Chapter 3402: Limitations
Chapter 3402: Limitations
Gram, Duleti, and Farlo immediately became silent. It wasn't like they had thought about such a thing before. But then, Farlo noticed something strange. 'How come our body was destroyed, but yours didn't?'
"How said it wasn't?" Rean asked back in response. "I truly lost my body there, you know? It's just that we have a method to grow another one."
'Then give us that method of yours!' Dulti quickly asked.
"Not gonna happen," to which Rean quickly denied. "And it is not because I don't want to, but that it only works for us. In any case, you are wasting your time. What do you intend to do? If you want, I can take your souls out, and they will eventually migrate to the underworld to reenter the reincarnation path... or whatever happens there."
'I will stay as a puppet,' Gram was the first one to respond. 'So what if I'm a puppet? At least I'm still myself. If I decide to let go, then I'll be gone forever. I can't accept that.'
Duleti followed him. 'The same goes for me. And... thank you for saving us back there. Indeed, had you not taken the same Warm Boat, we would have been dead way before our bodies were destroyed.'
Farlo still didn't like it, but he was of the same mind. 'Better a puppet than dead. By the way, Marvin, do you have better Puppet Bodies?'
"No," Rean shook his head. "I can make better ones, but they would need rarer and better materials, especially materials related to the soul. Only then would I be able to build puppets that can cultivate."
'You can make puppets that can cultivate?!' Gram and the others were taken aback. They only wanted to know if he could make better puppets. They had never heard about cultivation-able puppets. 'What if we gather the materials for you? Would you be able to make them?'
Rean nodded. "Shouldn't be a problem, but I don't even know where to start. We are talking about materials that Divinity Realm experts would consider valuable, you know? I can give you the list, and you can contact me in the future if you wish. It's just that you might as well try to find some method to grow a real body instead of a puppet."
'Is there such a thing?' Farlo asked back.
"Who knows?" Rean shrugged. "But the cultivation world is limitless. There is probably something like that somewhere, right? I'm not going to look for it for you, though."
'Fine...' Farlo understood that regardless of it being a new body or a cultivation puppet, both would be nearly impossible to acquire. But then again, he is indeed extremely lucky to even be alive at the moment. 'In that case, leave me in the next city. I am more than capable enough to take care of myself.'
Duleti had her doubts. 'But... should we truly show ourselves as puppets walking around? That would attract a lot of attention.'
'Are you saying we should hide for the rest of our lives?' Gram also had his concerns.
'No... but...' Duleti just didn't have an answer for that.
'Hiding is out of the question,' Farlo spoke. 'If we don't come out, how can we arrange for better puppets to be built for us? Well, we aren't friends or anything like that. We just joined the same group so we could cultivate together in the Glacial Corridor. Once we get to the city, I'm going my own way.'
Suddenly, Rean threw three robes on the puppets with hoods. "Well, the puppet thing would indeed be annoying, so I will give you these. These robes are quite simple, but they can block Divine Senses and hide your constitutions. It should be useful to move around as puppets. That's as far as I will go for you."
Gram and the other two sighed in relief. Those robes would indeed be very convenient. 'Marvin... if we ignore these puppets that can cultivate, what kind of puppet can you make, and what would be their strength?'
Rean pondered a bit. "Hum... In the end, it is all about the materials used. The higher the level, the better the puppets are. However, they can't have a strength higher than your souls' cultivation level. So, for you guys, a puppet with a strength similar to a Space-Bending Realm expert is the limit. However, don't fool yourselves. Puppets, in the end, are just that, puppets. Unless it is some special situation, they will be weaker than experts at their level. Keep that in mind."
'Please give me your...' Then, Gram noticed something. 'Fuck! I don't have a Cultivation Stone anymore! How will we be able to control Divine Energy? First of all, how are we able to control Divine Energy at the moment?!'
Let's not forget that one needs a Werdlem Stone to be able to use cultivation energies, which is simply called cultivation stone in the Divine Snow World. Since they are just souls, there is no Werdlem Stone anymore. They shouldn't be able to control Divine Energy.
"Don't worry about that," Rean shook his head. "Look at the middle of your chests."
Only then did Gram, Duleti, and Farlo find that their puppets had cultivation stones attached to those chests. 'Are these...?'
Rean nodded. "Those are your Cultivation Stones. The Demon Beast indeed destroyed your bodies, but it can't destroy your Cultivation Stones. They are that resistant. After fooling the Demon Beast, I had someone go out and retrieve them. Well, you were quite lucky. If it had collected those stones, then you truly wouldn't have been able to control your puppets' Divine Energy."
'So that's how it is...' Gram's group was relieved. With their souls and stones, they will still be able to use the Divine Snow World Network and have access to Divine Energy... although Rean lied to them.
Retrieve the Divine Werdlem Stones? What a joke! None of the twins' group members came out of the Dimensional Realm for weeks! Rean simply used his tricks to copy their Werdlem Stones and make new ones that they could use. Rean has no idea what happened to the original stones. Were they really that resistant? Were they destroyed? Did they survive? Who knows? He will never tell them that, though.
