Inside the room, Chen Xing naturally recognized Situ Yuanyuan’s voice.

If she hadn’t known Meng Hu would never attack someone without reason, she might have actually believed it was bullying Situ Yuanyuan.

Meng Hu, looking utterly bewildered, let out another roar at Situ Yuanyuan.

Terrified, Situ Yuanyuan continued to shriek, "Help, help me...!"

Her shrieks were surprisingly robust, not at all like someone who was frightened to death.

"Miss Situ, it won’t hurt you!" Even the stoic Wang Wu couldn’t stand to watch anymore.

While he was a man of few words and never acted friendly toward Chen Xing, he had still been keeping an eye on the tiger.

Usually, it was as obedient as a cat, posing no threat at all.

If it hadn’t suddenly rushed out to help him fight off the men in black, he would’ve thought the big cat was just for cuddling.

But Situ Yuanyuan wouldn’t listen to him. She pressed her small frame against the wall, looking utterly pitiful. "Help... someone! There’s a killer...!"

Her relentless screams finally attracted a crowd of onlookers.

Of course, over at Commander Kelin’s place, it was as if no one was home. He hadn’t shown his face at all.

"Help me! Please, save me! A huge tiger just attacked me! Look at my arm—these scratches are all from the tiger! If you let it get away with this, one of you could be next!" Situ Yuanyuan wailed.

Chen Xing had already called Meng Hu back inside before the crowd arrived, but it wasn’t as if the tiger could leave the building anyway.

The onlookers were of different races, but they all wore translators. When they heard there was a tiger, they all turned pale with fright, and some were already about to run.

"Don’t go! Its owner already called it back inside. It won’t hurt you! But... we should work together to drive the tiger out of here before a tragedy happens! Let’s make this place safe for everyone again!" With Situ Yuanyuan’s little speech, most of the onlookers stopped thinking about leaving.

Chen Xing had to laugh.

She patted Meng Hu and had it lie down to the side.

Then, she got up and walked to the door.

Seeing Chen Xing emerge, Situ Yuanyuan dialed up her expression of sorrow and fear. "She’s the one who raised the tiger that attacked me! If it’s allowed to stay here, all of our lives will be in danger! Look at my arm... and I’m hurt under my clothes, too... boohoo..."

Chen Xing glanced at Situ Yuanyuan’s clothes. They were, indeed, torn in several places.

But the rips were suspiciously neat, and the skin visible through them was completely unscathed.

There were, however, a few scratches on her arm.

’She’d even hurt herself just to frame me and Meng Hu? Impressive.’

"We all need to stick together! If that tiger gets out of control, we’ll be in grave danger!" Situ Yuanyuan grew anxious when she saw the crowd just staring silently.

’I look this pathetic, so why aren’t they all ganging up on Chen Xing?’

Little did she know, the crowd was terrified.

Since the formidable tiger belonged to her, they were afraid she might get upset and sic it on them.

"Miss Situ, if you want to frame my tiger, you shouldn’t be so obvious!" Chen Xing pointed to the security camera in the doorway facing the hallway.

A calm glint appeared in Situ Yuanyuan’s eyes. She already knew about the camera; she’d had it disabled before she arrived.

"Why would I frame you?" Situ Yuanyuan held out her arms, showing her injuries to the crowd. "Would I really need to hurt myself just to set you up? Your tiger injured me, and I’ll stick to that story even if you check the security footage."

’Oh... so Situ Yuanyuan took care of the camera! That wasn’t surprising.’

Chen Xing’s ice-cold eyes held a trace of an inscrutable smile.

Everyone still looked at Chen Xing without speaking, but their expressions now clearly showed they believed Situ Yuanyuan.

After all, she wasn’t even afraid of the security footage. Besides, who would be crazy enough to hurt themselves just to frame someone else?

Chen Xing lifted her gaze, and Meng Hu obediently walked out.

The crowd was speechless. Seeing such a massive tiger emerge, they all scrambled backward in fear.

Now they *really* didn’t dare to point any fingers at Chen Xing.

A tiger that size could bite someone’s head off with terrifying ease.

"That’s it... That’s the one that attacked me... Boohoohoo..." Situ Yuanyuan continued her dramatic performance.

Just then, Situ Lei Hao stormed out of the elevator, his face contorted with rage. He immediately laid into Chen Xing. "How could you let your beast attack someone? You’re lucky nothing worse happened! If it killed someone, could you afford to pay for it?"

"Couldn’t you get a normal pet? Why raise a beast? If you can’t even control it, what’s the damn point? I’m telling you, this isn’t over! I don’t care if I have to offend Young Master Song!" Situ Lei Hao was relentless.

Seeing its master being insulted, Meng Hu bared its fangs and roared at Situ Lei Hao. The blast of air was so strong it flattened the few hairs he had left on his head, creating a barren plain.

Startled, Situ Lei Hao stumbled back two steps.

At this, the onlookers didn’t dare to make a peep. They backed away one by one, terrified the tiger would lose control and attack them.

"See? Now it’s trying to bite me, isn’t it?" Situ Lei Hao tried to press his advantage before the crowd dispersed. "All these people saw your beast try to attack me! They’re all witnesses!"

The crowd was speechless. They all glanced at the enormous tiger...

’Nope, I’m no witness!’

’Just passing through. Didn’t see a thing.’

In an instant, the crowd of onlookers scattered.

Everyone was afraid of being targeted by Chen Xing and her tiger.

Situ Lei Hao and Situ Yuanyuan were speechless. ’What the hell is wrong with these people?’

Fortunately, a portion of the crowd had been planted by them beforehand to stir up trouble.

And while they hadn’t said a word, at least they hadn’t left.

"Hey, come back..." Chen Xing called out to the dispersing crowd.

The crowd didn’t know what she wanted. They didn’t dare leave, but they didn’t dare approach either.

The crowd remained silent. Of course they were curious.

So, a few of the bolder ones returned to the hallway, while the rest stood in the stairwell where they could still see.

Chen Xing stepped closer to Situ Yuanyuan, and Meng Hu obediently followed.

This sent Situ Yuanyuan into another fit of tears.

"You...!" Situ Lei Hao was so furious he nearly jumped. "Get your tiger away from my daughter this instant... or I’m calling security!"

Chen Xing didn’t move. Her eyes were fixed on Situ Lei Hao, her gaze unwavering, as if completely certain that Situ Yuanyuan was lying. She showed not a single trace of anxiety.

This caused the once-confident Situ Lei Hao to suddenly lose his nerve. "I told you to get that monster of yours away from my daughter! Do you hear me?"

He was practically roaring, as if trying to claw his confidence back through sheer volume.

’I knew he was acting strange. With how much he doted on Situ Yuanyuan, his first reaction upon seeing his daughter injured wasn’t to check on her, but to start grilling me about my tiger?’
