Death... and me

Chapter 3858: Donfug’s Despair

Chapter 3858: Donfug’s Despair

One might be wondering, why go through so much trouble? There must be an easier way of doing this, right? Well, Roan didn’t just want to create a new ID; he wanted a story behind it. If they were investigated in the future, they would reach this place and find out that the twins’ group was taken from a destroyed tribe. There would be nothing else after that.

---

As mentioned before, Enrel City was neither big nor small. It was a pretty average city in the Divine Realm of the A1 Universe. Still, it housed several hundred million inhabitants.

The lord of the city was a Space-Bending Realm Expert named Gluan, and the main clans, sects, organizations, and the like around had leaders at the same level or slightly weaker. That was perfect for the twins, as the only ones that could possibly notice their pretense were likely Divinity Realm experts or higher.

It’s not that you wouldn’t find a Divinity Realm in this part of the Divine Realm. After all, with how great the cultivation conditions were in A1, Divinity Realm Experts were a lot more common. It’s just that this truly is a rather desolate and faraway zone of the Divine Realm, so the Divinity Realm Experts here were quite hard to find.

Donfug’s entourage arrived in the city, and after paying the fee, they entered and proceeded to the east side, where the city’s slave trading market was located. Even if Donfug had no intention of letting the twins’ group go, he also bought many others on his way here, not just in the Wengel Tribe. He would put them all for sale there.

A few hours later, the twins’ group arrived at Donfug’s store, which was quite large, featuring hundreds of different cage displays and various slaves from diverse races. He actually treated his slaves pretty well. Aside from being confined, they were kept clean and well-fed. There was even a doctor who came to check on them once a week to ensure the slaves were in top condition.

Of course, it didn’t mean Donfug was a nice guy, but that he thought the best way to sell things was to provide high-quality products. He still saw them all as objects. Nonetheless, plenty of slaves in the slave market district would love to be his property at the moment, considering the treatment he offered.

After giving the rest of the slaves to his subordinates to take care of, he intended to bring the twins’ group to their new residence. Yet, before he could do that, a small group entered his store, wearing similar clothes.

Donfug saw that and a smile immediately appeared on his face. He approached the group with enthusiasm. "Hahaha! If it isn’t our good friends of the Korko Sect?! Could it be you heard that I was back with a new batch?"

The man leading the group looked at Donfug, snorting. His name was Zenti, an elder of the Korko Sect. "Hmph! As if our Korko Sect would pay attention to such trivial things. I came here because we need a few good workers, and your presence was just a coincidence. Our sect has been expanding in this city recently, and we just acquired a new state where we intend to house a few new facilities."

The Korko Sect in this city was only a branch. The main sect was actually located in another city, called Pantulia, several million kilometers away.

Donfug didn’t mind the harsh words at all. He knew the Korko Sect wouldn’t care about the price as long as it wasn’t ridiculous. They often came to his store, mainly because of how well-kept his slaves were. "Then I must congratulate you on the success of your Korko Sect! No, just some simple words won’t be enough. How about I give you three slaves for free? Please, take a look around and select any slave of your liking. My subordinates will prepare them for you straight away."

Donfug didn’t think he was going to lose at all. By giving three free slaves, he was guaranteeing that the Korko Sect wouldn’t go somewhere else. They obviously intended to buy a big batch of slaves.

Zenti didn’t show it, but he was pleased with the treatment. "Very well. However, we need more than just three. We came today to buy thirty slaves. Do you have any with good talents? They might actually be taken as outer disciples as well."

"But of course!" Donfug immediately guided them through his stock of slaves, showing a few with Level Three, Four, and even one with a Level Five Talent. On average, those were pretty good. "These seven are the highest-talented slaves I have here, and the Level Five one is pretty much guaranteed to be of use for the Korko Sect in the future."

But then, one of Zenti’s companions talked to him. "Ze-Zenti, look at this!"

Everyone turned around, and they saw the guy checking a young girl in the back. It was Foliana, and her talent obviously showed a Level Nine.

Zenti’s eyes lit up, quickly turning back to Donfug. "I want her!"

Donfug felt like crying. How did they even notice Foliana? First of all, what was she doing there? He left her on the back with the others. But then again, she was a kid, and since he didn’t give her any orders, she probably just wandered there on her own. ’Me and my shit luck!’

Well, truth be told, they didn’t. It was Rean, once again, who used his Soul Power to ’guide’ that man.

’So you want me to go to this Korko Sect?’ Foliana asked with her Divine Sense.

Roan nodded from afar. Foliana was left alone so those Korko Sect members wouldn’t come to check on them. ’Yes. It would be way too weird if all of us started to make a name for ourselves and we were all part of Donfug’s entourage.’

Foliana wasn’t alone. On her arm was a small Demon Plant at the Stage Two Level.

That was Celis, who was asked to go with her. ’So we are separating here?’

’We aren’t really going separate ways,’ Roan added. ’The system range is an entire Light Year. I’m sending you with her in case we need to meet. You also have access to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, after all. We can talk and meet literally any time we feel like it.’

’I see...’ Celis nodded. ’Very well.’

Donfug had a hard time refusing Zenti and his Korko Sect. In the end, he could only relent and sell Foliana away. Obviously, Zenti had no interest in Celis, even if Demon Plants aren’t common. But with a bit of help from Rean’s Soul Power, he agreed to buy both together. Just like that, Foliana and Celis were transferred to the Korko Sect, and neither of them would really be treated as a worker. Instead, they would be made disciples of the main sect in Pantulia.

Well, Foliana was. Since Celis was pretending to be a Stage Two Demon Plant, he still shouldn’t have sentience, so he would be quiet for a while in there.

Donfug watched as Zenti walked away with Foliana, sighing. "Well... at least I got a very high payment from them. Fuck it! That also means I got the favor of the Korko Sect, so it isn’t too bad."

He then looked at Rean and the others, smiling. "And I have the rest of them too!"

Two weeks later, only Rean remained...

Everyone else was bought away, much to Donfug’s despair.
