Chapter 174: Chapter 171: You’re a Prisoner, What Are You Acting So Tough For?

The whip was raised, but before it could fall, the door opened. Li Tong instinctively froze.

Chen Xing walked in.

Her expression was as indifferent as ever, which infuriated Li Tong.

’We’re all just prisoners here, so what’s with the high and mighty act?’

"How dare you sneak out on your own? Just watch how I’m going to deal with you today!"

Chen Xing glanced at the trembling Li Chen.

Li Chen gave her a slight shake of her head, silently warning her not to cross this Devil.

’This was our fate. Before long, we’d be fed to the monsters. She doesn’t need to get dragged into this too.’

Chen Xing nodded to her and took a few steps forward until she was just a pace away from Li Tong. "Oh, I dare to do much more than just this!"

"You’re only acting tough because my Brother Jin protects you, aren’t you? Let me tell you, without Brother Jin, you’re nothing! I could kill you in a minute, understand?"

Chen Xing looked up, her eyes dripping with contempt. "You want to kill me? You’re welcome to try."

Li Chen immediately jumped between them. "You just want to torture someone, don’t you? Then take it out on me!"

’I’ve already accepted my fate. If I’m not afraid of dying, what else is there to fear?’

Li Tong showed no mercy, grabbing a nearby iron bar and swinging it at Li Chen.

With just a light tug, Chen Xing pulled Li Chen to safety.

It was the first time Li Tong had ever missed. In this room, no one had ever dared to dodge her before.

A cold, sinister smile spread across her face. "You think you can use that pretty face of yours to make Brother Jin your backer, huh? HAHA... But what are you going to do now? My Brother Jin has already left. He won’t be back for several hours."

She had deliberately sent Brother Jin away before making her move.

She aimed the iron bar at Chen Xing’s head and swung down with vicious force, putting even more power into it than she had with Li Chen.

But the bar didn’t hit Chen Xing. It slammed into the floor, gouging a crater in the wooden boards.

As she raised the bar to aim again, she saw Chen Xing lunge at her, the tip of a knife stopping just short of her face.

In a panic, she dropped the iron bar and yanked Li Chen in front of her as a shield against the blade.

"You dare defy me! Guards! Someone, get in here!" Li Tong screamed, seizing the opportunity.

She snatched the whip and brought it lashing down toward Chen Xing.

The whip never landed. Her hand suddenly felt empty.

When she looked again, she saw that her beloved whip was in Chen Xing’s hands.

Chen Xing’s lips curled into a smirk. She glanced at the whip, raised it, and brought it cracking down on Li Tong.

The lash landed true, and Li Tong shrieked in pain.

Before she could react, a second lash struck her.

In a matter of moments, Li Tong had been struck several times.

The sound of bestial roars echoed, one after another, sounding even more pained than Li Tong’s own screams.

Just then, a dozen or so people, drawn by the shouts, all poured into the fitness room.

Li Tong took the opportunity, while her men swarmed Chen Xing, to bolt for the door and run straight toward the pigsty.

The roomful of men were all taken down by Chen Xing in the blink of an eye.

"Go! Kill that bitch Chen Xing!" Li Tong’s furious shout echoed from the courtyard.

"All of you, find a place to hide, now!" Chen Xing immediately warned the others.

’If the monster she’s unleashing is powerful, these people could easily get caught in the crossfire.’

’With them out of the way, I can fight without holding back.’

But the others were paralyzed by fear; not a single one of them left.

Thankfully, they had all huddled behind the gym equipment.

Chen Xing had no intention of going outside. Her RV was out there, and if it got damaged, she’d be the one to suffer the loss.

Just as Li Chen and the others took cover, the window of the fitness room shattered.

A creature that looked like a dinosaur landed in front of Chen Xing.

The monster wasn’t particularly large, but its foreclaws were exceptionally sharp. Its head looked just like that of a young dragon, and a long tail dragged on the floor behind it.

The instant the monster landed, Chen Xing lunged forward, aiming the tip of her knife straight for its head.

The little dino-monster was incredibly agile. With a single leap, it dodged Chen Xing’s attack and clung to the wall like a gecko.

Li Chen and the others, seeing a species they had never encountered, were all too terrified to move a muscle.

The little dino-monster scurried a few steps along the wall to steady itself, then whipped its tail toward Chen Xing.

As Chen Xing leaped into the air, she twisted her body and plunged her knife into the monster’s tail.

The monster roared, then gave a powerful tug, brutally ripping its tail free from the knife.

A dark green fluid sprayed out, splattering everywhere.

Sensing her precious little pet was injured, Li Tong gestured for it to hurry up and feed on someone.

Receiving its master’s command, the little monster immediately shifted its target to Li Chen, lunging viciously toward her hiding spot in the equipment area.

Li Chen looked up, her eyes wide as she watched the monster come right for her. Terrified, she could only shut her eyes and wait for death.

Chen Xing was a step faster than the monster. She met its charge with the point of her knife, and the creature, shrieking in pain, leaped to the ceiling.

When the expected pain didn’t come, Li Chen opened her eyes to see Chen Xing forcing the monster to flee all over the room.

At that moment, Li Tong finally ran back. Seeing her pet getting thrashed, her heart ached. She picked up the whip, used it to drag over one of her dead men, and tossed the body to the monster’s mouth.

The monster opened its maw and swallowed it in a single gulp.

Everyone: "..."

The monster wasn’t even as big as a grown man, yet it had devoured a person in an instant, leaving not even a scrap behind.

After devouring the man, the small monster changed its appearance in a matter of seconds, more than doubling in size.

Seeing the situation turn dire, Chen Xing gave up on killing the monster and hurled a throwing knife at Li Tong.

Li Tong dodged aside.

With the doorway now clear, Chen Xing yelled, "Quick, run!"

Having witnessed the monster’s terrifying power, Li Chen and the others no longer dared to stay, and they all made a break for the door.

Li Tong tried to stop them but was intercepted by Chen Xing, who successfully kept her busy long enough for everyone else to get out of the room.

The now-larger creature belatedly tried to give chase, but its increased bulk got it stuck in the doorway.

Li Tong could only give up on chasing the weaker ones and let her pet feed on the bodies of the men who were already dead.

’Even if it just finishes eating these corpses, my little pet will become too powerful for anyone to deal with.’

Like a starving tiger, the monster opened its maw and lunged toward a dead body.

But before its open mouth could touch the corpse, something round and smooth was shoved into it.

Li Tong froze, utterly stunned. Her eyes, now fixed on Chen Xing, were filled with a mixture of curiosity and fear.
