Chapter 170: Gaining Her Final Form... Not!!

Xinolily: “Mom, I think… I’m at the max Level now.” She voiced with a deeply relieved tone.

Celia: “Hm? Ah, probably. Either way, you should finish that plate. I have something to do, so please wait in your room, and I’ll help you Evolve in no more than an hour, okay?” She replied with a cheerful tone and expression.

Xinolily: “E-eh? It does taste good… but I swear that I won’t eat anything for the next hundred years!” She said with a pout, upset with the food, not her mother; still forking a bite into her mouth, regardless.

While life was currently very relaxed, Celia still had a few responsibilities to tend to. Somehow, my wife has been able to constantly keep placing new plates of food in front of our daughter, despite not ignoring (most of) her other tasks at all.

I honestly sometimes forget just how much of an amazing person Celia is… Anyway, her next task, which she has been putting off (because she could), does require Celia’s full attention; so Lily will have to wait to Evolve.

Celia: “You know, once you get through your Evolution, you’ll have to eat a lot. Lily, you do recall that, right?” She informed with a giggle.

Xinolily: “…”

Celia: “?”

Xinolily: “M-Mom, can’t I Evolve on my own?” She asked with a serious expression, trying to ignore her future, required meals.

Celia: “I mean, you can. But… it would be extremely painful.” She replied with a thinking pose.

Xinolily: “Painful? It wasn’t last time… Was that because I was asleep?” She said with a confused head tilt.

Celia: “No, it’s because I have a method to prevent people from feeling pain during their Evolutions. It isn’t as painful as it was a long time ago, though it is still not something that I want you to go through, Lily.” She explained with a stern, motherly tone.

Evolving… is not a pleasant experience at all, even now. Let alone back in the beginning of Celia’s journey. Damn Higher Beings actually had some base merit to their power, as Evolving into just a God or Goddess is… traumatizing enough.

Celia figuring out how to make it completely painless… is a cheat that no one will ever get angry with her discovering or abusing. It does require Divinity, though; and most Higher Beings don’t know the correct way to use that resource, unlike us. And Celia is still the best at it, especially since she adds Pure Mana into the mix as well.

Xinolily: “Wait… Mom, you never answered my earlier question.” She exclaimed, quickly jumping out of her chair, catching Celia before she could teleport away.

Celia: “Yes? What was it that you asked me, dear? I’ve unfortunately forgotten it with… all the cooking and multitasking that I was doing.” She replied with a warm, slightly remorseful tone.

Xinolily: “I know; it’s fine, Mom. I asked you why…or rather, what exactly is the point of me gaining all this power? You don’t have any enemies, nor will anything bad happen again… so I’m confused.” She explained with a thoughtful sigh.

Celia: “Oh, for no real reason.” She nonchalantly answered in reply.

Xinolily: “(O.o)”
