.

"Alright, what about the Vial with a God Realm Expert’s Blood. That blood is from your original body, right? Does that mean you were a God Realm Expert before, or was Havira wrong?"

"Oh! She was not wrong." Hick didn’t hide this part. "In fact, I was beyond that level. I genuinely wish I had not gotten involved with the Werdlem Empire back then. Tell you what, if you meet Default, ask him about it."

Laiana intervened. -Could it be that Default also hasn’t told you anything yet?-

"You guessed!" and Hick confirmed.

When the twins’ group spoke with Xyrath and Laiana, the two said they were only following orders when they messed with the Werdlem Empire. They didn’t know why they were supposed to do it. Not only that, it was not Default who ordered them. Default was just the guy who passed forward the orders he himself received. Unfortunately, Laiana and Xyrath couldn’t disclose more than that.

"Master’s mouth is completely sealed," Hick continued. "And trust me, I bothered him so much that he would have given me a beating if he weren’t imprisoned as well. Master never talks about it. Even we, Primordial Beasts, don’t understand very well how those orders are received. We just know that once Default passes them over, we must comply, no questions asked."

Roan nodded. Hick’s words just confirmed what they had heard so far. Still, something Hick said was weird. "You told us to ask him about it if we meet him. Are you saying he would tell us what he couldn’t tell you? Why?"

"I didn’t say he would tell you," Hick corrected. "I said you should ask him. Whether he will tell you about it or not, that’s up to him. I’m also curious, you know?"

"Whatever..." Roan didn’t insist there. "So, what kind of Primordial Beast are you? Also, are Hyeoumu and Soul Gem Primordial Beasts too?"

"Only Hyeoumu and I," Hick started.

Turns out the twins were right about Hyeoumu being a Primordial Beast. Hick explained Hyeoumu was what they call an Axiom Tortoise, one of the Twelve Imprisoned Primordial Beasts.

However, Hyeoumu wasn’t imprisoned, right? Well, his situation was the same as Hick’s. Hyeoumu’s body wasn’t his real one. He also left his real body in the Werdlem Empire. As for his ability, it was all about the gravity of all matter, another pillar of the world. You could say Hyeoumu was the reason for the laws of gravity to exist.

There was a difference between Hick and Hyeoumu, though. Hick lost his body when he helped Soul Gem and Hyeoumu escape. He didn’t want that to happen, but it did. In Hyeoumu’s case, he left his body back here on purpose. Only Hyeoumu’s Soul left the Bubble.

Soul Gem was different. He was not a Primordial Beast, but was still Default’s disciple, the very first one. He lost most of his power when he left the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble and ended up in the Turmaloid Universe, but eventually managed to get to the Lisan Universe, where this so-called plan would be put into motion.

"That’s basically it. You don’t need to find Hyeoumu’s body for now, though. Once the time is right, Hyeoumu will let you know to free his real body. He is the only one who knows where it is anyway." Finally, Hick finished his explanation.

"Alright, I have another question," Kentucky jumped in. "Havira told us this Vial of God Expert’s Blood could help us reach the Celestial Realm. Is that correct?"

Havira nodded on the side. "That’s what I heard."

"Well, it is true," and Hick confirmed. "That blood of mine was from before I was imprisoned. It still holds a little bit of my God Realm powers. If you consume it while you try to make contact with the Celestial Plane, you should be able to feel the Celestial Plane much more easily. In the Great Void, this is definitely a treasure, so use it well."

"So you won’t take it back, uh?" Rean was already expecting Hick to ask for the vial, but it seemed like he was wrong.

"It’s just a few drops, so why should I care? If anything, I can use it to find you guys in the future." Hick didn’t mind at all. But then, he had an idea. "No, wait! You intend to use it for your Celestial Realm breakthrough, right?"

Rean answered it for his group. "At first, that was the idea. But after everything we went through, we found out we won’t need it. We should be fine as long as we can get close to one of the Great Void Blackholes."

"Good!" Hick was happy to hear that. "The few drops in the vial are far from enough for the four of you anyway. Instead, there is a better way of using them. As I said, it still holds a little bit of my power from when I was a God Realm Expert. As long as we get my body back, I should be able to use these drops to open a breach to the Celestial Plane. You could use it to connect to the Celestial Laws and have your Celestial Realm Breakthroughs. I can even keep it open for way longer than any breach created by the Great Void Blackholes."

That looked pretty good. "Finally, you said something that could be of use to us. Let’s get straight into it, then. What kind of Primordial Beast are you, and where is your body?"

"As Laiana commented, I’m a Terminarch, also known as the Boundary Primordial Beast. As for my body, you can find it in the C44 Universe."

*Pin!*

[The Terminarch controls boundaries, the limits of everything, or at least it did in the beginning. As a result of helping Hyeoumu and Soul Gem, the Terminarch lost its body while breaking free of the boundaries of the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble. With that, it also lost most of its power.]

[Quest Update: Help the Terminarch set its body free in C44.]

[Reward: 34000 Celestial Points.]

Immediately, the twins narrowed their eyes. That was by far the highest reward they saw until now. And that probably meant recovering that body would be anything but easy.

Roan couldn’t help but sigh. "I’m starting to regret this..."
