Chapter 1851: A Plan Takes Shape...
Staring down at the unconscious demon beast that had fainted in front of him, Xuan Hao made sure that it had indeed lost consciousness and wasn’t just pretending in an attempt to catch him off guard. Unlikely as it was considering the clearly visible injuries and missing limbs of the demon beast in question, he still had to check to make sure. After all, he had no idea what kind of means a Land Creation Realm demon beast had up its sleeve. For all he knew, it might be a demon beast that had reached the Perfection Realm in the Dao of Illusions. Capable of even fooling someone like himself into believing potentially fake injuries were real.
Poke~ Poke~ Poke~
However, after extensive tests that involved him grabbing a random nearby branch before proceeding to use his domain to lift up the branch and start poking the unconscious demon beast while at same time sending his divine sense into its body to assess its internal state, Xuan Hao was certain that the demon beast that had flopped over before losing consciousness wasn’t pretending and had truly been knocked out by the severe injuries it had suffered.
Of course, it was still possible that the Land Creation Realm demon beast had inflicted all of these injuries on itself to catch him off guard, but... The chance of that being the case was close to nonexistent, as he honestly couldn’t really see any way for the Land Creation Realm demon beast to pose a threat to him in its current state. Staying at full strength. Not to mention, he had never heard about a demon beast willingly cutting off its own limbs to pretend to be weak.
At the end of the day, there was also the simple fact that he could have just attacked it from a distance to kill it. Rendering any potential ambush or surprise attack that might have been waiting for him useless.
Shaking his head as he thought about how easy it would be for him to kill this Land Creation realm demon beast, Xuan Hao ultimately decided against it as he had already started planning on how to make proper use of this defenseless little Land Creation Realm demon beast and have it serve a far greater purpose than just ending up as cultivation resources for himself, his disciples or the sect.
The purpose in question had to do with a little quest he had found himself rather troubled about how to complete in the short term...
[Main Sect Quest: First Steps towards Becoming a Major Power (I)]
[Description: The sect has entered a state of rapid growth and is about to finally step onto the main stage of the Ewaria Continent. Help the sect reach the requirements to become a major power on the Ewaria Continent.]
[Core Formation Realm Disciples: 9274/10.000]
[Nascent Soul Realm Disciples: 41/100]
[Domain Lord Realm Disciples: 5/10]
[Soul Ascension Realm Elders: 74/100]
[Dao Seed Realm Elders: 9/10]
[Profound Immortal Realm Ancestor: 0/1]
[Reward: World Stone (Immortal), Chaotic Qi Formation Upgrade, ???]
[Note: Does not count host as part of the requirements]
And that little quest was none other than the main sect quest that could already be considered close to completed except for a certain part of the quest that had troubled him quite a bit. The requirement for a Profound Immortal Realm Ancestor.
Although he knew that it would only be a matter of time before the Star Shattering Sect produced someone at the Profound Immortal Realm, he didn’t exactly have the patience to wait for a few hundred years until someone like that emerged as he worried about the potential danger the sect might encounter in the near future.
Not from any of the churches or the different major powers scattered throughout the continent like the Blue Sea Empire that the Star Shattering Sect didn’t exactly have a friendly relationship nor even the demonic cultivators who were continuing to push deeper into the core region of the continent.
Instead, it was the powerful being that he had found sealed away by the four ancient dao seals located close to the Star Shattering Sect or directly inside the territory of the Star Shattering Sect.
Afte all, he still had no clue just how strong this being was and only knew that it was far stronger than him. Potentially even having reached a realm comparable to the Venerable Realm, something he doubted he would be able to face off against before the first of those ancient dao seals broke. Meaning that the only viable path he saw before him was to complete the main sect quest and upgrade the chaotic qi formation. Hopefully allowing it to become strong enough to resist that powerful being with him serving as the core of the formation.
He did still remember the old man from the Fallen Immortal Archipelago and how he had told him about informing his elders about the situation and how they would come to potentially help strengthen the ancient dao seals, but... As time continued to pass with no signs of these so-called elders, Xuan Hao decided against relying on these unknown figures. Instead, aiming to turn the Star Shattering Sect into a stronghold capable of enduring the potential deadly situation it would find itself in when one of those ancient dao seals broke.
And... The only thing that would be powerful enough to protect the Star Shattering Sect in case that terrifying being emerging, would be the chaotic qi formation already guarding the sect. Not the current one, but the more powerful one that would emerge after he completed the main sect quest.
After all, even if he somehow managed to become strong enough to fight back against that terrifying being, considering how close to the Star Shattering Sect it was, collateral damage would be unavoidable, and the sect needed a formation strong enough to guard it.
As for any other forces that would be nearby... He couldn’t really do much...
This was where the little unconscious demon beast flopped over on the ground in front of him came in, as he could potentially take advantage of its current injured state to tame it and recruit it into the sect as the first official ancestor figure of the Star Shattering Sect outside of himself.
In a way, this was a bit ridicules, as it would essentially have an identity similar to that of the sect master inside the sect in this situation, but... Oh well... It would help him complete the main hurdle that had been troubling him regarding the main sect quest.
As for finding a wandering cultivator in the Profound Immortal Realm? That was out of the question! Not just because of how unlikely it was for him to find someone like that, but also because a random Profound Immortal Realm cultivator would be far less trustworthy than a demon beast that should be relatively easy to tame considering its current half dead state.
The last hurdle left after this little demon beast had been recruited and turned into the first official ancestor figure of the Star Shattering Sect in the eyes of the system, would be the Nascent Soul Realm and Domain Lord Realm disciple part of the quest, something he should be able to accomplish in a few years if he set his mind to helping teach the younger disciples of the sect and provided them with an ample supply of cultivation resources.
As for the Soul Ascension Realm Elders? That was even simpler, as that part of the quest should complete itself on its own in a year or two.
The last object standing was the simplest, the requirement for another Dao Seed Realm Elder.
From what he knew, the young genius that had recently been recruited into the sect, Zhao Ling, should already be close to breakthrough to the Dao Seed Realm and might even break through to the realm before he returned to the sect.
The Core Formation Realm disciple requirement... He didn’t even bother thinking about it...
Whoosh~
Having a clear plan already in place for how to complete the main sect quest with the help of the little demon beast flopped over in front of him, Xuan Hao eagerly stepped forward and scooped up the little unconscious demon beast before making his way back towards the square where Huo Fen and Meng Jie were busy utilizing the five alchemy artifacts.
Planning to take a few spiritual herbs from the pile they had created to make a few simple healing pills for the little demon beast. After all, even if it had a powerful physique and wouldn’t end up dying from the injuries it had suffered, it would still leave behind some hidden injuries if not treated properly in time.
And considering the little demon beast would become part of the Star Shattering Sect in the future, Xuan hao didn’t intend to leave it with hidden injuries that could potentially prevent it from advancing anywhere beyond the Early Stage of the Land Creation Realm in the future.
