Chapter 1522: Final team

Chapter 1522: Final team

A wave of tense seriousness washed over the room. The time to start that dimensional war and fight for the regulated universe’s survival had arrived, instantly packing everyone’s schedule.

Warning everyone would only be the first task. The scientific division also had to contact the various leaders from different species, finalizing the battle strategy they had started to devise.

That finalization mostly had to do with what the allied front could achieve in one week. The battle strategy was pretty much set anyway. It was just a matter of optimizing and arranging the few remaining details.

Usually, the actual leaders of each species or force would take care of those tasks, but the division between mortals and evolved warriors couldn’t be more evident there.

Khan had no business among ordinary troops. He lacked the expertise to arrange them, and the same went for the Thilku Emperor and the other evolved warriors.

Instead, Khan’s business was elsewhere, with a different group that he had to summon now. Actually, he probably didn’t have to do anything for those elite warriors to come to him.

The order set an unstoppable, giant machine in motion, but Khan didn’t stay there to witness it. He departed as soon as he finished speaking, followed by Liiza and Lord Envoy, soon reappearing outside the building at the bottom of the gargantuan gorge.

The trio didn’t linger on the bedrock, either. Khan and Liiza set off, while Lord Envoy teleported himself away, probably hurrying back to his leader to share the news.

Liiza and Khan didn’t return to the occupied areas. They flew in the opposite direction, exchanging no words. They didn’t need to speak to understand each other, and the situation was too severe to engage in their usual teasing.

Aynor’s desert stretched far and wide, but so did the gargantuan cavity. One of its edges even touched on the quadrant’s edges, where the sand mixed with a barren but solid ground, and Khan and Liiza resurfaced exactly there.

No words resounded even after the couple sat down on a spot where the ground met the sand. Liiza mainly focused on applying protective runes on the sleeping Yeza at that point, while Khan gazed into the distance, sensing the powerful presences already coming in his direction.

The first to join the married couple didn’t come through the air. They materialized on the sandy ground, bringing more of the white sand with them.

Lord Envoy, Lord Enforcer, Lord Mighty, and Lord Blind Sword teleported in front of Khan and Liiza, their huge frames towering over the married couple. Their participation in that elite group had never been in doubt, but the event still had surprises in store.

A scarlet figure ran at full speed over the gargantuan cavity, unaffected by the absence of solid ground or any foothold. That sprint culminated in a giant leap, which lifted waves of soil and sand upon its landing.

Afterward, a heated, almost hot, aura spread through the area, seemingly tainting the lifted soil with the primordial excitement it carried. Of course, those clouds were shot-lived, soon revealing the bright red eyes at their source.

Ilman had joined the group, smirking at Khan and showcasing a level of power that couldn’t belong to mortal realms anymore. His physical appearance hadn’t changed, but he had undoubtedly evolved, retaining the copious scarlet shades of the old ways.

Khan hadn’t been the only one hard at work with his training during those two weeks. The experts willing to face the True Chaos’ Kings had tested each other in a tournament, and Ilman had made the cut after completing his evolution.

Ilman’s training session had been physically seamless, but the same didn’t apply to the next newcomer. His arrival even added a smirk on Lord Mighty’s face, who turned toward the gorge’s edge to witness his arrival.

Another red figure rushed over the gorge. Except he was darker and relied on ethereal, leathery wings to fly over that massive gap. He wasn’t as fast as Ilman, but he still reached the group in no time, showing his demonic appearance.

Khan had already seen Major General Arngan in his transformed state, but the scene remained curious.

The evolved warrior had dark-red skin, with long, curved horns growing from his forehead. Sharp fangs peeked past his lips, and his fingernails had turned black, becoming claws. Both his sclerae were also red, as if submerged in blood vessels.

That wasn’t anything new for Major General Arngan. If anything, the length of his demonic protuberances marked the advanced state of his transformation, but that was it.

However, the difference was in the absence of an opponent or spell. Major General Arngan didn’t rely on his element to transform. He hadn’t transformed at all. That was his natural state now.

Lord Mighty’s grin broadened as he reached for Arngan’s shoulder, happily patting it despite the low growl that escaped his sharp fangs.

The demon’s inspection couldn’t continue since someone else joined the group. A far smaller figure performed a swift landing in front of the evolved warriors, stopping her entire body and momentum with her tail before straightening herself up. Mazatl, the evolved Ef’i from the political meeting, had made the cut, too.

Muhsin, Dean Ulluw, and the three evolved warriors from the noble families that had stood out during the gathering came next. Dean hopped through the air, while Kodwa, Perac, and Airrak flew on top of a metal surface created by their Kros friend.

Khan half-expected someone else to have made the cut. He was also unsure about whether some of those evolved warriors truly belonged to that group. Yet, his inspection was cut short once again, as well as his expectations.

A far heavier aura washed over the area, rushing toward that gathering place with all the grace of a raging hurricane. A violent landing also followed, clearing the place of all the sand and most of the brittle soil.

The landing was so violent that the gathering spot never suffered from the sandstorms. The impact pushed them away before they could cover anyone, perfectly showing everyone the Thilku Emperor’s arrival.

Khan stood up at that point, knowing that the Emperor would be the last one to arrive. More arrangements would have to be discussed, but Khan felt the need to start with something simple.

“To all of you here,” Khan called. “Your job is to clear the path to the True Chaos’ God for me and the Emperor.”
