Chapter 3399: I Couldn't Leave Them There
Chapter 3399: I Couldn't Leave Them There
[Well, there is one good thing about your main bodies being destroyed earlier,] Sister Orb added. [The entrances they used to connect to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm were also gone. That means the Waterdog Seal that kept itself in the gap between inside and outside is also gone. You are free to enter and leave the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm again.]
Rean and the others nodded. A moment later, Rifindio and Zangeshu also appeared, looking at the reforming bodies of the trio.
"I know you mentioned your cultivation technique's ability, but even though I'm seeing it working right now, I still find it unbelievable..." Zangeshu commented.
Rifindio couldn't agree more. "Truly marvelous... even though it does look disgusting. Are all mammals like that in the womb? So ugly... Well, Master's case is an egg, but even though it is reforming, it doesn't have a shell yet. I find it hard to decide which one looks worse."
"Why don't you go fuck yourself?" Kentucky complained. "I'm not like this because I want, alright? Just you wait a few days for my body to recover. Then I'll show you how much more disgusting I can make you look like."
Rifindio scratched the back of his head. "Did I say ugly? I meant incredible! Yes, definitely. Master is the most beautiful Minokawa in existence, even while reforming his body." After living with Rean, Kentucky, and Sister Orb for so long, Rifindio started to learn how to have absolutely no shame whatsoever.
Kentucky couldn't help but get a little bit emotional. "They grow so fast..."
Roan was already losing his patience, though. "Enough bullshit. If you don't have anything useful to say, don't waste my time anymore. We need to recover our bodies; that's just it."
That reminded Zangeshu of something. "Your bodies were destroyed... does that mean you lost all your cultivations again?"
[No,] Sister Orb quickly answered. [The Celestial Soul Bloodline Cultivation Technique created a completely different body for them. They don't have dantians and cores. Their bloodline themselves are what hold their cultivation energies. Their bloodlines, souls, and energy are not separate entities anymore. They are all one. That's why they can reform their bodies from a single remaining drop. Their cultivation will not suffer any setbacks.]
"Well, we will be pretty useless in the next few days, so that could be considered a minor setback for the moment," Rean commented.
Rifindio and Zangeshu understood. "So that's how it is..."
Roan's reforming body then began to move somewhere else. He could at least control the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm normally. "I'm off. I better spend my time working on that cultivation technique for the Parasol Tree Girl."
Rean quickly joined Zangeshu. "I can't work on any runes, but I can still teach. Let's go, Zangeshu. We saved quite a few of those Glacial Decay Runes."
Zangeshu nodded in approval. "That's a much better use of your downtime. Let's go."
Rifindio and Kentucky were the only ones remaining... and Sister Orb?
[Err... do you guys wanna play something?]
"Do we really have to?" Rifindio wasn't exactly a fan of such things.
"Of course!" Completely different from Kentucky. He was already feeling bored.
---
A few hours later, the exits of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm were not inside the hurricane's eye anymore. Without those Waterdog Seals for the hurricane to follow, it continued on its path to the south. As for whoever it met on the way, that was their problem.
The days passed, and Rean, Roan, and Kentucky's bodies continued to grow back. As they did, so did their cultivation. On the third day, they were already back in the Void Tempering Realm, although their bodies were still off. It wasn't before the fifth day that Rean and Roan's bodies finished reforming. A lot of resources from Roan had to be used, but it was a small price to pay to survive against a Divinity Realm expert.
Kentucky was a demon beast, and the higher his cultivation, the bigger his body. Naturally, he needed a lot more resources for his body to finish reforming. In his case, it took another eight days for him to return to his original size as a Sky Void Tempering Realm Minokawa.
Kentucky flapped his wings a little, testing his body and nodding in satisfaction. "The Great Kentucky is back to his beautiful form. I hope to never go through that experience again."
*Pin!*
As Kentucky's body finished reforming, the system spoke.
[Body Reformation finalized.]
[Ability Cooldown: 300000 hours - Earth Time.]
"Cooldown?" Rean and Roan were taken aback. They quickly gathered with Kentucky and Sister Orb, expecting an explanation. "There was no mention of a cooldown time, was there?"
[Why are you asking me? You also have access to the full contents of the Celestial Soul Bloodline Cultivation Technique. If you don't believe me, go and check it yourselves. There is nothing there mentioning this cooldown.]
Roan had already done it. That's why he asked Sister Orb. He wanted to see if she knew anything else. "Whatever... this body reformation ability is already incredible as it is. Forget about three hundred thousand hours. Even if it was three million hours, it would still be ridiculously overpowered."
Kentucky and Rean had to agree with him. "Indeed..."
"Three hundred thousand hours... Thirty-four years until we can reform our bodies again," Roan made a quick calculation. "That should be fine."
"Do we die if we lose our bodies before that?" Rean asked.
[Definitely,] Sister Orb was certain. [Since this has such a huge cooldown, that means quite some burden is applied to the system. Simply put, it can't pull this off constantly.]
"What if we preserve our blood and then have our bodies destroyed before thirty-four years?" Roan thought about it. "Once thirty-four years are gone, would we be reformed from that preserved blood?"
[No,] Sister Orb once again answered straight away. [It is not just about the blood, but blood, soul, and energy. I might be wrong since it isn't stated, but I believe the system can't keep your lives intact in that situation. Of course, if you want to give it a try, I definitely won't stop you.]
Roan shook his head. "Forget I asked anything..."
Taking his mind away from that, Roan glanced at the center of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. "So... what are you going to do with those three?"
Rean also looked in the same direction. There, three slumbering souls floated in midair. "I couldn't just leave them there, you know?"
