Chapter 1277 - 1277: Goodbye Friends (Part 2)
Those that needed to go back to Alterian were just those close to Raze. The Alter members that were still in Pagna had decided to stay, enjoying the life and family they had built up.
However, there was some disconnect with what was happening with those with Raze.
As Charlotte had decided to walk forward toward the Golden Globe, and she had done so alone.
“We talked about this, so you understand how I feel, right?” Charlotte said.
“Are you sure about this?” Raze asked. “You can always travel with us to start off on our journey; once you are where you need to be, then you can go where you want to be.”
Charlotte let out a big smile.
“We already talked about this, Raze,” Charlotte said. “I started this journey alone; Himmy was the one that saved me, and he’s gone.
“I don’t feel like I’ve really been a part of your journey, Raze. I’ve only been an observer in it all. You know how us Mages are, believing in the way certain things need to be, a natural order of things.
“I will be okay on my own. It’s Alterian; I have friends and family still there waiting for me. The path you are taking is not the same.”
Charlotte then placed her hand on the golden globe, and unlike the others before her, it activated fairly quickly, opening up a portal.
It was as if she didn’t even have to have an image in her head. It was that strong.
Before heading in, she turned around to look at Raze one more time.
“Raze, I will be watching you from wherever I am in Alterian. I will be following the news of the Dark Magus, and I will be supporting you from the shadows.
“You were able to accomplish it all here, so I believe that you will be able to do the same in Alterian. Himmy was right about you as well; you are a special person.”
Charlotte walked backward, heading into the portal, and it closed right after her.
Finally, it was time for Raze and the rest of the group. He had walked ahead, and there were Safa, Liam, Dame, and Beatrix.
Their weapons that would surely be on display had been hidden in crafted item boxes, ones that looked like they would hold musical instruments.
Unlike Pagna, the world of Alterian was not one where regular people would walk around holding weapons.
Maybe some guild members, but even that was a rarity as well.
Lastly, there was one more mage that was coming with them, Aurora, who had a large smile on her face.
“Finally, I’m heading back; I’m going back to Alterian! Thank you, Raze, thank you, and I’ll get to see my brother again.”
Raze would look after Aurora for a while, depending on where they were. Although he wasn’t too sure, he still felt like his interference in using the Astral projection technique was what might have caused the portal break to Pagna.
It was too coincidental, the timing of things. So he felt like it was his duty to bring her back to his brother.
She wouldn’t be part of the journey, but just for a short while.
‘Who knows, maybe I can use her as a bargaining chip in the future. Her brother has a high position and is already distrusting the Grand Magus,’ Raze thought.
When walking over to the golden globe, they all stood around the item. Only Raze and Aurora could use it to activate the item.
“Things will be a bit different for you, you know that?” Amir said.
“Right, because I will be taking the item?” Raze asked.
“Correct, you must be the last person to walk through the portal, and you must do so with the item,” Amir explained.
“Do you think I will easily be able to use it to come back?” Raze asked.
“That’s hard to say; it depends how easy it is for you to think of the connection of this place,” Amir explained. “Just a tip, in each world, the date of when the golden globe is active is different.
“From our records, we knew the set date, but in Alterian, it will be different. Right at the top, one golden circle will appear the day before its power can be activated. You need to look after it because I am expecting you to return it back to us where it rightfully should be.”
Raze smiled. It should be an easy job; he didn’t have to carry the item around after all. He could use his blazer to cover it up.
Slowly, Raze placed his hand on the orb; he closed his eyes for a moment. The task to activate the globe was easy.
It was just like when he used the astral projection technique, so he was quite used to it.
The portal had opened up rather quickly, and he let out a big sigh.
‘Am I nervous for some reason? It hasn’t even been that long compared to my entire lifetime… and I’m nervous to go back.’
When Raze looked up, he could see Safa turning around, looking at everyone; Liam did the same, Dame, Beatrix, and even Aurora, and they all walked through it just fine.
They were gone just like that, onto the other side.
Raze then picked up the golden orb and then turned around to look at everyone behind him again.
“Now I know why I was nervous…it’s not because I’m going back to Alterian,” Raze said, so everyone could hear. “It’s because I don’t want to leave all of you.
“All of you…have become my friends. I don’t know why it was so hard for me to say those words.
“So I will say it again to you. Goodbye, my friends,” Raze said as he walked through the portal, and it closed up, heading to Alterian.
