Chapter 168: Doubting Her Own Sanity And Memories!

The silence in the room was so thick… that one could probably reach out, and touch it. Xinolily closed, opened, closed, and reopened her Status over and over again, just to see if anything would change on it again.

Unfortunately for her, it stayed the exact same, not even a hint of something being different with it. Celia was equally confused, and a bit frustrated. This was a test to see if Xinolily was fine to be granted… uh… ultimate power, but this Status means that…

Xinolily: “If… my Status showed this after I Evolved, then I wouldn’t have had to starve myself for this long. Aaaaaaa!” She exclaimed with a frustrated pout.

Celia: “…That’s true. When exactly did it even change? Lily, did you go a while without checking it?” She asked in reply with a thinking pose.

Xinolily: “Mom, I checked my Status out yesterday, it was at 12,000-something Hunger, and absolutely didn’t have that refined note in it. Is this payback from Runeth, for what I suggested for her to do back at the courthouse?…” She answered with a groan.

Celia: “That’s… I don’t think that Runeth would ever be so cruel, even as a joke.” She instantly denied, having faith that her daughters weren’t terrible people.

Either way, we needed to ask the other daughter about this. Thankfully, Runeth shouldn’t be aware that today is when Xinolily was to be tested by Celia. Which means… it is even more unlikely that Runeth did this to prank or upset her sister.

Such jokes aren’t uncommon between siblings, but those of our family weren’t the kind to consider doing… a practical joke like this. I’m willing to bet that it is merely poor timing all around, or something along those lines.

An Hour Later!

Celia: “Is Shelba still trying to…” She was cut off.

Runeth: “Hm? Yes, she very much is. My wife isn’t doing it as a joke, or a play, either. She is truly trying to get me pregnant, denying our biology.” She deadpanly replied, already numb to how her wife keeps insisting on attempting such a method over and over again.

Xinolily: “Runeth, you know, that does sound pretty rough…” She voiced with a shiver.

Runeth: “Eh, it’s extremely arousing, and romantic. Though, I won’t discuss our bedroom antics anymore; as that is for her and I to know about alone. Anyway, why have you two called me out? I’ll have to make it up to Shelba later, since we were… in bed when you called, you see.” She replied with a sighful tone.

Xinolily: “My Status now shows that I only have to consume blood every 5,000,000 years, Runeth. It didn’t yesterday, which is vexing, since I’ve obviously been starving myself for no reason.” She explained with a confused tone.

Runeth: “Oh, Guanyu must have found something in her original Realm, then. Information relating to your Evolution I mean, Lily. Huh? Why are you two acting like… this is the first you’ve heard about Guanyu even going out?” She answered with an approving tone, before it switched to one of pure shock.

Celia and Runeth: “…”
