Death... and me

Chapter 3962: Delicate

Chapter 3962: Delicate

Ximao returned to his room, taking his CD out with an annoyed expression. "I don’t like these games, alright?!"

-Hahaha!- Rean laughed on the other side. -Oh, come on! We need a backer, you need us to continue to improve fast without suspicion, and they need to have our names in their rosters. It’s a win-win-win situation for all sides.-

Ximao didn’t seem that convinced. "Do you even intend to come back once you are done spending time in the Future Realm?"

-Errr...- Rean pondered a bit. -Maybe? We haven’t thought that far since it is still not guaranteed that we can enter that place.-

"Sigh..." Ximao decided to stop thinking about it. "Whatever. As long as you don’t forget our deal, I’m fine with it. I won’t be able to help you enter the Future Realm, though."

-Sure, no problem.- Rean didn’t mind. -Alright, I’m leaving here. The countries are all flooding my CD with messages already.-

---

Back at Rean’s residence, he came out of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, went to the front door and opened it. "Wow... that’s a lot of people."

There were at least thirty representatives from various countries in front of Rean, not counting those on the way and those who kept trying to reach him through his CD.

They all started to speak at the same time, which made it hard to tell who was saying what. "Alright, alright! Please, calm down. Come inside so we can talk."

Rean obviously wasn’t the only one. The same happened for Kentucky, Roan, and Celis. Foliana and Tanxan also had quite a few, although not as many as Rean and the others.

In the end, things played exactly as the twins’ group expected. They all joined a different country each, reaching different agreements, and leaving most of the remaining countries annoyed that they weren’t able to convince the twins.

Of course, the main requirement for their allegiance was a slot for the Future Realm Group going to the Riquicious Continent.

The Future Realm wasn’t just about cultivating faster. There were also things one could bring from there that were worth a lot, and part of those agreements included bringing back such treasures for the countries they joined.

However, the slots the twins’ group got weren’t guaranteed. Those weren’t slots to go to the Riquicious Continent, but to vie for the 20 slots available in the Space-Bending Realm range from their continent. There were many more countries in the Runia Continent than 20, after all. Not to mention, most of them could nominate more than one expert for the Space-Bending Realm group.

Thus, the slots the twins’ group acquired were so they could compete with all the other Space-Bending Realm experts attempting to go to Riquicious. Only 20 would be chosen in the end...

...well, the twins’ group simply trashed everyone when the time to fight for the twenty slots arrived... although they only took six of the twenty, so it wasn’t so bad for the others.

---

In the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, Roan had everyone gathered again. "Alright, we are now registered to go to the Riquicious Continent. However, to be more specific, we just want to use the time displacement there to pretend we spent a lot of time cultivating. That obviously won’t be the case."

"When do we depart? There is still a year before the Riquicious Empire opens the Future Realm, so we’d better leave soon," Rean said, having already checked the Future Realm information on the network.

"We will," Roan agreed with him. "So, Sister Orb, how are things on your side?"

Finally, the upgrade time of the system was over, and Sister Orb was able to talk to them.

[You had been quite busy during my absence, uh? Anyway, the upgrade worked as planned, and the system is working fine. However, we need to check whether the formations you want me to hack are at the Legendary Level. If they are, perhaps a year might not be enough for me to hack into them.]

Roan nodded. "If you are working well, then we don’t have a reason to wait. I’ll talk to Ximao and have him find a way to allow us to go to the Riquicious Empire straight away."

"Won’t you check the system changes first?" Foliana asked out of curiosity. The changes in the system didn’t mean much to her, but she was definitely interested.

Roan glanced at her for a moment, then at Sister Orb. "Might as well take a look."

Rean was just as curious. "Sure, let’s see what it added. I truly thought it wouldn’t add anything new for a while since it asked for another system last time."

[Specific Host Soul Energy Generator: 500 Celestial Points.]

"Soul Energy Generator?" The twins were puzzled, but they continued to check the other options.

[Automatic Energies Merging: 1000 Celestial Points.]

[Warning: Automatic Energies Merging Requires the Specific Host Soul Energy Generator.]

Rean and Roan looked at Sister Orb. "Is this what we are thinking it is?"

[That’s exactly what you think it is. You guys need Sky Energy to cultivate now. So, with the addition of the Starlight Energy Formation, the system now has everything it needs to automatically generate Sky Energy for the four of you to use. You won’t need to do it yourselves anymore.]

It goes without saying just how much time it would save the twins’ group. Regardless of how fast their cultivations are, they still had to go through the first phase, which was to merge their Divine Origin Energy, Starlight Energy, and Soul Power to create Sky Energy.

After buying ’Universal Cultivation Enhancement Level 5,’ they were able to merge the Three Energies into Sky Energy 25% faster. That alone already saved a lot of time. (Chapter Zero for extra information on the system’s abilities)

However, that upgrade was not intended for the fusion of energies. The creation of Sky Energy was not part of the cultivation cycle itself. The cultivation was done when they absorbed the Sky Energy into their bodies and made it their own. Obviously, that’s what increased their cultivation and allowed breakthroughs.

The fusion of Soul Energy, Divine Origin Energy, and Starlight Energy could be said to be a waste of time. Something that had to be done, but didn’t give them any benefits directly. Using the Sky Energy, which was the result of that fusion, was what truly helped them evolve.

Basically, what the system was offering was to eliminate that part of the job. The system would merge the three energies, and the twins’ group would absorb it. Finally, the ’Universal Cultivation Enhancement’ upgrade would be used as intended, solely for cultivation.

"BUY IT NOW!" Celis exclaimed in excitement.

Still, Roan was doubtful. "That is weird. We do have a source of Starlight Energy now, but what about the other two?"

[What are you talking about?] Sister Orb asked back. [Soul Energy is provided by none other than you guys. The system will use the Celestial Points so it can harvest your Soul Power without causing any drawbacks to you. That’s why the Specific Host Soul Energy Generator option appeared and costs 500 Celestial Points. It is that good, thus, expensive.]

"And Divine Origin Energy?" Rean asked about the last required one.

[Hum? Why would you worry about Divine Origin Energy? Isn’t that the one energy you could get as much as you want with Divine Stones? As long as you guys spend some time focused on earning Divine Stones, you can get as many as you need. The system obviously knows this, and so do you. Is there truly a need for some specific source of Divine Origin Energy?]

Rean scratched the back of his head, feeling a little like an idiot. "Ahem... I guess we don’t. You can leave it to me to get them in bulk."

[There is one thing, though,] Sister Orb warned them. [The Specific Host Soul Energy Generator is called like that because it needs to work with each one of you. There is no such thing as identical souls, so the same goes for Soul Energy. That said, you will need to buy it four times or no deal.]

Immediately, the cost skyrocketed to 2000 Celestial Points!

"I guess it was too good to be true," Roan said, not surprised. "How many Celestial Points do we have at the moment?"

[2784]

"Fuck!" Celis couldn’t help but curse. "We need at least 3000 if we want to buy everything necessary."

Celis grabbed the Control Orb with his roots. "Alright, you bullshit system! You’d better give us a new quest right now!"

[Hey, don’t grab me like that. I’m delicate!] Sister Orb complained.

De...licate? Everyone looked at the Control Orb. Since when is Sister Orb delicate? How come they didn’t know?

"Ahem..." Rean tried to stop the Demon Tree. "Celis, threatening the orb won’t work. It is not that simple."

*Pin!*

[New Quest Available.]

Rean’s mouth twitched. "Oh, for fuck’s sake!"
