Death... and me

Chapter 3992: A Little Longer

Chapter 3992: A Little Longer

*Zush!*

Kentucky appeared once again, where Rean and Foliana were staying. "Hey there! Miss me?"

Rean laughed. "Hahaha! Sure, for a few minutes."

Foliana was still curious. "So, how was it? Did you manage to save the Qufis Alliance guys?"

"Yeap!" Kentucky nodded. "Let’s just try to avoid them from now on so they don’t find out I’m actually not inside Celis’s Pocket Dimensional Realm."

"Well, there comes another one," Rean pointed out, a Time Plate drifting in their direction.

He moved in front of it, opening a Spatial Gate and allowing the Plate to drift inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. ’Sister Orb, how’s your work?’

[It’s getting better,] Sister Orb answered. [The spread of Soul Energy between the plates is getting easier to identify. I can’t point out which direction the Chronoblade Serpent’s Soul is yet, though.]

Foliana pointed something out. "We are far, far from getting all of them. I believe we haven’t acquired even a thousandth of all plates available."

[Yes, that’s true. But, at the same time, I have more samples inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. The more I get, the easier it is for me to read into their patterns.]

Rean was obviously happy to hear that. "Great! Perhaps it won’t be long until we get enough of them. Who knows? Maybe we will find the right Time Plate where the Chronoblade Serpent’s Soul is located... considering his soul is indeed inside one of the plates."

The job continued, and they kept themselves busy. Rean asked Roan’s group if they wanted to swap at some point, but Roan, Celis, and Tanxan were happy to stay in a single place. Rean, Foliana, and Kentucky obviously preferred to be on the move, so that division of duty was perfect for both sides.

---

Time passed, and soon, fourteen years went by. Back on Roan’s side, their group received a few more visitors. Yet, because of Roan’s group, they managed to defend without losing much. Even better, with enough time, the Formations Masters managed to improve the protection formation in that area, making it quite difficult for anyone to take Qufis down without paying a price.

Celis was also loving that time, as he kept using the many Divine Stones earned outside to create even more Starlight Energy before absorbing it all. Roan also helped him, the two standing still most of the time and cultivating. Kentucky and Rean were working on the Time Plates, so they weren’t cultivating. Still, since Celis alone was as good as all three of them, or maybe even better, Rean and Kentucky’s absence didn’t make that big of a difference.

*Boom!*

Suddenly, a burst of energy spread throughout the surroundings, drawing everyone’s attention inside the protection formation. When they looked over, they noticed that both Celis and Roan... or Juvenal and Zende... had a breakthrough at the same time. They reached the Late Stage of the Space-Time Realm!

There wasn’t anything strange about it. This place was made for cultivation, so it made sense they got it. There were plenty of others who already had breakthroughs.

However, everyone congratulated them. Roan’s group kept to themselves most of the time, but after helping Qufis defend against threats on so many occasions, the cultivators around warmed up to them. Well... Roan kept his cold expression, saying that none of that was necessary. Too bad no one heard and congratulated him and Celis anyway. Even Zonhime nodded slightly.

Somewhere else in the Future Realm, Kentucky and Rean obviously had the same breakthrough. They had to stop for a few minutes just to get it done. Right after, they got up and resumed their work.

---

Thirty-three years, and the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm already had a few hundred thousand Time Plates floating everywhere inside.

As expected, the disappearance of Time Plates began to affect the Future Realm. It was still not much. Some of the Divinity Realm Experts noticed their laws accelerating for a few moments before getting stable again, so it wasn’t anything that bothersome. Nonetheless, the effects intrigued them.

The other thing was the time acceleration. Those inside didn’t know, but the time was slowed down a bit, too. Now it was very close to a hundred times faster, while it was definitely quite above a hundred times before the twins started their work.

The twins, even though they didn’t need to comprehend laws anymore, could tell the difference when they perceived the laws. ’Sister Orb, it is pretty minimal, but the changes are there. If it continues like this, the Tombassin Sect might come to take a look. We don’t know whether they have a way to get inside this place, even though it isn’t open yet.’

[Is that so? Don’t worry, give me a second.]

A minute later, Sister Orb asked again. [Check it now. See if you can find any discrepancies with the laws.]

Rean and Roan nodded and spent the next few days paying attention. Surprisingly, there were no changes in the laws anymore. ’What did you do?’

[Did you forget? I can cut the plates’ connection to the outside world at any time, but I can also reconnect them if I wish. I’ve kept them separated until now to make it easier for me to analyze them, that’s all. It’s fine, though. It won’t make much of a difference now. I have a pretty good idea of how the Chronoblade Serpent’s Soul Connection with them works. I’m close, very, very close to pinpointing Xyrath’s location.]

That was definitely good news for the twins.

---

Outside the Future Realm, no more than a few months had gone by. The Celestial Realm Expert from the Tombassin Sect was still there, although he was wondering if he should leave already. The only reason he didn’t was a report from a few weeks prior.

"Any more problems?" Vuccu, the Sky-Whisper Matis, asked the workers attending to him.

A man quickly stepped forward, bowing and speaking. "Doesn’t seem to be the case, senior Vuccu. It happened for a few years inside the Future Realm, but no more than a few weeks for us here. Now, we have received reports from our experts cultivating inside that the laws are back to normal."

Vuccu pondered a bit. He was supposed to have left already. However, the laws suffering changes had never happened before in the Future Realm, so he stuck around for a little while. He came outside, looking in the direction of the Future Realm in the distance. ’Could it have been nothing?’

He then took a lace-shaped item from his Pocket Dimensional Realm. If one looked closely, one would see ripples of spatial and time power around it. Even more attention-catching was that a few similar laces, or what seemed to be illusions and mirages of one, appeared around it from time to time. ’Maybe I should stay here a little longer...’
